Bridesmaid-tastic!

I just wanted to post because one of my best friends is getting married next summer and has asked me to be a bridesmaid! I'm super excited--the other local BM, she and I are getting together this weekend to start planning.

Also, she asked if as my wedding gift, I would make their cake. I love this girl like a sister and I'm just thrilled that she is getting married and wants me so involved! I just had to post and share my excitement.

I love cake, too! I''ll probably make some cupcakes of various types over the next few months so she can decide on flavors & fillings. Yum!

What''s your favorite kind of cake? I like super rich chocolate cake, red velvet cake, and carrot cake.

LOL, Bia! I think I may suggest different flavors for different tiers, so everyone can have something they like! I'm partial to chocolate myself, though.

This is my first time being a bridesmaid--only a couple of my friends have gotten married and this is the first really close one. I guess we never went through the spat of people getting married right out of college. We all wanted to wait until we were a bit older, I guess. I'm really excited!

Yay! I will probably be picking your brain at some point.

They''ve narrowed it down to August of next year, but she doesn''t have an exact date yet. They want to do it in a city park, so that means they have to reserve it the first business day in January. Yay for camping outside the Parks & Recreations building in the middle of winter to make sure they get the site/date they want! LOL.

I went to a bridal show with my "best" friend before I was engaged and they had a bunch of different samples of cake. I tried a guava and cheese cake just out of curiousity.

Cake! I''m with you on the super rich chocolate. Too bad my SO hates all sweets(actually just the smell makes him ill sometimes)...so our wedding will probably be sans cake.

Guess I''ll just have to live vicariously through all my friends! So keep the cake talk coming!
