Figured I''d post her pics while I wait for it to ship and for PS2 to go up (if it ever does!)
I think the pics make the stone look darker than IRL since it''s in the shade, but I love how Barry''s cutting looks!

MTG, it looks great!!! Sally did a really nice job interpreting the classic deco setting. Very nice! Congrats!

It is lovely!

Pretty pretty color - thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys!

I asked sally to model it after FreeFly''s except without the side stones (I don''t like small side stones much, mostly cause I lose them!)

I love the ring!
I am planning to send my CC garnet to Sally for setting - just never get the nerve to mail it out to another country. She sent me instructions, but it is nerve-wrecking. But having seen everything that she has made for you fellows - I have to take this leap, I guess.

Thanks crasu.

If you had a prong setting in mind then sally can make the setting based on measurements and you don''t need to send the stone. Just FYI.

Gorgeous!!

Very nice! Love the two tone and the braided edge.

The ring and stone look lovely. I''ll bet you can''t wait to get the ring! I am getting this exact setting (I think Sally said it should be finished some time around the 10th of June) for my blue green tourmaline from Gene. Mine will have the side stones and will be a combination of yellow and rose gold.

Oh, it''s beautiful. Love the mixed metals.

I really need to get on with sending a couple more projects to her.

Sally did a really nice job. Looking forward to your photos.

Thanks guys!

This will be my 5th (6th if you count the frog I got my MIL) piece from sally. And my first bezel setting, so I''m excited to see it!

i was trolling sally''s site yesterday for ideas and wondered who this beauty belonged to. congrats!!

It is beautiful! I love the mixed metals and the combination with the stone is outstanding.

What a lovely ring! It''s a pretty shade of blue and seems to have so much sparkle-- I love that about spinel. How many mm is the stone? I have a beautiful grayish lavender one from Barry and it has so much presence, especially considering it is only 5.5 mm!

Looking forward to seeing your pictures!

I think it was 6mm

Beautiful! I also noted this one trolling around Sally''s site and liked it very much.

MTG, I too am a little hesitant to send off stones even with Sally''s excellent instructions. Would you mind assuaging some of my and other''s concerns by sharing your mailing technique?

Did you say the package contained "craft samples?"

Hey StonieGrl

I don''t want to go into details about packaging just on the minute chance that naughty minded folk read these boards.
But I will say that Registered mail is kept under lock and key, and I''ve yet to lose anything I''ve sent her by following her instructions, and I always make sure that my package does not look small and valuable.

The only stone I was too wussy to send was my padparadscha sapphire and only because it would have been too difficult for me to replace on the slight chance something happened, and I needed it in time for my wedding.

MTG, I was specifically wondering if you insured the stones you sent (which I wondered about, because if the sender calls them "Craft samples" why would it then be insured for a nice sum? Also, isn''t the object to avoid any kind of scrutiny or opening of any kind?).

Also, did you send multiple stones in one box? I have several stones I''d like Sally to set but not sure if putting them in the same box would increase the risk or not.

How did you pack your stones?

I was thinking of using newspaper or magazine page stuffing and taping the gem box/es onto them then just crumpling more around/on/over that piece..

I know, I know. I think too much.

And! When Sally sends your piece back, is it insured then?

Thank you a bunch, MTG, and anyone else who will share their HOW experience with us.

I"ve sent multiple stones before, once I sent Jstar''s stones along with mind to split shipping costs, haha.

I don''t think it''s recommended to insure the stones due to increased interest, but you do send it registered which is a heightened level of protection and care. I do believe the package is insured on the way back to the US, but I can''t specifically remember.

Gorgeous MTG!

Thank you very much, MTG. Feel better about this now, and several PSers have posted no problems with this process as well.

You certainly got a beautiful ring from Sally. Love the mixed metals, they really set the stone off. You''re right, Barry''s cutting features really well in the piece. Top notch all the way around
