Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Congrats Jas! I can't wait to "meet" little Kate!

YAY!!! Congratulations Jas!!!! I love her name - beautiful! BTW - Kate is my sister's girl's name for her baby! ::) I'm so happy you were able to keep things natural and that both you and her are healthy and happy!

Jas, congratulations!!! Welcome to baby Kate.

18+4

congratulations, jas and welcome precious little Kate!

my anatomy scan is Friday; only two more days... sex guesses anyone?!?!

noelwr asked if I had any gut feeling, and I think the answer is not really. Sometimes I think of Jumper as a girl, sometimes as a boy. And I have had two boy dreams (no girl), but as was mentioned previously, my hubby was not the father of one of those little boys  Generally I guess extremely well for people who have surprise babies, but never get a great feeling when they're this early in pregnancy. weird??

Yay Jas and welcome baby Kate. Love that name...

Icekid,

Guessing a girl for you. Just a hunch. ;))

have any of you NOT had baby dreams? I had two really weird dreams very early on (like under 12 weeks) and nothing since. In one I gave birth but never saw my baby (but there was a very large asian baby/sumo wrestler in it) and in the other I gave birth to a kling-on.

Icekid - My vote is for a boy. Good luck and let us know when you find out!

Jas~ Wahoo!! Welcome, Kate! I hope all of the testing comes back as good as can be. Kudos for keeping pretty close to your original birth plan, too! Can't wait for pics!'

icekid~ I'm going with girl for you.

Lanie~not sure if you saw my response to your post before the change over, but I'm so happy that everything is going well!!!

Well, that's it, Violet and I are next. EEK!! My last baby appt is tomorrow and Wed is my section.

Good luck for all the upcoming scans and tests, ladies!

icekid, another GIRL vote for you!

Congrats Jas :appl:

I have no idea really of course, but Icekid i vote BLUE for you

16w5d

yay, my wee lil country made it to the World Cup finals.

Jas - can't wait to see pics of Kate.

HH - you're so funny with your large sumo wrestler and kling-on babies. I don't have baby dreams either. in all my dreams I'm never pregnant and then I wake up and I realize, "Oh hey, I'm pregnant." subconsciously, I probably really need the break! DH had 2 dreams of a baby boy which is why he thinks it will be a girl (don't ask me how that thought process works). what is a blizzard?

icekid - good luck with the anatomy scan tomorrow. I vote BOY.

somethingshiny - you must be so excited to meet your baby on Wednesday.

Noel, a blizzard is a yummy ice cream based concoction where they take vanilla soft serve (not hard scoopable ice cream) and mix it with stuff like cookie dough or candy. It's soooooo good. Also known as a McFlurry at McDonalds.

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in forever, but things are finally settling in with baby Connor (he's 10 weeks old!) and I so I had a chance to just look at the last couple of pages to see the beautiful new babies!

I just wanted to send my congratulations to Jas, Swimmer, Lindsay, So Excited, Lovelylulu & Chargergirl!!!

Looks like May & June were busy months! I hope you are all recovering well & enjoying your new babies!

10 weeks 6 days

Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Blizzards rank among my most favorite things in the world.

Congrats to Jas and baby Kate!! :)

IceKid, I'm totally voting BOY! Don't have any good reason for feeling that way, but I do!! :)

Noel, I like your idea about posting our gestation status in the subject!

SS - I can't wait to see pics of miss Lily!!! She'll be here soo soooooon!!

HH - I had some weird dreams really early on (under 7 weeks), but not really any since, until last night....it was nothing to do with babies, except I was pregnant in the dream...just REALLY WEIRD (like, I can't even talk about it on PS weird, LOL!) I totally LOL'ed at your klingon baby....I bet THAT was a surprise!!

I had posted my 10 week belly pic before PS 2.0, but it got lost. I was proud of it, because I'm actually starting to get a little bump! Maybe I'll post my 11 week one when I take it tomorrow. :)

Popping in for a quick question...

