Boy Soon vs Girl Soon

Please excuse me for the newbie question!!! There is a lot of discussion about "boy soon" and "girl soon", and I was wondering what sort of time frames ladies are referring to when they say this. For me, I think my girl soon is actually longer than my BF''s boy soon. What are other ladies experiences with this?

When I talk about girl soon vs boy soon, I don''t really have specific timeframes in mind. It''s just that it often happens that the boyfriend will start talking about a proposal "soon", but he proposes a year later, when the girlfriend thought he meant a month later. Those are arbitrary numbers, but you get the idea.

An example is my boyfriend and I. He started telling me he was thinking about proposing "soon" in September, which made me think he would propose on Christmas. And then he told me a few weeks ago he''ll propose in 2006, I''m guessing in August. For him, in a year is "soon", but for me, "soon" was on Christmas.

Needless to say, that sort of thing can create a lot of frustration. But we talked, and now that I know for a fact that he''s going to propose in 2006, I''m very happy with that.

My soon: now His soon: before the end of the Christmas Holidays, but only becuase I know it will be sometime in the next three weeks.
