What beauty product can't you live without? And bonus question - what are your favorite products for winter? I'm about to do another Sephora run (online) and I have a 20% coupon code (ff2010 for those of you who are interested), so fire away! :)

Aquaphor for my lips--a year-round must-have, but definitely required during the winter months. I keep a tube in each purse, my car, my desk, etc.

Black eyeliner and mascara. Rimmel, usually.

That's it! I'm boring.

Haven I am too! :P

I forgot to add my own. I love Aveeno Lip Conditioner, but I have such a hard time finding it. I just ordered two tubes from Amazon (yay Amazon Prime!). I also love Fresh Sugar chapstick, but it's so expensive at $22 a pop. I think the Aveeno does as good a job for WAY cheaper.

Covergirl black eyeliner (with the little sponge at the other end).

Clinique moisturizer (I use two different kinds depending on the season).

And that's about it. On my shopping list is cuticle oil (I hate winter), ultra-hydrating shampoo (again, hate winter), and a good body cream (did I mention I hate winter? :P).

Mac Eyebrow pencil. One of my eyebrows doesn't grow properly since I had it pierced years ago. Its closed up now but for some reason my brow just stops midway. I am going to have my brows tattooed after christmas.

i NEED an undereye concealer - i have dark, genetic circles under my eyes that i hate - my brother and my mother have them as well. I use maybelline - the yellow one for darkness, and the stick, not the liquid because i think it stays on better. I also wear a black maybelline great lash mascara every day and a bronzer (even in the winter) from estee lauder that is called "bronze goddess." It makes me look and feel healthie

having said that, I LOVE eye shadow, but don't wear it every day - at night yes. I used to really love MAC eyeshadows, and still do, but my favorite shadow is the physician's formula shimmer strips for blue eyes. It's one case, but lots of colors and i like to play around with it.

I almost never wear lipstick at all. strange....

T. LeClerc Powder.

Eyebrow pencil. Maybelline used to make a great auburn pencil, but no longer, so I'm on the hunt...

My tweezerman tweezers!

I also use sephora's laura mercier tinted moisturizers - I like the super-sheer coverage. Not so much the pricetag though.

I am such a Sephora junkie! I am planning on placing another online order while Friends & Family is still going on. My first order consisted of a lot of Philosophy stuff that I'm planning to use as gifts at Christmas. Here's my long list of must-haves:

- Flat black eye shadow in a formula that doesn't sting my eyes--it sounds crazy, but I line my inner rims/waterlines with a teeny brush and powder eye shadow. Covergirl makes a great flat black shadow that lasts all day, doesn't smudge, and is a piece of cake to take off.

- BareMinerals foundation

- Carmex or Aquaphor, especially in the winter!

- Clinique lip gloss in Black Honey (I put it on after a layer of Carmex).

- Jergens self-tanning face lotion w/SPF 20. I use this year-round as a primer, sunscreen, and very subtle self-tanner.

- CLARISONIC! I use Cetaphil or Philosophy Purity with it.

- Bronzer or blush--right now I am liking NARS Laguna and Benefit PosieTint, respectively.

- Bath & Body Works Body Cream in Freshwater Cucumber--this scent was very sadly discontinued two years ago. I am still surviving on the stock I have, but it's going to run out in a few months.

- Living Proof No Frizz Straight-Making Styling Cream--I recently discovered this stuff at Sephora, and it is phenomenal. My hair is fine-to-medium thickness and curly. I straighten it daily, and this cream makes that process so much simpler. It also makes the straightening hold better so I can go a couple days without having to re-wash and re-style my hair. This is great for keeping my hair hydrated in the winter!

Oh I forgot my Tweezerman tweezers - I love mine. And I just got the Clarisonic Mia - liking it so far. Btw, for anyone who cares about this, Aspen Leaf Spa is having a sale on Clarisonics. I got my Mia for $112 or so, with free Priority shipping I think.

I also love Phyto and Frederic Fekkai hair products. They're so dang expensive though!

Neutregena Advanced something or other w/ retinol.

Pink bottle mascara.

Chapstick.

Sebastian makeup brushes

L'Oreal lash serum.
Benefit brow zing, with a Bobbi Brown brow brush.
Bobbi Brown eye shadows.

Bobbi brown brick compact in 'beach', physicians formula mascara, bumble and bumble hair products...absolute must haves

Oh! and Make Up forever HD powder.

