Okay, we have four cats, plus there is an outdoor cat that found our house about a month ago and he's really loving so we've adopted him, but he stays outside (as four cats that come indoors is too much as it is). Our outdoor cat, Jay-Jay, is a gorgeous Tabby. A few days back, my 5 year old son mentioned he saw another Jay-Jay outside and I thought nothing of it because there are A LOT of cats that roam around our neighborhood. There's always another cat in our yard.
But, this morning, my husband looked out the window and there was the other tabby, and it wasn't a tabby, it was a BOBCAT!!! The thing was confronting one of our housecats, Phillip, (who goes outside during the day) and chasing him. I guess Phillip ran inside with his tail puffed three times it's normal size. Also, the Jay-Jay was up on the roof hiding from the bobcat! The wild cat was about twice the size of our little domesticated animals.
Uh, I cannot believe it. I fear going outside and now my kids cannot even go outside. What if the thing is hungry and decides to attack my boys?
My husband looked and discovered it's Bobcat season! I guess we look for a trap? I'm not a gun person, but am tempted to get a pellet gun. Of course, I doubt I could aim at the thing properly.
(and just to point out, I'm NOT into hunting animals. Not at all. I've never done so. I'm just scared the animal is going to attack one of us. My husband says it is small, but still. . .)
