Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

LOL I had a funny grocery store encounter today too. I was waiting in line at the deli counter and my turn came up. The guy took my order, looked at my belly and said "having a boy, eh?" I was speechless and this is the first random stranger comment/belly interaction I've had. He went on to tell me he has 4 sons and a daughter and that boys and girls sit differently.

I dont really belong in here

HH-When my grandfather visited while I was pregnant, he had me stand up and after taking one look he said I was having a girl. I asked him what made him think that and he said "I had 5 boys, 2 girls and I have 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. That baby is a girl."

Two weeks later the tech confirmed ;)

Oh my goodness... so much to catch up on!

Jas! Congratulations!!! Welcome to the world, Kate!

Lulu, Nora is absolutely beautiful!!!  Thanks for the tips on the must-haves, too. It definitely comes in handy!

Allie! How wonderful for your sister! It'll be great to have cousins so close in age, right? DH's brother and his FI are expecting a month before us. It's so exciting!

Icekid!! Congrats on team blue! I'm not very good at these predictions - I think I'm 0 for 2 so far! Can't wait to see the 4D shots! Interesting too that it's consistant with your dreams... I had a girl dream in the beginning, and recently I had a boy dream. Hmm.

HMG - You look fantastic!! I'm sorry you're helping to keep the zofran makers in business, though!

Noel! Congrats on team pink!!! Beautiful u/s pics, too! So, the Chinese predictor thing was wrong, huh? haha

Kunzite... Yay for your NT results!!! I hear ya about the weird looks! We tell people we're not finding out right away, and they look at you like you've got a third head! lol

Something Shiny - You really are glowing!!! GREAT belly pic! I love it, you look wonderful!!! Easy labor dust your way!!!

Pupp... lots of good vibes your way... you're almost there!

Split... I think we may have the same MIL  I agree with the others... True story: My mom re-used her sister's crib for all of us. The crib had to be 20 years old by the time my younger brother used it. Until one night he fell through the bottom of the crib! My mom heard a crash, and he was still sound asleep on the mattress on the floor when she rushed to check on him! So yes, much better safe than sorry!!

Turtle, HH and fiery... Funny stranger stories!! that's crazy that some people just know, huh?

Okay. I know it's not Friday, but I just snapped this about 20 minutes ago. I'm 17w1d today. I bet I'll carry just like my mom did with her first... she didn't pop til almost 7 months!

DSCF0473.jpg

Lynnie! OMG you're teeny tiny for 17 weeks! I feel like I was almost as big as I am now at 17 weeks.

I'm having an "oh $hit" moment today....I'm going to be 30 weeks tomorrow. Yes, the big 3-0! I'm having a harder time coming to terms with this than I did when I turned 30 years old in April!!!! I don't know where the last 12 weeks went, it seems like just yesterday I was 18 weeks and finding out we were having a boy. And the thought that I could pop anytime in the next 6-10 weeks makes me want to pee in fear! I'm so not ready mentally. I mean, I can't wait to hold Aidan, but OMG I'm not READY ready!

Does anyone have a recipe for extra tasty crispy baby? I'd like him to bake about 2 weeks longer. I think I'll be ready in another 12 weeks...

Belly pics to come later today once my phone charges. I totally forgot to do it on Friday.

Also, have any of you dared try on regular clothes while pregnant? This is more for the 20+ weekers I guess. I went to Target yesterday to find a dress to wear to my shower this Saturday and hated the selection of maternity stuff (big surprise). Anyway, they had a ton of cute regular dresses on clearance so I took a risk and tried some on. I'm not sure how I did it, but I managed to get my big 180 lb butt into a size 14 sheath dress, comfortably! And I even asked people if it passed the "socially acceptable" test, and it did! I actually felt pretty good about myself, because I've been a 14 before and have lost it so I know I can do it again!

I didn't get that dress, I found another one in a much lighter fabric and went with that, but I might go back and get the other one.

Lynnie~ Holy cow, I would never believe you were pregnant let alone 17 weeks!! You're gonna be all tummy when you're at term!

HH~ I've been wearing lots of regular clothes, even now. Maternity shirts/dresses just don't fit me well. I'm better off with a size or two bigger in regular stuff. Plus, I can still wear it AFTER baby!

My grandpa is a great gender predictor too. He even told my grandma I was preggo before I knew!

I'm still not over the "twins" comment though.

