Does anyone have any good suggestions for places online to look to order bridal shower invitations? My mom and I are in charge of ordering the invitations and helping to host my cousin's bridal shower in July. We want to mail out the invitations by the last week of June to give us at least 4 weeks.

She's visiting a local print shop Monday that has many invitations you can order through them. But we're trying to stay away from the high-end invitation shops around here, since they tend to be fairly expensive in our limited experience with that.

Online, I've found a few I like:
www.weddingpaperdivas.com
www.invitationplantation.com

We need to get to ordering soon, I'd assume, to give us time for processing/shipping and to get them out in time. Are there any online places you guys like to use or have good experiences with? I'd like to use this time to get some DIY experience, but I don't have the time to at this point (I have no idea how to do any of that

Aw come on, I know there have to be some suggestions out there.

I did a little more reading on here, and some people who designed and printed them themselves used anchorpaper.com, paper-source.com, and Michaels. I may look into that.

There are so many helpful threads on here with the absolutely beautiful DIY wedding invitations. But so many of them are pocket invitations, and we''re just looking for more simple ones for the shower.

To make simple shower invitations I would get some nice card stock (linen finish is my favorite for text) from Staples or Office Depot (I got the stuff for my invites from an office store- $15 for 100 sheets) and then pick out a color coordinating to your theme (or her wedding colors) for a card stock mat from a craft store.

You can design your invites to print out on a regular sheet of paper so you can use whatever card stock you purchase in your own printer. Another option is a store like Kinkos that will do laser color printing on your own card stock for a manageable fee. Then you can advantage of the paper cutter to chop up your bits and pieces.

I recommend scrap booking squares to adhere the layers together.

I found a cheap website recently with all sorts of colored envelopes. I''ll dig it up in the morning and post the link.

Good luck!

You can always check on etsy as well--they have some really cute stuff!

They aren''t online, but my mom got mine at Hallmark. They were reasonable and I got my wedding invites from them too. They print their own and will accomodate pretty much anything. My sister got my bachelorette party invites at Swoozie''s-not sure if you have one by you but they have some really cute stuff! They also have invites you can purchase and print yourself.

My MOH got my shower invitations from a seller on etsy. I''m not sure who it was, but if you do a search, there are a ton of options.

I was going to post on my cousin's shower later this week but here are the invites I DIY'ed for her:

ETA - we did a very casual 'picinic' themed shower for my cousin, so they are probably not what you are looking for, but they were very easy to make. I diid 30 in about 3 hours or so.

There are also some cute print your own invites at Paper Source: We are going to use These for our rehearsal dinner, but there are some other nice options both in their shower and everyday categories.

I got some very nice, and IMO very affordable, invitations from Vista Print (www.vistaprint.com) for a friend''s shower this spring. You can do a fair amount of customizing, and I got so many compliments on the invite design I chose. Good luck! I can try and take a picture of it tonight if you are interested.

Wow, thank you all so much!!!! I apologize for my delayed reaction - haven't been able to get on here much recently.

JerseyGrl - Thank you for the links - I took a look and those are great sites!

Clairitek - Thank you SO much for the tips - those are awesome directions and exactly what I need to hear. What bits and pieces are you talking about to cut up?

ladypirate and musincy - I'll definitely check out Etsy!

Blair138 - I'd never once considered Hallmark, haha, and that's my Mom's all-time go-to store too! And my mom actually found a Swoozies close to us - I'd never even heard of it. Thanks!

Morgie44 - I really like those! Hers is going to be casual and just sort of a summery feel I think. Those you made look so great!! Thanks so much for the info. Did you make the envelopes too?

stephbolt - Ah I'd forgotten about them. I'll check that out too - thanks!

Such great info

The matting and the actual invite since you can print more than one invite per page depending on the size.
