Blue sapphire

Hey! Got some pics finally of my little sapphire. I love it! Very beautiful blue and sparkles like crazy. It was described as finest cornflower blue and eye clean. 0.5 carats unheated. I don't think I will set this one just yet, but maybe next year! Any ideas on how to make it more visible because of its small size?

A halo or bezel will increase its apparent size. Very nice color.

Or for an antique look you could do something with filigree -- dori posted her beautiful (large!) tourmaline in filigree in this thread, but I was thinking more of her inspiration photo, which looks like a ruby or pink sapphire closer to the size of your stone… on the first page of this thread. As much as I love halos, I think I prefer an illusion setting for this one.

Another vote for the floating/air line/gap halo, which is how I set my EC diamond.