Where should I install my carseat? The only place it will fit is behind the driver's seat in my car because I sit so far up due to being short. However, when we go to the hospital DH will probably be driving my car and he sits really far back so the carseat won't fit. I could install it on the passenger side of my car since the base isn't the issue (its just the seat itsself that sticks out so far and DH usually sits there) but then I'll have to have it switched to the driver's side once we are home from the hospital and DH and I go back to using my car mostly(I'm usually the driver).

I planned to have it checked at one of the carseat safety checkpoints but if I end up switching it to a different seat then I'll have to go twice, right? Or can I just look at what they check and check it myself when I change its position?

We don't have a second base (which would eliminate having to move the seat) since we don't really feel like its necessary for us... at least for now.

20W, 6D

jas12: CONGRATS on baby katrine! great birth story - can't wait to see pics.

icekid: yay for feeling baby movements!! it makes it seem all the more real doesn't it? I'm voting GIRL for you. i feel your nausea pain btw. i'm in week 20 and had to take a zofran yesterday because i was feeling terrible. it's definitely MILES better than it was in the first tri though, so i shouldn't complain.

hh: don't worry about the shower fears - all will go well and i'm sure you'll get plenty of fun gear for aidan. maybe ppl will pool together to buy the more expensive stuff?

oobiecoo: can you install the carseat in the middle? that's where we have ours, to minimize any impact from an accident on the side of the car.

----------

things are moving along with me. i'm in week 20 now and had a dr's appt yesterday. am up 4 lbs so far - which is low i suppose but it's how i was with baby #1. i seem to pack on all the pounds in the 3rd tri!

oobie~ Now that we have 2 carseats, my DH just had to move forward. After you install and check your seat professionally, they're very easy to know how to use. If your DH can't scoot up initially, it's not difficult to reposition later. But, in my own experience, switching back and forth is a huge PITA so it may be easier to tell DH to get used to it on the rare occasion he's driving your car. And, definitely get a second base. They're not usually expensive and so handy.

My appt today went well. I had all my preop instructions and consents and all that. I started getting giggly. I'm so ready!

Oh, I forgot to post his funny.....

Today at the dr office while waiting and waiting, DH could see that my back was hurting.

DH "Do you want to bounce on a ball?"
Me "Yes, that would really help."
DH "How bout 2 balls?!"

I lost it. I couldn't believe he came up with that and said it at the doc office!

It's really good to know that this giant belly doesn't deter him.

OMG I think I'd pee if DH said that to me! Then again I'd probably pee from "bouncing" on two balls as well...

Congrats Jas and Baby Kate!!! What a beautiful name and can't wait to see pics of the beautiful baby girl! :appl:

Icekid -- I vote girl! I have no idea though, honestly. Have fun tomorrow at the scan!!!

Somethingshiny -- I can't believe you are still here! In my mind you are like 45 weeks pregnant! Hahaha...not really, but it seems like you have been waiting and waiting and waiting.....

HOUie -- I saw Bobo yesterday. I waited for 2 hours for my appointment! It's getting ridiculous. But I saw Dr. Jen Arnold from TLC's Little Couple walking across the street to Texas Children's. That was kind of cool to see!

I went mat clothes shopping bc I popped over the weekend. Gap Maternity is having a 40% one item sale for every Wednesday in July. So I think there are 3 more Wednesdays left if you girls have a store nearby. They also have a promotion if you buy 3 regular priced jeans, you get a 4th pair free, and that goes for any Gap jeans, not just maternity. I bought 2 pairs, and they look really cute! I think I might get a pair of skinny jeans bc they were cute too. I live in jeans now so I'll definitely need many pairs. Anyway, it was fun to shop. I went with my friend who is due when Laila is due (12/12) and we had so much fun with the pillow they give you, and just trying stuff on. I'm trying to visualize winter clothes since I'll be huge in Nov/Dec, but they didn't have any winter clothes just yet. I also bought a cute Liz Lange for Target dress online that will be good for showers and nicer get togethers with friends.

