Well if you want to buy new I think the best price you might get is to buy Cartier from the duty free at the airport. I have been looking at the cartier tank watch to purchase and I haven't really seen a place online where I can buy my exact one at a big price difference. Though I have seen cartier watches online at overstock.com and obviously you can buy them used on ebay, but that is always a risk. I have also seen them used at Dover Jewelry and NY estate Jewelers.

The watch is not for me, a friend is buying it, so it's sort of up to her. However, I'd love to see what you'd recommend in a watch in that price range that might be similar to the version I mentioned in the first post.

Their range is 3500-6000.
