I know that many have posted great pics and sites for BM dresses, but here I am asking the same. I''m going back to David''s andtrying on the gown again that I like just to humor the girls and let them see how I look in a traditional wedding dress. They are going to look and maybe try some on, but I don''t want them to have to pay those prices. What other stores have good prices for dresses that can pass for BM''s? I want strapless, long length and they are all for it

How cheap do you want to go? Its funny, but a LOT of BM dresses these days are really not all that much more expensive than other dresses. For instance.. My girls dresses were $93 each from netbride.com, but I''m probably getting a $120 dress for my rehearsal dinner that looks much less formal. If you want long strapless dresses, you honestly will probably be hard pressed to find dresses cheaper than some BM dresses. Long dresses are pretty few and far between.. they are almost always "special occasion" meaning they cost as much or more than bm dresses.

BUT i recommend looking at some of the lower price-point BM dresses.
Jordan (quite a few of their dresses are available for under $100 from netbride)
Alfred Angelo tends to be reasonable
Eden
some Mori Lee''s
Dessy/AfterSix kind of has a big range.. anywhere from $100 to over $200..

Did you buy your dress at Davids? If so, your BMs will get a discount. Mine got $20 off their gowns, so they were only $90+tax.

I think Davids is definitely on the less expensive side for BM dresses. I'm not sure whether you will find dresses in non-bridal stores that will not be around the same price as Davids.

If you find a BM dress you like from a designer, netbride.com often has great discounts.

BLACK COCKTAIL DRESS!!! BLACK COCKTAIL DRESS!!! BLACK COCKTAIL DRESS!!! BLACK COCKTAIL DRESS!!! BLACK COCKTAIL DRESS!!!

This is what I''m doing and my BMs are so happy, because they can all wear what they like and know they will wear it again and again. I''m just letting them pick something out of their closet or they can buy a new one if they want.

David''s Bridal has good sales on dresses. I think they are having one right now...actually.

The cocktail dress idea is good. What color are they wearing?

I was looking around online last night and I agree Appletini- cocktail dresses. They are going to wear black, but they all do want long dresses (two are tall and the third is petite but doesn''t like showing her legs) I would love strapless too. When we go back to David''s, they plan on trying things on and seeing what works. We''re also thinking of Filene''s basement formalwear section.
I wouldn''t want them to spend any more than $100, which is really narrowing the field. I don''t have time to make them anything. If it comes down to it, they can wear different styles, just all in black and I can sew an accent sash or something on them in my dress color.

Selflove, I''m not buying my gown at David''s. I''m actually having a gown made since I didn''t want white. The girls are just curious to see how I look in a white gown.

Oooooh, what color is your dress going to be? I personally wanted to wear a red dress, but couldn''t find one.

So white it was...but I did wear red shoes.

My dress will be lilac. I really liked the gown that I tried on at David''s, but you can''t dye a wedding dress. No one will dare, unless it''s natural material and a sillk gown is way too expensive.
I''ve neve done things the ''usual'' way. This is our day to have exactly what we want. He doesn''t want a tux, I don''t want a white dress.

I think the girls and I should be able to find something affordable at the salon. Especially since David''s came out with their mix-and-match line.

David''s mix n match line is great. I wore it as a BM for one wedding, and a dress from David''s for another wedding party. Much cheaper than other places. Good luck!
