Well, I''m a bit of a DIY kind of person. So, when I saw this veil that I loved for $350, I thought to myself that I could easily do it for much less. I''m just going to add a line of beads and pearls to the edge.

But first I need to find an elbow length, oval cut veil with no edge. I noticed when I was trying on veils that there is a difference in types of tulle. Does anyone know what this is? I don''t want something that is crisp feeling, I''d rather it be soft and flowy.

I found a veil online for $35 at paradise-veils.com, but how do I know what type of tulle it is? Has anyone else bought a veil online or seen any great deals? I''m also open to get a used one.

I bought a veil online from ebay. The tulle was definitely rougher than the tulle from my store-bought veil, but honestly, when it is on, I can''t tell a difference.

Tulle is a weave of fabric, not the type of fabric, so it can be made out of lots of different materials. Silk tulle is the softest and most flowing but is also quite delicate and sheer. My veil was silk tulle and I LOVE LOVE LOVED it, but it cost almost as much as my dress! You don''t HAVE to go that route! Other types of tulle are nylon and rayon. I think nylon is the kind you see most often.

I bought my veil online (ebay from a store called veilsnmore). It''s a lady in MO (I think) who hand makes all the veils so you an give her specific instructions.

I originally bought a veil through the bridal store where I bought my dress for $175 (I had to order it because I wanted cathedral length).... once it came in it was the ugliest thing I''ve ever put on my head... and the store would not give me a refund (yes I know I got ripped off... they were nasty to deal with). Anyway I needed to quickly buy a new veil (and couldn''t afford to spend a lot since I''d already bought the first one) so I took a chance on ebay. The veil was beautiful... and only cost $30 (with shipping!!!). It was a very soft tulle that just flowed. I was very very pleasantly surprised.

In fact I just got off the phone with my former boss (who was a guest at my wedding). She needed to know where I bought my veil because her daughter needs one.

Since we''re talking about veils I have a question. My dress is ivory but really looks white. Should I purchase a white veil or ivory veil?

Get a swatch. : )

I ordered my veil online. It's waiting at post office. Obridal.com was highly recommended on the knot. I'll let you know what I think when it's in my hands (today or tomorrow).