- Revlon eyeliner in black. It's the only make up I use. (Pathetic, I know! :) )
- Labello hydrocare lip balm. Uber-cheap but so yummy and doesn't make me look as if I'm wearing lip gloss or lipstick.
- Nivea soft cream. It moisturises like a dream, has no icky, cloying scent, and it's just so... Soft.
- My trusty tweezers from the Body Shop. They're amazing! Although, I'm very curious about these other tweezers everyone is mentioning...?
- Head and Shoulders shampoo. It works far better than any of the exclusive salon brands!
- Joico conditioning serum
- VO5 Get It Straight straightening balm
- Silicone for hair. Any brand. I love it!
- My Philips flat iron. It's lasted years longer than any of my GHDs and does a far better job!

This isn't exactly a beauty product, but it's something I simply can not live without: once a month I see a lovely lady in town for a lip and brow wax. I am cursed with thick, unruly eyebrows. I would have them done more frequently if I could, but sadly haircare eats up my 'me' budget.

When I was younger I used Matis facial products. They were amazing! Now I can't be bothered and just use soap and water. Once every few months I remember to moisturize and then I think, ok. I'll do that tomorrow. But somehow I never do.

I guess I'm quite low maintenance. :)

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser (started using this a few months ago and I love it) I used to use Abolene cleanser and still do to remove eye makeup

Avon Anew moisturizer and eye cream

Prescriptive cosmetics! I love their Flawless Finish and Mineral Powder makeup. I wear the Flawless Finish when going out and the mineral the other times. Even though they are not sold through retail stores anymore I can still buy online. Apparently there has been a great demand for their stuff that they send emails whenever a product becomes available. Unfortunately not everything is available. :(sad

NARS blush in orgasm

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry to the Touch sunscreen

Any body moisturizer with shea butter. Currently using the Avon Moisture Therapy body lotion in shea butter

Hand cream: Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive Hand Cream

Rusk Thick Body and Amplifier Spray for my hair. It gives me unbelievable body and shine to my hair

Redken Colored Extend Shampoo and Conditioner

Anything for the lips as long as it is a lip butter.

THIS!!!! This is something I never want to live without again. It is the PERFECT color for me. It doesn't really look blue and I'm skeptical that it makes my eyes bluer, but it is the perfect intensity for my complexion. I put a tiny bit on every day now, more for going out. I've always worn black because brown looks ridiculous on blondes - most of us, the real blondes anyway, don't have brown anywhere on our bodies and having big old brown eyelashes looks funny. Brown black is better but still, pretty dark which is fine for a dramatic effect. I usually just went with black. But THIS shade, this is absolutely perfect. Rather than going down the brown scale it goes down a grey scale so I get a color that doesn't look too intense but isn't brown. It is kind of a slate blue but it looks like black when it's on, just not so intense. I cannot stress how amazing this product is to me. It's called Black Sapphire and I bought 10 tubes when I was in the states in July. I live in fear that it will discontinue and I will have to spend the rest of my life without it. I may end up debating if situations are "mascara-worthy" hahaha (for the seinfeld reference only some of you may get....)

Concealer: MAC in the little tub ( the most potent concealer out there, I have horrible undereye circles)
Blush: NARS in Torrid
Lipstick: Bobby Brown, NARS lipstick pencils, Smashbox (liner and lipstick on the same pencil)
Lipbalm: Aveda (I've tried atleast 50, nothing is more moisturizing than this)
Mascara: Fresh (it's amazing! I've never rebought the same mascara in my entire life, but my quest to find the perfect mascara is over. It's thick and volumizing, doesn't clump and it's SO easy on the eyes!)
Body lotion: Fruits and Passion Pear something
Eyeshadows: Bare Minerals
Eyeliner: sephora brand, MAC

Laura mercier under eye concealer
Make up forever HD powder
Bare escentuals foundation and eyeshadows
Clinique mascara
and Nars blush in :ehhem: Deep Throat

These first two are must haves period. Vaseline and Neosporin. With these two things I can conquer the world. Anytime I have a blemish-Neosporin. Terrible dry patch-Vaseline. I sleep with Vaseline on my lips every night. I put Neosporin on my nose when I have a cold and it gets raw.

As far as makeup...I got this free cream shadow with my mascara once and I love it. It is made by Revlon. I am almost out of the free trial so I am going to have to track it down soon.

Favorite chap stick is Blistex brand Herbal Answer. I have a hard time finding it and I have to go online and order 6 tubes at a time.

Lastly is my facewash. It is Clean and Clear Foaming Oil Free Makeup removing Facewash. Again, another thing that is hard to find and I buy it 3 bottles at a time online.