I think JT and I are running to my mom's today for a while. DH has tomorrow off (he works second shift and didn't want to come home to immediately turn around for the hospital wed morn). I'll do some final cleaning stuff today (because at this point the house CANNOT get clean enough!) and repack for everyone. I'd still like to go into labor on my own before the c-section Wed. I was induced with JT and this section is planned so I've never experienced the "OMG" moment of labor. Heck, I'd settle to just see my plug! (which, btw, DH's in general think is absolutely disgusting!) :Up_to_something: DH has suggested DTD on Tues just to see if it puts me into labor (and admittedly because it will be a while before we can again :(( ) but I kinda have a yuck feeling about DTD hours before having a dr root around in there, yanno??

Anywho, I'm just rambling now. I think my nerves are starting....

Congrats to Split Shank and Ice Kid for joining team blue!!!

Congrats to Noelwr for joing team pink!!!

Lovely - Nora is gorgeous  - you must be one proud mama! ::) Sounds like everything is going well for you and that you've had a pretty smooth transition! Looking forward to hearing your birth story! Thanks for tips - question for you (or anyone else) regarding the Baby K'tan. Is there any difference between that and the moby wrap? Just wondering...

Any other must haves we should be aware of? My shower is coming up on August 7th so, I've been trying to finalize my registries, but I feel like I'm missing things. BTW - my sister-in-law has the Uppa Baby and LOVES it too. Wish they made a twin model, but I'm hoping the baby jogger city select that we ended up getting is just as smooth. I heard many good things about it from urban twin moms in neighborhood.

******************************************

Things with me are plugging along at 25 weeks. Going to two pediatric open-houses next week. We are leaning towards one over the other because they are affiliated with the hospital I'm delivering at. The Drs. are very familiar with twins and also have seperate well and sick rooms. However, we felt like we need something else to compare it too.

Found out at my 24-week appt. that I'm slightly anemic so, I've been taking iron supplements. They've definitely helped me with my breathing issues too, so that's good. I also passed my glucose test which I'm happy about! :appl:

We found out this weekend that good friends of ours are also pregnant with twins!! They are due on New Year's so, not too far behind us. We are thrilled for them because they've been trying for a couple of years and ended up going th IVF route. They've also had some miscarriages under their belts so, it was great news to hear! That makes 5 of my girlfriends here in the city preggo! I also have 3 other friends who are preggo from back home. Crazy!

Anyway, that's my quick update. Hope you all are doing well and staying cool! :wavey:

Okay here's my late addition to BPF. 30 weeks tomorrow.

BTW, the dress (totally unflattering and shapeless from this angle) was a $20 steal from Target. It's in the regular section and is more comfortable than any maternity clothes i have.

Hi preggos. Don't know if any of you are members on the Mini Social, but it's one of those websites where you "join" for free, and then get access to sales- this one is baby related. Anyways, today they have Nurseryworks (cribs, rockers, etc.) but also they have the cutest bedding on sale. It's by Modern Basics and one is frogs and one is hippos. It's like 75% off. Kinda boy looking though. Just wanted to pass it on in case anyone is looking for that kind of stuff!

thanks! nora is pretty cute if I do say so myself :cheeky:

brief catch up:

Laine - I'm so happy that you came back with such great news!! Hurray for good health

Pupp - hope that little one stays put!! I'll be sending no-labor vibes your way

blushing - the k'tan carrier is similar to a moby (soft, cotton, number of different positions) but it isn't a wrap, rather it's two loops of fabric that I prefer because it's faster/easier to put on.

charger - nico is a doll

jas - hope that everything went well with Kate's appointment and can't wait to see photos!!

something - lily will be here soooo soon. can't wait.

everyone else! keep on baking healthy babies

19+2

Ok, finally time to catch up and post the awaited photos!

puppmom- Sorry to hear about the visit to L&D, but glad Nolan is well and staying put for a bit longer. Oh, and Mara is right about the station at minus 2 being still up above the cervix.

Lovely- Nora is so sweet

HMG- You are looking fabulously cute! I so cannot wait for you to have your NT scan... it is such an amazing/surreal experience. By the way, I am still taking my zofran daily and there is hell to pay when forgotten :knockout:

noelwr- Aww, congrats on your precious little girl! There is a serious run on blue around here and we were certainly in need of a little pink. Cute photos!!

Kunzite- Hooray for your wonderful NT results. It's so wonderful to know that all is well, isn't it?!

ss- So close to the arrival of miss lily!! :appl: You look like a wonderfully READY and happy mommy!

