Thank you Dreamer! I truly did not plan on getting a lab OEC because I love the wonkiness of the true antique OECs but this one spoke to me and so I followed my heart and not my brain. And I am enjoying wearing her very much. At heart I am a solitaire girl but cannot give up Bubbalah's setting which feels super romantic and feminine. While I never think of myself as flashy (I am the opposite of flashy), Bubbalah's setting captured my heart from the beginning. This way I have the best of both worlds. For as long as I can wear rings that is.

Thanks so much Mreader. Unfortunately it is a progressive disease with no cure. I am doing radiation of both hands..20 treatments every five separated by three months so a long drawn out process with no proof it works. It can slow it down but it could make it worse. The one positive thing I can say is it won't kill me but it can detract from my quality of life unfortunately. I won't go into gory details but to say I know others with this disease (I belong to a support group) who have had to have fingers amputated. That is a worse case scenario but I have an aggressive form of the disease and only 20% of people with this disease (which is rare to begin with) contract and I have already contracted. But keeping my head up because life while not easy beats the alternative. And one day at a time. But some might say I need my head examined that I bought yet another ring. And maybe I do. I mean we have five cats now. I used to think more than two was too much

So Beatrice was an I color to start before recutting so supposedly one color whiter than Bubbalah who is a GIA J. But they do look very similar and I always thought Bubbalah looked brighter than a J IMO but who knows maybe I am not color sensitive the way others are

I agree with you that Bubbalah looks whiter than a J. Even GIA can get it wrong. When I sold my supposedly G rated mrb diamond by GIA...it got send out to GIA to get recertified,..It came back as an F. I always thought it looked whiter than a G. I still kick myself for selling it.

As I get older and stumble around through life, I’m constantly reminded of how none of us gets out alive and there’s so many indignities along the way. I don’t mean that to sound negative or pessimistic, though I’m not really one to be flowery in the face of hardships either. But taking things day by day really is all we can do. My mantras when I’m starting to feel a little overwhelmed by my own health challenges are “waddaya gonna do?” and “ stay present in the moment”. So in your situation it makes total sense to wear rings now while you can and try to wring every little drop of pleasure out of life that is possible. Maybe bracelets will be in your future? Or long pendulous amulets. There’s always new and creative ways to enjoy giant diamonds.

When I was looking for the original MRB to recut to 5 ct, if you see my previous posts about it, i looked at literally 1,000+ diamonds. I had the flu after christmas and couldnt get out of bed for a week so i just literally was looking at diamonds all day for like 5 or 6 days. I fell IN LOVE with a 7.6 carat I color that had this peachy pink color to it. But southwest charges on the BEGINNING weight, so it not only was the starting diamond more money, but the recut was now going to be more. So i passed on it and bought a smaller beautiful creamy yellow H to do the recut.

Challenges are no stranger for me so I’ve learned to roll with the punches and make the best of every situation.

When I was a little girl my dad always said to me “missy no one gets out of this life alive “ whenever I was upset about something. And darn it if it didn’t make me feel better lol.

ROFLMAO you know me well and I would say you are on point with that except for my poor fingers...I am super frustrated with my health situation regarding my hands and I just tried on the pink diamond Leibish rose gold band I have and had so much trouble getting it off







Excuse the shiny fingers...I had just moisturized as per surgeon's instructions and then decided to play with the rings LOL
You can see the rose gold isn't a bad match but darn I had so much trouble getting it off due to my stupid knuckles..it fits the finger but what good is it if I cannot get it on and off easily?

OK done with the pity party...on to happier thoughts. At least it's not going to kill me right?

One word…Windex! I have no idea why it works better than anything else..but it does!

Soap and water..even a lot of soap wouldn’t make my rings budge. Windex works every time. A jeweler told me about using Windex. They had a bottle on their counter …and it’s a nice jewelry store.

Still trying to find the right band to go with it. I think I am going to resize my pink diamond leibish band even though that is rose gold (I think) it seems to go best with it. Here's another band I tried with it yesterday evening. Not loving it

Aww thanks Bonfire. Greatly appreciate your kind words. I thought I couldn't do lab due to mind clean but turns out is is mind clean for me so yay! Though I do not want to keep purchasing bling when I rarely wear bling lol. It's just hard to resist beautiful bling and labs open up a whole new world. I agree with you. So far the sapphire band is best with the ring and luckily mixing metals does not bother me at all. In fact I think I prefer it but I guess it depends

First of all a HUGE thank you to @Inked who won't see this for a while as she is away for a very happy occasion. But I want to thank her first because without her amazing skills and eye I would not have Beatrice. A ring I did not even know I wanted lol. Please skip ahead to photos if you do not want to read my long winded explanation about the ring



I rarely go to the PreLoved section on PS just because who needs that kind of temptation but one day I did and I fell in LOVE with this ring. And much to my surprise it was still available...meant to Bea!!!


I have wanted a solitaire for many years but would not reset Bubbalah because she is purrrrfect as is...her setting is super feminine and just fits my personality. But still I longed for a solitaire. I wasn't looking because I don't need any more bling (who needs bling but you know what I mean) and because of a certain condition I have I am not even supposed to wear rings. However it's a quality of life issue and I am being careful and following my surgeon's and RO's instructions so hopefully it will be OK. Anyway I saw her and fell hard. And within a little over a week she was mine.

I apologize for the photos. I have to wear a splint and glove 24/7 for the most part and cannot tolerate any temp extremes so instead of waiting til Spring I decided to do the best I can now and post what I could ((I promised inked I would and I always keep my promises).

Named after my darling grandmother and also Beatrice means "bringer of joy" and "blessings" and that is what my grandma embodied., Some of you (long timers on PS) might remember my first OEC Bea. I sold her to a dear friend who renamed her and who is enjoying her so I thought the name could be used again but this time in full name form...Beatrice. Which was my grandma's full name
