well, the final results are in....I applied to five schools and recieved accpetances to NYU and Columbia. I still haven''t heard about the Fulbright and am waiting for a spot to open up for Middlebury this summer. Tommorrow I''m off to New York for visiting day!

Thanks for letting me brag

Matatora, did you hear back from Baylor?
Anchor, are you for sure transferring?
I know someone got into a graduate penn program for next year as well as Kaleigh''s daughter...and then MaryAlania''s girl got into MIT...
MINE!!''s hubby is getting his book published...

Bragging rights, people! Post your SO''s, you, your kids acceptances, honors, or new jobs for next year here!

Rainbowtrout, congratulations!!!! As an NYU alumna, I'm slightly partial but these are two fantastic schools--I was actually accepted to both for my bachelor's and chose NYU. I studied film, so for me it was kind of a no-brainer as NYU's Tisch School of the Arts is tops for film. But it was still hard to say no to Columbia! Whichever you choose, you can't go wrong. Good for you!!!

The only thing that I can brag about is that my husband and I are buying a condo in Manhattan!!!! This is a HUGE thing for us as we're both New Yorkers and have been renting forever so to finally have the opportunity to own real estate in New York City is just a major accomplishment! We had a big champagne celebration when we got approved for the mortgage--maybe that was the big accomplishment

. We'll probably be eating dirt for a while but it will all be worth it!!!

We got really lucky because the building we are renting in is being converted to condominiums so we get exclusive first rights to our apartment for a 90 day period but we're actually going to upgrade and buy a bigger unit in the building that is vacant. They are going to renovate the whole thing for us before we move in. It was hard to write that down payment check but we are thrilled to be "homeowners" in NYC!!!

We're trying to see how much we can get done in our first year of marriage. It hasn't even been 2 months yet and we're well on our way!

Congratulations!

Curlygirl, where are you buying an apartment? My boyfriend and I are probably going to renew our lease this summer for our apartment. It sucks to rent, but we love it here so much that if we were to look to buy something similar it would be way out of our pay range!

an apt in NYC is *definitely* a major accomplishment!

Amanda, we''re in Murray Hill. If you''re interested in looking, they are having open houses on Sunday from 1-4. Look in the Times this weekend, I think the building is now called Morgan Park Condominiums--so much better than a co-op (no board approval)!