Mine Are:

St. Ives Apricot Scrub - blackhead and blemish control
Mary Kay black liquid eyeliner
Burts Bees Lip Balms
my tweezers which are amazing
opi nail polishes
urban decay eye shadow Midnight Cowboy Rides Again
My Chi
Mary Kay Liquid concealor

You can put vaseline on your eyelashes too, at night. It'll plump them up a little for the next day!

**********

I have the worst time with make-up. At some point, I became horribly allergic to all eye make-up products. I could REALLY use the definition provided by mascara, liner and shadow, but after one use, my eyes suffer terribly and require steroid drops to get them feeling normal again. ;( There are some super-natural products I can use, like Dr. Hauschka's mascara, but it is really not like the super-duper volumizing and lengthening mascaras out there today. It gives a thin coat of color that comes right off if you touch your lashes. I also use a shadow that I can only find at Whole Foods. Can't remember the name right now. It's also better than nothing.

I like powder foundations. Thought I found a great Maybelline one as a substitute for MAC's studio fix (never found the right shade), but it appears the color of the Maybelline varies by batch. I bought the same ivory shade that I liked the first time around, but now it makes me look like a ghost.

Sensitive topic for me I guess. ::) Help?

Makeup Forever HD Power - transparent powder that makes my skin look great, even over moisturizer with no foundation. I've stopped wearing foundation at all since I bought this.

Clinique Lash Power Mascara - one of the tube type mascaras. The only thing that doesn't give me raccoon eyes.

Smashbox Waterproof Cream Eyeliner - I use these for my waterline and they don't smudge. Sometimes I use them as eyeliner, but more often I use a dark brown Smashbox shadow as liner.

I am a Sephora junkie too!! I have about a 1000 beauty points that I have been saving, waiting for something really good!!!

I love my Clarisonic
St.Ives scrub
a new fav-neutrogena tone correcting fluid with 30 spf-it has a retinol, vitamin C and a sunscreen all in one product-and it's 20 bucks!!!
a prescription retin A-have been using it for 15 years and don't have any deep wrinkles at 51. Wouldn't be without it.
Bare Escentuals foundation and eyeshadows and eyeliners.

California Naturals-coconut and tangerine moisturizer. I have had two people tell me I smell like a cookies. I don't know why, but I
love that.

Ojon, foaming volumizer -at Sephora. I have tried a bunch of others and this is the best for my hair.

Nick Chavez Plump n thick leave in thickening creme conditioner

La Mer eye cream
Aveeno positively ageless eye cream

I am a total beauty product junkie! I love trying new producs so I always have a stash of stuff. My mainstays are:

- Maybelline Full N Soft mascara in very black. LOVE it! This is the best mascara I've ever used. I buy it two or three tubes at a time lest it be discontinued. It's cheap and I rarely leave the house without at least a swipe of it.

- Cetaphil gentle cleanser. The one that doesn't foam up. This works great for my skin in the winter. I also use the Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer in the colder months.

- Chapstick brand chapstick in mint. It's hard to find so I'll buy a few tubes at a time.

- Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash. If I get a breakout I'll use this and it works like a charm. I prefer the cream cleanser although the stuff in the pump works just as well for my skin, especially in the summer when it's not dry.

My other beauty products I like the experiment with. Right now I'm on Dove shampoo and conditioner and Irish Spring (for men!) bodywash. A few years ago I chucked all of my old makeup and bought all MAC products and, other than my Maybelline mascara, I've stuck with those but I'm not opposed to trying different brands.

Violet, I have the same dark circles and I’ve used Benefit’s Eye Bright and Lemon-Aid before and have liked them. I think I’m going to start using the Eye Bright again, my undereye circles have been awful lately. Right now I’m using Lancôme’s Effacernes Undereye Concealer or Maquicomplet Complete Coverage Concealer.

Compact: Estée Lauder Lucidity Translucent Pressed Powder.

Bronzer: Smashbox Bronze Lights in Sunkissed Matte or Lancôme Sun-Kissed Bronzing Powder

Blush: Benefit Luminizer in Georgia.

Eyeshadow: Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow. I love their color combinations! I also use Chanel Ombre D’eau Fluid Iridescence Eyeshadow when I want a fun night look.

Eyeliner: Lancôme and Sephora Collection.

For smoky/night look: Smashbox Cream Eye Liner and apply with their Cream Eye Liner Brush #9.

Mascara: Lancôme Definicils High Definition Mascara in black.

For lips I use Lancôme Color Fever Lipcolor in Rose Defile but I think they might have discontinued this color. Rose Defile is a really pretty soft pink color. Sometimes I wear Lancôme Juicy Tube gloss over it.

Ditto to the Twizzerman tweezers. I love mine!

