Blue Spinel CAD- Any Concerns?

DK is setting this 3.67 carat blue spinel. My thought was an almost solitaire look with 2 small 3mm OECs flanking the spinel. I asked that the spinel be set high enough to wear the ring with bands. He as added a mock band to gauge how the ring will look with a band. The band would be a 7 stone 1 carat diamond band. Any thoughts or concerns on the CAD? The metal is platinum- size 6.75 with sizing beads.

I don't see anything obvious but I wanted to say how pretty that spinel is. This is going to be a beautiful ring!

Its gorgeous. I think that for the ring to sit flush you might have to raise the head a little. Otherwise, I see the possibility of a gap.

How high is the 7 stone ring and what size diamonds?

I don't see any other issues, again, gorgeous!

It looks very pretty! I second @Arcadian's comment about possibly having to raise the head - I thought that as well. I'd double-check with DK though.

Nothing else stands out. Can't wait to see the real thing!

It looks classic with some subtle details. Very nice. Does the band have exposed diamond girdles that might rub up against your new ring? Or will you wear a spacer?

Other than possibly raising the head if you want a flush fit, I think it looks great! I’m hoping to set my blue-green spinel sometime early next year too and still looking into setting ideas, so really excited to see how yours turns out.

Thank you @alene and @Stone Hunter, I really don't like to wear a spacer, and described the diamond band to DK and asked him to please make sure the head of the ring set high enough to be worn with the band. So hopefully the band will sit flush.

Maybe I wasn't clear? It can sit flush and still have diamond girdles rubbing against the new ring and cutting it up. That's what I'm concerned about since this new ring looks to be lovely!

@Stone Hunter- DK asked for the size of the diamonds in the band so hopefully the diamonds won't rub, but I guess we will see if I need to wear a spacer after all. Thanks for the good advice.
