Bloodstone!

Here is a bloodstone ring that I made tonight. Sterling silver. I bought the stone on a whim a few weeks ago. I struck the edging with a chisel to create that effect. I might have to go back to the mineral shop and get another one!
Anyone with bloodstone jewelry to

I have been looking at a lot of vintage and Victorian bloodstone jewelry lately online.
The old rings are so beautiful. I love the masculine feel of it, especially with yellow gold.
But they are also expensive so I thought I'd make my own ring.
I'm heading to a local gem and mineral show today, so I'll be like a kid in a candy shop!

I picked up a few moonstones, a chrysoprase, and some lapis strands. It's always alot of fun, but prices seemed higher this time! Here's a shot of one vendor's booth.

There were so many strands on these tables, it was like a sea of gemstones.
I just wanted to climb on top and roll around in them!