Face cream: not loyal to one yet. Need to find something good.
Face wash: Clean & Clear or Nuetrogena
Exfoliator: Vichy or La Roche Posay
Liquid Primer: Sephora brand
Liquid Foundation: Make Up Forever HD
Powder: Cover FX
Concealer: Lise Watier
Eyelid prmier: Smashbox--I use it from lashline to brow, especially when I don't plan to use shadow...it really evens out skintone
Bronzer: NARS Laguna
Blush: NARS Orgasm

Eyeshadows: I have a mix of MAC, Annabelle, Clinque stuff
Brow pencil: Annabelle...have been addicted to adding pencil to my brows lately. I love the intense look and I fill in one of my brows that has a scar and looks different than the other because the hair is sparse aroudn the scar
Mascara: I usually use CoverGirl
Lips: I usually don't use lip stuff but yesterday bought a Cover Girl lip staining pen which I love already, you put it on like a marker and the colour stays! I also picked up a Red Smashbox coloured gloss to try.

Nail polish: OPI and Essie colours-lots!
Perfume: D&G Light Blue, Anna Sui Secret Wish, Aquolina Pink Sugar, SJP NYC.

I keep seeing people listing the Clairsonic. I have no idea what that is but will look it up.

Cle de Peau concealer stick. For those of us with dark undereye circles, it's a mircale. However, it is crazy ridiculously expensive at something like $70 for a tube. :errrr: But the coverage and lack of cakiness is AMAZING!

I have tried (and continue to try) other products but always come back to these staples:

Philosophy Hope in a Jar for Dry, Sensitive Skin

Philosophy Purity (face wash)

Blistex DCT (I wear this at bedtime)

Fresh Sugar Plum lip balm/color (excellent moisturizing and a really pretty, sheer color. I stocked up on 3 during Sephora's F & F. I wear this during the day)

Blinc mascara (stays on but washes off easily with water)

Temptu (I use it for foundation only)

NARS blush in Matahari

Clarisonic (good exfoliation for those with sensitive skin)

My DH bought me a bunch of cheap-o make up last year and teases me all the time for never wearing it. I have decided that I need to start wearing makeup again and stop being a grungy mommy, so I'll start this weekend.

I do like MAC, but dang the prices, ouch. A little at a time, I guess.

I do have a question though. I like liquid eyeliner, with the actual brush tip, not the felt tip, tip. Any suggestions for that?

Hm..I'm pretty dang lame. My only thing I have to have is my lip balm from Mirasol Farm on Etsy. It's just the right consistency and not waxy or weird feeling like some are. I'm a lip-stuff junky. I have them all over the house and cart one around w/me all day-in my sports bra. However, I don't use it as much since I've started getting this stuff, which is funny to me. I can eat and drink and my lips still feel good.

Otherwise, I'm not specific to any brand for anything. I still haven't been able to find foundation-liquid or powder-that matches me. It was way easier when I tanned and my face/neck were the same color. My neck is pale and then my face always seems ruddy or something..I can't find a foundation light enough that blends seamlessly into my neck without that orange or pink-ness to it. I found on another forum links to a bunch of different mineral foundation sites, that offer little samples of multiple shades so I think I'll have to break down and try it.

I mentioned to my mom once that I was going to order the Clarisonic and she had something similar but another brand..it's called Skinnsonic by Dimitri James..works well enough I guess but I always still think about getting the Clarisonic anyway.

Oh wait, I know something else I can't seem to do without. My acne wash/toner/cream by Skin Medica. I've been dealing w/cystic acne for 25 years, been on Accutane 3 times, done the light treatments and every possible prescription and OTC and infomercial system since then and this is the only thing that works for me. I had some peels done that worked very well, and the last couple peels I had were Skin Medica peels. Phenomenal. They're expensive, so I just stick w/the wash etc and it really works well.

Infrared sauna helps too, tho I don't use it like I should.

This year with the FF code, I got a Philosophy 3-in-1 (Peppermint Bark) and a face cream - Peter Thomas Roth. Both brands I use a lot of products by.

Another I love is Bliss's Foot Patrol and would have included that in my order except I found it at Nordstrom rack for under $10 (major score).

Normally I buy more than one Philosophy 3-in-1 with the FF...I may order a few more under my DH's name (since people can use the code only once!) Also, should pick up a mascara.

Previous years, I've gotten Potion Primer and an Urban Decay 24/7, but recently replaced those. Oh, and I did just get a new mascara. Oh, I don't know. It's always so hard deciding! lol

ETA - I have a bunch of beauty must-haves...the above are the staples I get from the FF sale!
