i assumed that showers were held saturdays afternoons (just seemed most convenient), but am reading that Sunday afternoon is traditional.

when are you having yours or what''s been typical of the ones you''ve attended?

Most of the bridal showers I've gone to have been on a Saturday. Right now I'm scheduled to have 4 showers and anticipating one more.

Two of the showers will be on a Saturday, one on a Sunday (shower from our church), and one during the week (from my office).

For the most part it's socializing, finger foods, cake/punch, possibly some games, and gift opening. HTH!

mine was on a sunday. i think most bridal/baby showers i''ve gone to have also been on sundays.

Mine was on a Saturday, but I''m also out of town and it was the one weekend day that I was there on that visit to the area.

Mine was on a Friday evening. One I was at last year was a Saturday afternoon. I don''t think there''s really a hard and fast rule. Just giving people ample time to put it in their planner would be the main thing.

2 of the showers that are being thrown for me are going to be on Sunday afternoons. It seemed that Sundays worked better for people in my area because Saturdays tend to get pretty swamped.

I think either Saturday or Sunday could be lovely though.

My wedding showers (and my baby showers) have to be on saturdays since I am from out of state, moms and sisters live in seperate states. I think it is easier so we can all fly out on sunday so they can all go back to work on monday.