I'm off for a mini beach vacation with the hubs in South Padre Island! I'm excited to get out of the house and see some sun! Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

That is sooooo funny SS!!! :cheeky:

ss- what a nut your husband is! Mine would never say anything remotely like that in public.

sbde- I think your weight gain is reasonable! Your body is going to do what it needs to do for your baby. Plus, I really don't think it is NECESSARY to gain thirty pounds either.

HH- Please stop with all of the yummy ice cream talk :cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky: I am going to gain weight just thinking about it! :lickout:

Lanie- Ooooh thanks for the tip about gap maternity sale! I've ordered some clothes from them (there is not one very close to us for some reason grr), but there is a sun dress that I really want that is out of stock in XS on their website. Maybe I'll see if hubby will get it for me when he is at work next week.

-------------------------
Tomorrow! I am sooooooo excited. It looks like the PS tally is 5 girl, 4 boy. Almost 50/50, sounds about right  Still have not decided about the shower unveiling of the sex and keeping it a secret until then. Not sure I will be able to hold out! There's no way I will be able to keep it from my mom and sister. And everyone at work is so excited to find out, too. Ahh. What to do...

10 weeks 6 days

IceKid - yaaaaay tomorrow!! I can't wait either!! LOL!! I will be anxiously awaiting your post! :)

Lanie - yeah, the last two times I've gone they've been running behind in ultrasound, so I've waited 30-45 min past appt time to get my scan, then another 20-30 min to see her, so my appts have been getting close to 2 hrs in length (and if you add ultrasound plus Dr. face time, it's only about 15-20 minutes total!) I guess that's what you get with a busy city practice. Ahh well. I'm happy as long as I walk out with good news in the end. So you've popped?? I wanna see this cute belly!! :) ENJOY your beach mini-vacay...I hope it doesn't rain on you! Hasn't it been ridiculous around here lately?!? Oh, and re: Jen Arnold....she is super nice, great to work with. I've never been on call with her when they were filming, so won't be on the show myself (hehe) but I have been on call with her in the nurseries, and she is just as nice and great to work with as she appears on TV. :) I watch all the shows, and it's so funny to see my fellow residents on TV with her!!

SS - OMG, your DH is tooooo funny!! HAHA! Obviously he still finds you sexy with that belly!! :)

sdbe - congrats on 20 weeks!! :)

Ooobie - sorry, but I have no sage advice to offer on where to put the carseat. But like sbde said, perhaps middle is an option??

19w 5d... or is it??

Got back from my anatomy scan today.. its a BOY!! We had a feeling it was the whole time. Everything is accounted for, everything looks good, and I am excited!!! Oh, and he's measuring 20w3d now... about 5 days ahead of what he was the past few times.. this puts it closer to LMP dating, which is weird because it took me so long to get BFP. I wasn't able to go to my Dr. appt right after, so tomorrow we will see if she moves the date or not. Either way its a butterball for me at Thanksgiving! I wish I could respond to all of you more, but I have a ton to do tonight and early surgery in the am so I need to get going!!

BLIZZARD.... I had one this weekend.. now I want another one :) I have to say that Blizzards are so much better than McFlurry's... much more options ;))

Icekid, I'm going to say girl!!!

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Oh, there is NOTHING better than a man who can make you laugh! You've got a hilarious keeper there!!!!!!! A sense of humor like this... is so golden and will carry you through the sleepless nights all the way to your golden years!

Thanks for sharing! I had a good laugh! Hahahaha. He's so naughty!

And Split_shank!!! CONGRATS ON TEAM BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :appl:

Jas Congrats Lady!! I loved reading your story. I am trying to picture the position you birther her in and it is really eluding me... ::)

Jas, Congratulations! And, thank you for sharing your birth story. I love reading them!

sbde, Did you have morning sickness at all? I wonder if that contributes toward slower weight gain.

