I tried very hard and very unsuccessfully to buy that ring, maru. It was sold before it was even listed. It's the only one I've ever seen to combine the 2 stones. Definitely an inspiration! I will go ahead and post my thread now, and hopefully get some opinions. I hope you'll chime in. Thank you!!

I think this ring was made especially for her, so maybe never really for sale? I'm curious about your interaction with the vendor though... they have gorgeous stuff! I still maintain that your ring will be even more glorious!

They are the real deal... very professional and very bougie. My one gripe is their stock. It's high-end, but rather limited. The few stones/pieces I've inquired about were all sold. And I agree; I'm not sure that spinel ring was ever actually for sale. Thank you for the encouragement, my friend!!

@CaseyLouLou The setting arrived and I took close ups of the melee, but I my camera is blurring the diamonds a little. I looked through my loupe at the diamonds and they are very clean!

Total change of direction! Went for a simple 18k gold, hand made ring. Just got this from the maker. Going for a brushed finish based on these videos. Hopefully be ready in a couple of days!

Here are my multicolor stackers!

For my first custom project of 2023 and birthday present to myself, I decided to set a few of the small gemstones I’ve been collecting into stacking rings. [Warning: photo overload coming up ]

The gems:
0.62 ct natural light gray diamond
0.84 ct Muzo emerald (minor oil)
1.66 ct Ceylon purple sapphire (no heat/treat)
0.79 ct Madagascar blue sapphire (heat only)
0.79 ct Burmese ruby (no heat/treat)
1.14 ct Loliondo spessartite garnet (no heat/treat)

The bands:
14k unplated white gold, 2mm each. I asked for different textures for all the bands, to mix things up. The bezels were the “unifying factor.” Had a little fun with the ruby, turning it into a snake ring (inspired mostly by @ItsMainelyYou ‘s snake ring).

After I received the first set of rings, I was on the lookout for a bright yellow and/or orange gemstone to complete my rainbow. I found a “Fanta garnet” spess from DesertRose and had her send it directly to DK. So my rainbow is somewhat complete! I may need a bright yellow stone at some point

I wanted to be able to stack/mix & match/pair to my heart’s desire…and these seem to be doing the trick! Amazing work by DK, as always!

Looks like the ring is very well handmade, but what color gold did you select? Hopefully it's peach gold or some variant, or maybe the lighting, but the metal is looking like brass, not gold to me.

It could also be that this is what unpolished gold looks like, and I'm ignorant, but I'd hate for you to pay for solid gold and get gold plate over brass.

This looks like a lighting issue to me, since the color in the videos above is quite different, but maybe it's a different color gold, like you suggested....

Looks like typical 14ct gold (peach indeed).

My wedding ring is 14k and the colour is somehow peach, very classic looking and it goes well with my skin.

18k is even better!

i have so much to catch up on this thread

life just got so depressing with this 30 year high inflation
i still have to keep buying food and loo paper and cat food so my fun money aka bead money dried up

but something excitting happened today and im going to string those Italian (fake) larimar beads shortly

still need to sort my phone out so i can post pictures

so my project might be small compaired to most of the lovellies on this thread but i gotta start somewhere

turns out one of our customers knotts pearls so i thought the 'larimar cooloured 'pectolite beads would be a good first test
she can also supply clasps which is just fine for this test strand, and ill have something new to wear for winter and i did love the (fake) colour

that stain is till inside my cap you know
here is the Italian pectolite beads with the Whitby jet that was never going to happen once we found out they wernt real DR larimar

oh that was some Lapis i brought to get up to freight free for something ? from India -some garnet beads i think, that didnt end up working out so one day it might become a braclete or a necklace but it is way down the list

unfortunatly when my phone died i lost my project to featured materials list

but yacking here is helping dislodge stuff out of the back of my memory

ive found it a real learning curve buying gemstone beads and im still not at all compident with sizes or for that matter findings
and now the exchange rate is worse than ever so im reevaluating the order of my to do list
i just want to make a few things wearable now (or for the winter)

the jet are the black round beads with the butt ugly fake gold findings sticking out of them
i think the jet may have been vintage/antique but the arrangment was retro ugly
i am determined to make them nicer and restore them to some sort of past glory and the rose quartz will cheer them up because if they were antique they may have been mourning jewlery (hopefully in nicer findings than when i brought them)

the smallest jet beads are new because i have a fat neck and it was going to be too tight
it was quite hard tracking down genuine Whitby jet beads

it does feel like fun again
this has been a very long slow burn of a project

edited to say i think im talking about 2 diiferent but kind of related projects
this is the fake dyed larimar to be the tester necklace and the jet will go with rose quartz beads, i just need to get a nice silver clasp

this is what it looked like when i overpaid for it

no -that didnt fit my neck but it was too ugly to wear too