Lynnie- You looks great!! When is your anatomy ultrasound? All thought of keeping the sex secret went out the window when we found out. Everyone wanted to be excited with us NOW. oh well!!

HH- Cute dress! And even better that it's not maternity.

Blushing- Yay on the glucose test!! And how nice to have more preggo friends to commiserate with

------------------------------------------

Ok, so the details on the superfun anatomy ultrasound. It was really so cool. And still so surreal- still hard to believe that he is in my belly! Much like our first ultrasound, baby Jumper is a nut and could not manage to stay still. No wonder I can feel him so much already. And can I mention it feels lovely to be able to assign and pronoun to him even though his name is still undecided.

I think my favorite part of the sex revealing was telling my little brother about his little nephew-to-be. When he found out that it is a boy he replied "YES!!!!!!!!!!!" and that he was secretly hoping for a boy. And will teach him to skate as soon as he can walk (little bro is a professional minor league hockey player.) Totally warmed my heart to know how excited my big tough brother is about our little guy...

ok, and the important part- photos! This is my first time doing this on new PS so let's hope it goes okay.

Icekid- so cute!! Love the one where he's sucking his thumb!!!!!

For those of you 'gifted' with stretch marks during pregnancy, where did they seem to pop up at? Hips? Lower abdomen? Back? I've been using the stretch mark cocoa butter cream religiously but if I use it too much on my low back I break out. Just wondering where I should be focusing my massage :)

Testing bc I wrote a LOOOONG post and it didn't post. :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

OK it seems to be working, and I just noticed I need to switch my picture.

Let's see if I can remember what I wrote. I hate the new PS!!!

HOU -- Yay for the little belly! I didn't have to pay anything extra to find out the sex. It's literally a check box. They didn't tell me, but I think that's bc they were more focused on the high risk results. I had to wait another 3 weeks to find out. But for you, they should do it. And the lady that does the blood draw (Kanisha I think?) was the best. Seriously didn't feel it at all. I wrote her an outstanding comment on the rec card at the end! Hope you feel better soon.

Somethingshiny -- I can't believe someone yelled TWINS out at you. That's so rude. I think you look great, and beautiful, and...ready to get that little critter out!

HH -- I have that same dress from Target, but it's in purple! I love it!

Noel -- Congrats on a little girl! I can't wait to see what you name her! I love the sweet photos!

Lynnie -- you look fantastic! I was that way up until about 2 weeks ago and then BAM! Enjoy the flat stomach!

Icekid -- Such sweet u/s photos! I love them! I'm glad to have a Blue Momma with me!

split_shank -- I was wondering that same thing! I've been putting it all around my belly and my sides. Hope that's good.

As for me, my OB referred me to an endocrinologist bc of hypothyroid issues that have come up since pregnancy. UGH. As if this pregnancy wasn't already hard on me. Don't know what it entails, but probably lots of blood draws.

And I'm in a different situation with my belly apparently...I'm having a boy, but I've had 3 people look at my belly and say Girl. One lady is absolutely convinced of it. She's a grandma and a know-it-all and I didn't have the heart to tell her she's wrong!

AND...I'm in the throws of looking at crib bedding. I don't like anything online and was considering getting someone on Etsy to do it, but that's a little pricier too. For current moms that are stylish but on a budget, is it worth shelling out the money? It's so cute in a nursery, but I don't want to plunk down lots of money if it's just a blur after the baby is born. But it's soooo cute!

Lanie I agonized over bedding for a long time and finally found the perfect set on clearance at Homegoods for $40. I was going to go with a PBK set before then. So it's kind of a crap shoot. I just plain don't like a lot of the pricier sets, especially with having a boy. Even the boy sets screamed feminine to me. I'm also not big on baby blue/brown/yellow/green or animals so that cut out a huge portion of the selection. What are you thinking for a theme or color scheme? Another thing to remember is that most sets come with the bumper, quilt, diaper stacker, etc, when all you really need/want at first is the skirt, sheet and maybe a valance or other accent piece. So you could always post on Alchemy (Etsy) for a custom job with just the items that you want. Or if you find a vendor who you like you could always ask if they'd be willing to do an a'la carte deal for just the items you need and not the rest.

