Bridal smiles...

I''ve got a Groom Smile:
I took a bunch of our stuff to the drycleaners recently and had to register, so I filled out the form as myFirstName HisLastName. I figured since we''d be married in a couple of months that I might as well.

They sent me a ''thank you for your business'' card, and when my fi looked at the mail and saw myname hislastname, he got this huge smile.

I had one this weekend... we were wrapping up Christmas presents and even though I did most of the shopping, we were trying to decide what presents were from which one of us and he said 'Just put both our names on everything...' and it was sort of an 'aha moment' in that indeed, we are a family. Next year I won't even have to wonder... It was kind of weird writing 'Mother' on the presents for his mom when I'm used to writing her name. I don't think I'll EVER call her mother, but I can write it as long as I write his name first!

My bridal smile is close to yours sumbride. FI and I went Christmas shopping yesterday and on our way to the mall FI says "I think we should just do joint Christmas presents for everyone this year." There's a definite "we are a family now" feeling and I love it . Also, today I got my dog a nametag and tried to put "Chloe MYLASTNAME" but my maiden name was too long so I put FI's lastname and my soon-to-be last name on it. Everytime I look at it I smile real big.

One more...hehe. FI has been eyeing this amazing couch for sometime now so while we were Christmas shopping I could tell he was getting tired and told him to go into Z Gallerie and sit on his couch while I finished up. He insisted that I come sit with him for a little bit so I do. After sitting and chatting a few minutes he tells me that he's serious and really wants to buy the couch but wants my opinion since it will be in "our" living room once we're married!

In my mind I knew this, but him pointing out that the couch would be in our home made me smile!

We have a friend and neighbor who ran for office last fall. He didn''t win, but he''s planning to run again and we''re highly supportive of him. We just got a campaign letter addressed to Mr. & Mrs.! I told FI and he just sort of shrugged... oh, ok. I guess when I told him our wedding date at our Christmas party it didn''t stick... We still have 10 months to go!
