I was lucky to acquire this large turquoise cab a few weeks ago. It's from Bisbee, Arizona. Bisbee stones are hard to find, as the mine has been closed since the 1970s. I was pretty stoked when I found it.
This variety is called smoky Bisbee.

So I worked on this ring today, and of course I wanted to share it with you, my fellow jewelry lovers.

That is a gorgeous color. I’ve always wanted to see a Bisbee origin piece. Thanks for sharing.

I had been wanting a Bisbee stone for a long time, but they are somewhat expensive. I stumbled upon this one, and the price was reasonable, so I grabbed it.
Bisbee is famous for the brownish- purple matrix.

Thank you!
I do love making jewelry, but I don't sell it anymore. Too stressful!
But I appreciate your kind comment!

Holy Smoke that is one beautiful ring. Love Bisbee. Was wondering when you'd make a turquoise ring from this beautiful locale. That setting is just so perfect! Love the etching outside the bezel and that ball on the outside surround ... exquisite.

Thanks @mayday!
I just confess, my most favorite part is applying the oxidation. It's a liquid that you apply with a small brush. It turns the whole setting black.....then you polish it again and the black remains in the recesses. Fun!

HI:

VERY COOL!!!!

cheers--Sharon

That's a beautiful piece you fashioned; the smokiness on the edges of that stone lends a very mysterious affect to it. You know I love your art, and I hope you display them when not actively wearing.

Very cool stone and the setting is just perfect for it!

Beautiful stone and setting! Great work.