I didn't have any morning sickness, and though I am no longer as ravenously hungry as I was in the 1st tri, I am still really hungry at times. I eat mostly very fresh good food (thanks to my CSA), so I focus on that. I'll have to wait and see how my weight gain progresses, but it's not something I'm actively thinking about.

Icekid, I'm thinking GIRL!!

SplitShank, Congrats on Team BLUE! I can't believe you're 20 weeks already.

Puppmom, Where are you????

*************
Had my NT screen today. I actually went last week, but was asked to come back because they could not get a good angle of the baby due to my uterus being tipped back. What a difference a week makes! My uterus position has corrected itself. It took a while, maybe 40 mins, to get three good shots of the baby for the screen. I'm very happy with this practice because they offer same day results. I had the blood work two weeks ago, so we met with a genetic counselor who put my blood work results and NT measurements into the computer while we sat there.

The average risk for Downs Syndrome for my age (36) is 1 in 287. After the NT screen, my risk improved to 1 in 1,600. Needless to say, we were thrilled with the results. And, of course, we were thrilled to see our LO up on the screen. He (I'm calling him a he now) was quite active and seemed to be swatting at the US wand!

Oh, and no gender guesses, as a matter of policy. The technician was fabulous though! She was determined to get the three necessary shots, and she did.

Hey, ladies! I've missed you guys...since PS 2.0, I've been locked out. ;( Thanks to Ella, I'm up and running again. :appl:

I've got some catching up to do so sorry if I miss anyone...

Splitshank, I can't believe you're halfway there. I remember your BFP and it feels like YESTERDAY! Congrats on TEAM BLUE...we're really starting to out number the girls!

Icekid, I'm going with girl. I can't wait to find out!

SBDE, I've gained 4 pounds in the last two weeks. :naughty:

Oobie, I vote middle too, if possible. In our rinky dink Corolla, we're going to have to pick a side or no one else will fit in the back seat!

SS, that's one funny husband you have...sheesh! It's one thing to say that in private but at the docs office. He must be a trip!

HH, no baby dreams for me...not one! You would think that they would be pretty frequent considering our minds are totally consumed with baby thoughts 24/7!

Hou, I think your belly pic disappeared but I saw it and you look great! I can't definitely see a little something there!

Jas, you must have one COMFY womb! I absolutely LOVE the name you chose! I admire you for persisting through labor without drugs. That's a LONG time - you must have been exhausted!

Lanie, yeah for the big sale! The GAP stuff is really nice - much nice than motherhood and pea in the pod in my experience and totally worth the price but even better when you hit a good sale!

Ok, I think that's everyone. I had a doctor's appointment tonight. I'm 35 weeks 3 days and the doc checked my cervix. She said I'm 2cm dilated but she quickly said I shouldn't get too excited because I could walk around like this until my due date. I'm shooting for another few weeks but a LITTLE early would be nice. She said Nolan's head is in my pelvis but not officially *engaged* because she could push him up (ouch!). Oh, and DD is totally NESTING! She's been running around cleaning the house - the sink is empty at ALL times, she wipes down the bathrooms every day and she's done all of the baby laundry. She said she wants to make sure we're ready when Nolan decides to enter the world. Very cute.

I'll leave you ladies with my (bootilicious) 35 week pic...so maybe nude leggings aren't the best look for a woman who is 8 months pregnant.

ETA - LV! Our posts must have crossed! Being locked out stunk!

Pupp35weeks.jpg

Haha, Puppmom, There you ARE! I asked where you were 2 minutes before you posted! That's so funny. I wondered if maybe you had a hard time logging-in. You look gorgeous! That is really sweet that your daughter is nesting. She must be so excited, and how lucky you are to have a little helper around.

Pupp! You look so beautiful and loooove the belly!!!!!!!!!!!

All the bellies look beautiful, ladies!

JAS, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
