I really didn''t get to celebrate much today other than having a room full of loud off key student singers serenade me.

Half day of school, but we had to stay until 4:30 for staff meetings.

Spent my evening with microwave kettle corn and lesson planning. BF was taking a law exam today and has another Wednesday, so he couldn''t come out to see me tonight. I talked to him for about all of 2 minutes today. His last exam is on Saturday, so I probably will see him then.

WOO HOO! I know the feeling, I am suppressing this overwhelming rush of giddiness at times when I am trying to teach. I''ll be doing something and then get RING BRAIN and be on the verge of giggles in front of my students. They all think I am crazy anyway, so this unfortunately would not be anything unusual.

I am not positive, but I believe that if he does not already have something picked up, there is a ring somewhere on deposit/being made for next week. The hints dropped previously have been his own, and I''ve also heard buzz from his family. Taking into account the hints, celestial alignments, tea leaves, voodoo, etc., all signs point to "girl soon" for engagement. Our anniversary is next Thursday, that is my top choice as to when.

Would you like some cake, Fishie? I have lots now, and you have to have some before Blenheim''s horses up there try to eat it.

Me too, ephemery1! I have been itching to take one home instead of just covertly glancing through them at the store. Granted, I may have to hide them under the bed for a week or so, but soon I''ll have them lying spread-eagled and dog-eared all over the place.

OOOOH wedding ****!

You may not have been around here when that term was coined, but I still find it hysterical. It is what LIWs sometimes called the wedding mags that they had hidden away from their BFs. FI actually still calls my mags "wedding ****."

It was always amazing to me how giddy I would get when I picked up a great wedding mag when FI and I were dating. It would brighten my day when the new MS weddings would come out! Sadly, it has lost some of its luster...I think the "forbidden" aspect was what made it enticing!

My boyfriend walked in on me with some wedding **** spread out on my bed a little while ago.
Me: "Uhh... What do you think of that dress?"
Him: "Eh, I don''t really like it."
Me: "Ok, me neither."
And that was the end of that.

Equ, you might be *wanting* to go into bubbly giggles now, but wait til you have the ring on and you''re thinking of that day, and all the days to follow. You''ll be gazing at your ring more than you teach. The kids will have it easy for the remainder of the year. Your boy could get a pretty penny from the kids for an action like that, on their behalf.

I had thought about that, Fishie, and it makes me happy that he is taking his mentioned timeline of "before June" down to the wire. If the ring were already in place, teaching would be DONE. At least I''ve maintained a shred of focus this far...

One of my favorite engagement gifts was a bundle of bridal magazines from a friend of my now husband''s who''d recently gotten married, tied up with an ivory satin ribbon. I thought it was so sweet--remember to save some of yours for the next bride-to-be in your circle!
