Above is the CAD of my newly made ring. I asked for the setting to be 14K white gold with a yellow gold head due to a U-V color center stone. Just curious why the platinum is there? Is that to reinforce the head before doing the yellow gold? Or where was the platinum used?

Thanks in advance for your help.......

Ask your vendor, but to me that just looks like a listing of if you chose 14k WG, your final weight would be X, if you chose platinum your final weight would be X++. Not a statement of
these are the metals that will be used.

Thanks for your response, yes I wondered if that was what it meant. A hypothetical thing like depending upon which metal the customer chooses, this much metal will be used.

I'm pretty sure David Klass's CADs have the plat weight on them too even though you may not be getting platinum. May just
be a default type template they start with that calculates all the weights of the different metals for them.

Thanks!
