Okay, would a wedding suit (white or cream, etc) look too old on a 36 yr old bride? I''m thinking a corset dress with jacket or pencil skirt with corset top with jacket. Jazzed up with a knock-out bead necklace or other pop of color (shoes, anyone?) It''s for a Sunday noon wedding, just 60 guests all family and closest friends. Semi-formal attire.

What do you think? Any pictures of something similar?

Hmm...I''m not crazy about the idea, honestly. Plus, to me a suit doesn''t = semi-formal attire. It''s more casual than that. And if it''s a summer or spring wedding, won''t a suit be too hot? Sorry to be a negative nelly but I guess I am not seeing your vision! Maybe a picture would help?

With that said, if it''s your style and something you want, then of course you should get it! But since you seemed to want opinions I gave you mine!

Amended: a corset or fitted top, but not strapless. Scoopneck or something similar. Sleeveless or cap sleeves.

I can see a suit (Carrie in SATC movie) but it also doesn''t strike me as being semi-formal. I''m going to go poke around and see what I find...

Maybe something like this?

That is gorgeous! Okay, if it''s a suit like that I can get behind it.

FrekeChild and Thing2of2, thanks for your in put. If it helps with the context, we''re getting married this mid-October, so I can definitely use some type of cover up. I want something ultra feminine and am just concerned a suit runs the risk of looking cold, too old for me, dowdy, etc. Would love some suggestions!

I like the color pops (blue shoes, yellow clutch) in SATC, but perhaps a more form fitted suit overall. And the length that suits me (pun intended!) is right below the knee.

How about something like this by Romona Keveza with a matching shrug or jacket?

i like the suit that Freke posted a lot. I think if you go with LUX fabric, like a silk or brocade you can def. do semi-formal. I think the key to making it look semi-formal and special is to stay away from the cotton stretch...I''m thinking Express suitinig, type of stuff. They do that whole pencil skirt, cropped jacket thing and that seems not nearly dressy enough.
I also think a shift dress with a jacket over it might be really nice. I don''t know your budget, but Chanel would be gorgeous!

I prefer this to a suit. But if you decide to do the suit, I think you can find one that won''t make you look old or dowdy. I too like the one Freke posted.

I don''t know why you couldn''t rock a suit like the one you''ve described! I think the problem will be finding it without making a trip to Italy.

Here are some suits, not necessarily white, that might serve as inspiration. Sorry about the lack of clickable links!

Ooh, my cousin did this! I wasn''t there, but I saw the pictures and I thought it was one of the sexiest things I''ve ever seen

From what you wrote, my cousin''s style may not be what you have in mind, but I just wanted to show you that it can be done

The front view is too bland for me, but I love the back!

Lol! And here I was thinking I couldn''t get away with wearing pants down the aisle! Who knew!

(Seriously, I''ve never seen it before. And I think it''s awesome!)

Wow!

I think it''s a great idea, and provided it''s a sexy, fitted cut, won''t be too "old" at all. I would probably go with the dress + jacket rather than pencil skirt, so you can take the jacket off if it gets too warm and still look dressed up.

I LOVE that one!!

If you got a really feminine-looking suit, I think it''d be fine. But you don''t want to look like you''re going to church on Easter Sunday.