Lanie- From a BTDT mom- I bought the whole bedding set and we never use it. Once he got into his crib, the bumper came off and we switched to a plain blue PB sheet. The comforter was never used, so basically we have the crib skirt on there. It's definitely not worth spending a ton of money. That being said- I was told that before I had O and I didn't care. There is something about decorating your first nursery, and I get the impulse. It's a way of connecting and planning and dreaming about your first child, and also a way to pass those interminable last months! For me also, I spend a lot of time in his nursery and I'm glad that I made it into a pleasing space for both me and him. The bedding really tied the room together for me and helped me pick out all of the other stuff. So I guess my advice is, try to find something you like but is super cheap. I got a Dwell set, which I loved, but got it 75% off so even if I never used it, I wasn't out much. I think Dwell makes a line for Target that is cute and cheap. The other option is to use colors you like and just do a sheet and crib skirt in neutral colors, and then use other things in the room as decoration (lamps, art, sticker decals, etc.). I think EB did this and she had an adorable nursery. Just my 2 cents! But bedding sets are definitely one of those things that most moms say was unnecessary.

17w3d

you'll have to wait til she's born to find out her name! I was supposed to come up with the names because I'm carrying this kid around for 9 months so I thought that was the least DH could give me. he agreed to it, but when we were cruising the Caribbean one day we were on a catamaran on our way to snorkeling and he leaned over to me and said, "What do you think of the name ..... for a girl?" and I loved it from the start, so that's her name. (the name has nothing to do with the cruise or catamaran, btw)

Lynnie - you are really tiny! as much as I love my baby bump I could have waited a little longer for it to get so big. I guess I don't have strong abdominal muscles to keep it in, plus I got extra fat padding.

icekid - Jumper is such a cutie! our lil girl wasn't so active with this scan. I guess she was either sleeping or probably really snug in there.

Lanie - you're the So You Think You Can Dance fan, right? I can't believe Alex was eliminated! I didn't watch the last results show, but found out on the web. he was my favorite.

Lanie, another vote here for the Dwell stuff - Target has a mix and match line that is SO cute. One of my favs is the one with the little robots. Otherwise, you can look for deals. I spent too much - like $200, but like ChinaCat said, it's just so dang exciting to finish the nursery! And, on a more important note, good luck at the Endo!

SplitShank, I don't have any *new* stretch marks from this pregnancy (at least that I can see!)but def don't think you need to worry about your low back. My existing stretchmarks are on my hips and I know a lot gals get them on their belly - some all over and some really low. I've been using the cocoa butter oil and that's really easy to slather on.

Ice, I'm so glad your ultrasound was a good experience. DH and I didn't care if the baby was a boy or a girl so it was really a lot of fun to find out. Later that day, when we were talking about how excited we were DH looked at me and said "I think I really wanted a boy." It was very cute.

Chinacat, thanks for the rec to minisocial. I love love love looking at all of those daily deal sites!

HH, you look great! I can definitely see that belly. It's still long but definitely more out now! The only *normal* clothes I wear are shirts and the oh so popular pregnancy gear of "active wear". Oh, and empire waist dresses. I would definitely not be brave enough to try on a sheath!

Lynnie, you definitely have some good pregnancy genes in your family! I have a girlfriend who is due two weeks after me and you can barely tell she's pregnant. Not fair!

BB, how fantastic to have all of those preggo friends!

SS, today is the day, right? I'm thinking of you! I can't wait to *meet* Lily!

As for me, I'm way DONE with being pregnant. I'm not uncomfortable all of the time but, man, when I am it's BAD! Some moments, 4 weeks feels like an eternity and other times it feels SO CLOSE! I'm currently mourning my thighs. DH did a side by side comparison of my 13 week and 36 week pics. Holy thigh spread! I'm just going with the maternal fat stores theory...breastfeeding ought to clear that right up! :naughty:

I'm having another case of the incredible shrinking belly today...or that dress is just plain unflattering.

30 weeks HH.JPG

RE: stretchmarks. With JT, I got stretchmarks on my very low abdomen but they didn't show up until the last 6 weeks. With this pregnancy (I'm carrying very forward) I have them around my bellybutton and out a few inches from there and again, only within the last few weeks. I think it depends on your skins natural elasticity and where the baby is putting the most pressure. Personally, where I itched the most in the middle of pregnancy is where I got the stretchmarks later. I assume that the initial stretching caused the itch.

Has anyone heard from Violet?? I know she didn't post much here, but I can't help but wondering if she's had her LO yet.

pupp~ Your 4 weeks will go by quicker than you think! Okay, I'm lying. They will drag horribly but then you'll wake up one morning and see the end is in sight!

