The bride whose wedding I am in next fall is concerned about whether or not the BM dresses we selected before she bought her bridal gown will clash with her gown.

The gowns we chose are Watters WTOO 416 and will be in dark brown.

Her gown is Paloma Blanca #3951.

I think her chief concern is about the contrast in textures between the silk of her gown and the flowy chiffon of ours.

What do you think?

I think she''s going a little bit nutty... It will be fine! If that''s the only thing she has to stress about, she''s doing great!!

I don''t think it''s a big deal at all! Is the wedding in the spring or summer? I do think chiffon can be out of place during colder times of the year, but I don''t think it would be out of place next to any wedding dress.

I put them into a Word document together and looked at them side by side. I think the matching necklines and the fact that they both have sashes make the look cohesive enough but she will stand out nicely with her shinier fabric against our matte fabric.

I'm having a hard time finding the PB dress, can you post a picture of both?

ETA: Have you already bought the dresses, or is this a decision that can be changed without loss of money?

I think they look great together, and I doubt the fabric will be a problem. I personally chose to have my bridesmaids dress in the same fabric as my wedding dress, but it''s definitely not a requirement. I think the shape and styles of the dresses are similar enough that they won''t clash.

I found it and I think they will look fine together. They have similar shapes and the tie does coordinate the styles well.

Her dress is purchased and it looks divine on her. Our gowns are not yet purchased.

I''ll post a collage of the two dresses.

The wedding is in early October.

I think they look just fine together! I don''t think they clash; the bride is supposed to look different. (By the way, my girls seriously considered that WTOO dress, but ended up with the Watters 2581. I think the one you chose is gorgeous!)

I think the necklines compliment each other nicely!

They look beautiful together she has no worries :D

I can see where she''s coming from with the different fabric textures, but really, I like that the gowns aren''t too matchy-matchy... To second everyone else: the similar necklines make the look cohesive. I think they''ll look lovely :)

I think they look great together! Bridal magazines try to make us think that everything needs to match perfectly, but style differences that tie together well are so much more interesting

I think that that is a fantastic pairing! No worries!!

We''ve decided to go ahead with the dresses I posted. She talked to the other BMs and we all told her that we like the way the dress looks and that we''re happy with the price. Its also tough for us to all get together and look for more options. We went to THREE bridal salons in Boston back in October and tried on countless gowns between the 3 of us and this was really the only good option that looks great on everyone. Since I live near Philly and one of the BMs is going abroad for 6 months TOMORROW finding a new one just isn''t convenient.

I told her what I said on here about the necklines and sash and she agreed that it should be fine. She does tend to worry about stuff and I think that hearing from all of us that we love it and we think it looks great she feels much better about it.

Thanks for the input! Its nice to have your thoughts reaffirmed by an outside perspective.
