I'm grateful for the opportunity to post on this forum. Yesterday, I posted on the diamond forum about the stone and I was told by one of the experts on here to post the pictures under this thread instead. Inside, it has natural inclusions like dark sulfide, graining lines, cross-hatched “tatami”strain pattern, etc. Please click the link below for the other post on the diamond forum...

In advance, I appreciate any reply that can help me to further identify the stone, since I was told it's a natural color.

I can see the structure of the blue background material - def. no diamond or gem material with a higher RI.

Think Glass or synthetic spinel course I see no doubling.

Thank you for the reply! Can a synthetic spinel change color to blend in with its surroundings.

Your pics are not very helpful - put the stone on a white paper please and ad more informations.

Whatever it is It's awesome. I love the shape

I think what you're seeing is a stone that doesn't reflect much light back at you, so the color of whatever is behind it shows through it a lot. A true color change stone would appear different colors depending on what kind of light is shining at it. So it would look one color under incandescent and another under flourescent light, for example. That change would be noticeable on a white background.

Try to get some clear pics on a white background, so the folks here can see the true color. :)

Here is one with a white background. I'll post more soon. Thanks for all the replies!

Really hard to tell what it is from a pic. It could be synthetic spinel or corundum, but you should take it to a gemologist who understands colored stones very well (not all of them do) to find out for sure.

The fact that it's cut very well, large and looks fairly clean, indicates to me it might be synthetic.
