bridal shower at work

My friends from work throw me a surprise bridal shower today. I was really not expecting anything and kept it low key becuase I didn''t want anyone go out of their way!! they put a lot of work into it even made a beautiful wedding cake for me.
I didn''t register because we are not having a ''wedding''. It''s just us and the kids, no reception, no music, just a simple ceremony and dinner for us. so I didn''t register anywhere. my friends collected CASH from over 20 people from work and came up with over $300... I really don''t know what to do at this point. I feel so bad. now I wish I had register

I could donated and put everyone''s name on it or use it back on them? buy them all nice breakfast??

do you guys thinks that''s appropriate?

No! Use it to buy things you need/want. Write them all gracious thank you notes. I think they would be taken aback if they found you donated the money or bought them gifts with the money. They intend it to be for YOU and your new hubby!

Wow, they put a ton of work into that cake!

Regarding the cash, I definitely think they want you to use it for something you want. I think it would be wonderful to get the names of everyone involved, and write them all thank yous, however.

regarding the gift- accept it graciously, write a thank you note, and spend it on your honeymoon, or for something meaningful for you and your DH!

Agree with the others.....your sweet co-workers gave that for YOU and your FI to use!! GO on a weekend getaway or take a day trip with the kids....or buy something great that you WOULD have registered for and send them TY notes! But it is for YOU!!