I'm piddling around the house today and trying to spend time with JT doing his favorite things. He's having some anxiety issues. I'm a bit irritated with my mom. She informed me yesterday that she "may" be able to come see the baby Friday. My c-section has been scheduled for months and she can't manage to get their any sooner than 2 days later?! She lives less than 15 miles from the hospital where I'll deliver. Oh, well. I'll get over it. Maybe I'm just being selfish.

Well, that's all for now. Mostly because I can't read everyone's posts while I reply (hate this format!)

Hope you're all doing well. I'll probably check in later tonight and then I'll see you in a few days!

SS, thanks for the honesty. Hubby keeps saying it'll fly by...for him! I'm planning on a rough couple of weeks. I got my days mixed up but good luck tomorrow! I can totally see how you're irritated with your mom but it's her loss.

icekid, congrats on your sweet and bouncy little boy!!! I thought for sure you'd be having a girl since didn't you BD like 6 days before O? Guess Shettles isn't always correct! ;))

splitshank, congrats on your little guy!!!

noelwr, congrats on your little princess!!!

LV, yay for great NT scans!

Hou, looking great!

Lynnie, wow, you're teeny tiny, girl! You must have had really flat abs to start!

Keep baking puppmom! Stay in there little Nolan!

11 weeks 4 days

SS - GOOOOOD LUCK tomorrow!!! I bet you can't wait to meet her....how exciting!!! I hope everything goes nice and smoothly. Can't wait to see pictures of your sweet princess!! :)

HH - I like your dress! I don't think it's unflattering! You do look more preggo in it than in the other outfit, but I still think it's cute. You are still carrying so compact...I feel like I look almost as preggo as you do now!! LOL. You look great!!

Pupp, I'm sorry you're so "done." Hang in there, not long now!!! Just try to relax and pamper yourself a bit these last few weeks....

Noel - yaaaay, congrats on team PINK!!! :) Sooo happy for you, and so jealous that you've settled on a name! We've got a boy name, but we've still got a long list of girl possibilities....which probably means it's a girl just since we can't decide, LOL. I'm hoping that as I get to know this baby better, one of the names will just rise to the top for us.

Lanie - thanks for the info!! I hope it's not extra for me, either, because I'd love to do it and know a bit sooner!! :) I go a week from yesterday...yay!!! Can't wait to see the baby again!! I have used my doppler, so I know the baby's doing well and has a nice strong HB..can't wait to see how he/she has grown and changed since our last scan at 9 weeks! Sorry about the thyroid....but it is definitely important for baby's development to have good thyroid levels. I hope your visit with the endocrinologist (and whatever intervention may need to happen) is relatively painless.

IceKid - I *love* your Jumper pics!! That 3d face shot is aaaaaadorable!!! OMG!! Soooo cute. I'm glad you guys had fun with the scan, and thanks for sharing your awesome pics!!

Blushing - good luck with finding a pedi! Go with your heart and who you feel most comfortable talking to....you want a doctor who takes time to answer your questions and provide the reassurance you need. And congrats on 25 weeks!!! Those babies will be here before you know it!! :) :)

Lynnie, you look great!! Sooo cute and tiny!! Where are you hiding that baby?? LOL!!

--------------------------------------

Plugging along, almost 12 weeks now!! NT scan is a week from yesterday..can't wait!! Nausea is off and on...I have more good days, but still have occasional bad days. But that's better than every day being a bad day! Not much more to report. :) Can't wait to start the 2nd tri!!

Just a quick note to wish somethingshiny the best of luck with the c-section today. Hope everything goes smoothly. We cannot wait to meet Lily...  Thinking of you both!

SS -- good luck today!!! Can't wait to see pictures!

Noelwr -- YES! I'm a big fan. I didn't get to see the episode where they announced he was injured, but my friend called me and told me everything. I was very, very upset. He was pretty much a given to win. Now, I have NO idea who will. I don't like Jose, and I wish he'd be sent home. Other than that, I honestly don't know who will get it now. Who do you think???

HOU -- one other thing I forgot to tell you...if you haven't been to that facility before, bring cash for parking. DH and I almost never carry cash, so we had to ATM it. Just FYI. You and your baby will do great!!! Can't wait for you!!!

Thanks for the tips on bedding. I think my friend's mom will do it for me cheaper than the Etsy gals, so I think I'll go with that. The Target stuff is awfully tempting though...so cute!

Thinking of you and Lily, SS!!

Lanie, thanks for the heads up!! We hardly ever carry cash either!!

14w6d

Well since i finally see a reply button, I'm taking the time to post  Seriously me no likely PS 2.0!

