Buying Sapphire Earrings!

Hello all! I’d love some advice on buying sapphire earrings with diamond cluster around. Something like the Princess Diana ring but either in a square cushion or radiant or other symmetric shape (and obviously the stud version instead of the ring version!)

I know I want a very saturated bright blue and am focused on it being very eye clear.. that being said I have never bought sapphires before and feel overwhelmed! What should I keep in mind as I’m buying and any recommendations on jewellers other than Diamonds by Lauren (which I feel like I am gravitating towards)?

I’m so sad this which was being sold on Pricescope got snatched up this year.. and this which was also recently sold on Diamonds by Lauren looks lovely

I could potentially be open to rounds as it seems much more common and know Diamonds by Lauren has one here but I wonder if the stones look too different and would bother me.

Would love any and all advice on finding or commissioning the perfect earrings

I am sure that others will come and give you much more educated colored stone advice than I can but you may just want to reach out to David at diamondsbylauren and talk to them about it. They have seemed to have some really pretty pairs in the past.

I will say that I was looking for a pair of pink sapphires to create some earrings and Jeff White told me that sapphires are incredibly difficult to match for pairs so I gave up and went with spinels.

Just saying that to say that some small color difference in an earring pair may be just to be expected.

You could always reach out to jewelers like David Klass, he may be able to source a pair and make what you want
