It seems those blue spinels are from Sri Lanka or Myanmar, and the blue spinels from Vietnam and Tanzania are also very beautiful. If you like blue spinels, I suggest you can pay attention to them.
Blue spinel definitely deserves attention, it's an underrated gemIt’s harder purchasing blue spinels these days with the proliferation of convincing synthetics.
I started this thread because I love blue spinels, and whenever I see a spinel thread, it’s usually a red or pink. I think blue spinels need more love!
My oval blue spinel is so beautiful to me that I’vr worn it almost every day for years. I think among all my gemstones, it’s the most mesmerizing to me, and it has gray. I think the high luster, sparkle, pink flashes, RI, color shift all contribute to my love of this one gem. Many of my pieces go in and out of favor, but this is the one stone I never get tired or bored with. I know everyone has seen it numerous times, but photos really fail to capture its beauty. These are some of my favorite photos below, and it shifts to a Tanzanite violet color indoors, but my camera fails to capture its luster and dimensionality in artificial lighting
It’s not cobalt bearing that I know of, and it’s Tanzanian, not Luc Yen, but it was love at first sight.
I can’t remove the pink either but here’s my blue spinel.
Saw this - small but nice colour blue spinel from a recently found blue spinel deposit in Tanzania:

The photos you took are also very nice.I have a couple of moody blues. I hate trying to take pictures of them because I know nothing of photography/phones and they always come out with this overtly turned up grey cast and leached of blue, and I have no idea how to correct it. It isn't what the eye would see. I feel like I do them dirty.
The ring is the only one I know has cobalt.
I would love a really open blue someday that doesn't cost the earth.
Anyway, now I've solved the mystery of why they're so hard to find-
@landscape has them all!
