Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Okay, my EDD is October 14th. What are the odds I will deliver more than 2 weeks early or late so it is not an October baby? We are hoping to get our amnio results back by Mother''s Day so we can tell our parents then. I thought of an idea for how to tell my mom (and dad). I am thinking of buying her a piece of tourmaline jewelry (or an unset stone) and after I give her the present, tell her I chose that gift because it will be her granddaughter''s or grandson''s birthstone.
That is a cute idea, Kay. Does anyone know you are pregnant in the "real world?"

TGal, thanks for the clarification on #3! I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. Sounds like you are doing great--I'm so happy for you!

Tacori, I know you knew how much I wanted a girl! It will not be easy when they are teenagers and hating me but until then, I'm going to try to enjoy every minute!

Diver, yup, another girl and I'm sooo happy to be able to recycle Lily's wardrobe! We need L names because DH and I both start with L and obviously so does Lily. I wasn't hung up on that and honestly, we didn't name Lily because it started with L but now we feel like we have to keep it up so #2 doesn't feel left out! Sadly, we can't use Lola or Lila because both have been claimed by dear friends. So we're going to have to do some thinking and are open to suggestions!!

lia, I didn't hear the heartbeat with either baby until at least 13-14 weeks. You may get lucky and hear it earlier but they didn't even attempt it before then in both of my cases.

Kay, the actual needle part takes all of one minute. Honestly, it was over sooooo fast. My doctor is so awesome and I think this time I was much more relaxed since I knew what to expect so I actually watched on the ultrasound monitor. The first time, I think I tensed up so I felt more of a cramp and I had my eyes squeezed shut! Don't get me wrong, I didn't see the needle up close or anything like that! It's all very psychological when you don't know what you're in for but it's really not as bad as you might imagine. The 30 minutes of watching my baby move around was awesome! You'll love that part!! Also, if I were you, I would not leave work 2 weeks early. You'll go CRAZY waiting around for something to happen as you've witnessed with our overdue moms and you will want to have that time after you have the baby--it will be much more meaningful then.

CONGRATS LILI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Ha ha, I love that TGal called you a "stealth birther" -- too funny!)

Jadelyn Mae is gorgeous, and I love the middle name you chose. It looks and sounds just perfect with Jadelyn.

Hope you guys are all doing well -- look forward to hearing about her birth!

Oooh Curly, Lila is our girl name, too... I think you should use it so we could potentially have name-twins!!
9.gif
Although I guess Lily and Lila are a bit too close. And I guess I could have a boy (Max is our boy name)! I have always liked Leah as an L name... any feelings about that one? I think Layla is pretty too....

Congrats Lili!!!! That was pretty sneaky. Jadelyn is a precious little girl. Come back with details when you have time.

Tgal~so glad things are going well for you and Miss Amelia.

Curly~Congrats on girl number two!! I secretly (I guess not so secretly since I''m writing it now) hope our second is a girl....Tayva has quite the wardrobe and I''d like to put it to use again. It''s so sad when they only get to wear an outfit once before they grow out of it.

MrsF~ your little guy is such a cutie!

Diver~I am sorry Delaney had a rough time going down for her nap this afternoon. I can totally relate because ever since Tayva has been sick she has cried uncontrollably because she''s so tired and needs to nap, but can''t stay asleep due to cough/sneeze/trouble breathing....it''s so horrible. I started crying tonight because I just feel so bad and wish there was something I could do!

Hi all, This is charlie (jasmine''s DH) jasmine delivered a health, beautiful 8lbs,8 ounce baby boy named cohen anothoney -last min name change! @ 5:23pm. birth was natural (other than antibiotic & small dose of hormone to kick start the labor due to her very early broken water) she said it was the hardest, craziest thing she has ever done - but is doing well. she will post the whole story tomorrow nite when she gets home.

DH and I have each told 2-3 close friends. I just told my boss today. He was nice, but it was a very awkward conversation. I asked him not to tell anyone else because I am not ready for the story to get around yet. We are waiting to tell our parents because they are so desperate for grandchildren, and I don''t want them to get all excited and then be disappointed if something goes wrong. I''m mostly worried about my mom because she has health problems, including a heart condition and history of depression.

Thanks for the info. I have heard the Dr. doing my amnio does not have the best bedside manner. I told DH he has to come to distract me. I have been known to pass out when I have blood drawn. It''s weird -- I can''t wait to have the amnio done so I can relax, but I am not looking forward to the actual procedure. But, I can certainly get through something that only takes a minute. I am such a baby -- labor will be interesting.

I am supposed to get 3 months of paid leave, but the way our annual billable hours requirements are calculated, it creates a problem for me if my leave straddles 2 calendar years. I figured I would just take October through December off. I may change my mind.