Noel - congrats on Girl!!! I soooooooo want a girl this time around! Cant' wait to hear the name you picked out! We've had a name for a girl since I was preggo last time so I hope to use it this time :cheeky:

Icekid - love the u/s pics! I can't wait to do the 3D! it's really cool once your little one arrives and you can compare the 3D shot w/ the real baby!

Lainie - sorry to hear about your low thyroid, I have 2 close friends who developed hypothyroidism during their pregnancies but it is manageable.

Pupp - so close!! hang in there, I know how hard the end is...you just want the baby out!

SS - Can't wait to see pics of Lily!

Lynnie - you are carrying super small girl! I bet you look like HH in the 3rd tri!

HOU - congrats on 12 weeks :appl:

AFM, I've wanted to post, but eventhough I'm logged in the reply button wouldn't apppear...so I've been lurking. Still super tired, and having killer headaches lately. I had those last time too, just not everyday :knockout: I feel like my belly popped more last week. I'll probably take a belly shot next week to compare to the 13 week pic.

Have been mostly lurking on the new PS...

SS- hope your delivery went well and you are enjoying your new girl now!

Lulu- great to hear your update!

Puppmom, hang in there! Almost there now.

Lynnie, you *are* tiny! Funny how different we all show.

icekid, welcome to team blue and your LO is supercute!

BB, can't believe you are at 25 weeks! Really, I can't believe that I am almost at 7 months...

Well, I am plugging away at 30 weeks today! Sleep is getting more challenging again, mainly because my hips *ache* after an hour or so on my side, and back-sleeping is (and has been for awhile) instantly nausea inducing. I don't know what exactly is causing them to be so sore. During the day I am definitely slowing down, sometimes having cramping in the uterus. Don't think it is braxton-hicks (sp?) because it is often an isolated spot, feels like a charlie-horse, and is brought on my some physical activity like walking or getting up quickly. Anybody else have this? Its causing me to reduce my already limited activity to slug-like levels. I keep trying to make it to the pool after work but somehow dinner and the couch seem more appealing.

Anyway, my shower got scheduled for early August (yay!) so I have been obsessing on the registry. We stupidly went stroller browsing last weekend and hubs really liked the uppababy vista... it was the adjustable handles that really did it, since we are both tall most strollers are for shorter people. But we were *supposed* to be looking at stroller frames not full sized strollers, since we already bought a Bob as our big stroller (and I didn't think we were in the market for a $700 stroller.) It was really nice though... Anybody have any rec's for tall-people strollers? Especially in the stroller frame/umbrella department since the pickings seemed slim there?

16w6d

Hey Cara! :wavey: I can't believe you are already 30 weeks along...that seems so far away to me right now.

Something you said reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask the preggos about back sleeping. My week by week preg book says no back sleeping after 16 weeks, bc it cuts of circulation to the baby and cuts off nutrition channels (or something like that). It's the only place I've read it, and I never heard anyone say that before. I've woken up in the middle of the night on my back and gotten scared, but then I'm thinking that over the years I'm sure expecting moms have slept on their backs and been just fine. Does anyone know? I LOVE sleeping on my back!

Cara your hips hurt because your hips are widening and the joints loosening so when you lie on your side it is too much pressure on the joints as the knees touch! I had it too around that point. So that is when I started sleeping with a pillow between the knees and one propping up my belly. Strangely, I got back pain from my belly not being propped up (I guess it pupped the back muscles) so I put a pillow under there and it worked wonders. And I often got a major pain up under my ribs on one side -- it was Hunters legs kicking me. could it be that for you too?

Lanie, the books all say not to sleep on your back but it's not something to obsess over. I asked my doc about it because I'm a major back sleeper and I kept waking up on my back and she said not to worry about it and that it's more a concern for women who are on bed rest. Your body will put out physical signs like problems breathing or your legs falling asleep before major damage is done and you'll naturally shift positions. Also, as your belly gets bigger it's just not as comfortable anymore because it's hard to breathe and it's a prime position for major heartburn and reflux. Like I said, I'm a back sleeper and while I still wake up on my back sometimes, I find myself on my sides more than anything else. Oh, and I can also still sleep on my stomach with assistance from a pillow and support from one of my knees. Every person is different and every baby is different. Aidan is positioned in such a way that he allows me to do this I guess. He's moving enough now that he'll tell me if he doesn't like something. Speaking of, he just made his presence known by punching me in the bladder. Fun times.
