This 3/4 eternity band is one of my favorite rings. But I have never been wowed by the sapphires. It’s very difficult to keep them clean, and even at their cleanest they are still very dark. The openings in the platinum in the back are very small, so it’s difficult to clean. I was too excited and impatient when the ring was made, so I approved the melee immediately. I should have taken the melee home and viewed the stones in different lighting to be sure. This was four years ago! I wear it daily. I do love the ring. I designed it myself at a local shop. It’s platinum and the diamonds were used from an old anniversary ring that I rarely wore.

I’d like to send it off for new CS melee. I’d like sapphires, but rubies or other CS are fine, too! I just want premium, vivid color. I am also considering putting all diamonds in, but I’d prefer CS.

What vendors should I approach for this? I’d prefer to send the ring to the vendor to be set if possible. The band is about 2.5 mm, I believe the diamonds are six-pointers.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Are you contemplating a re-make of the band? Because the stones are bezel-set, I'm thinking that new sapphires can't simply be swapped in; of course, I'll be happy on your behalf if I'm wrong!

Africa Gems seems to stock a variety of CS melee -- here's the blue sapphire page for their calibrated, "precision cut" melee:

For some reason that link isn’t working (even when I went to the site and tried to click through from the home page!).

What started this idea of the “swap” is the new ultrasonic I bought—I put this particular ring through a few different times, hoping to get the sapphires thoroughly clean. I thought it was safe, since they’re bezel set! Well, one sapphire fell out! So I thought I might take advantage of the opportunity since I would have to take it to a bench, anyway.

I hadn’t really considered the labor involved in so many bezels, but that does make sense. Maybe I should take it back to the local shop to inquire about that. I’d rather them not do the “swap” if I do end up going that route. I love them for other jobs, but CS isn’t really their niche.
