Beryllium treatment seems now widely accepted in sapphire business.
But is it safe for health ? Is there any danger ?

Mus,

"Widely accepted", that is debatable. The treatment is difficult to detect in small stones without lab analysis. If you are asking about your personal health, though I doubt there is any real issue, my advise, never suck on a sapphire.

Cheers,

I would not call it widely accepted either. Many reputable coloured stone vendors still will not touch it with a 10 ft pole.

Richard,
Thanks for the laugh. I''ll make sure I don''t eat any sapphires any time soon!!

While they are beautiful, I don''t think they''re good for your digestion.

I agree with you : that is debatable.
I do not like beryllium treated sapphires but unfortunatly, many dishonest sellers only mentioned ''heated'' instead ''berryllium heated''. And that is quite different.
