Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Curly,
Lily looks so sweet and I love her outfit.

Oh my goodness, Lily is adorable!!!! What a precious little girl
face23.gif

Curly, Lily is just too cute for words! Love the dress, too
21.gif
She sounds like such a happy little baby -- you''re obviously doing something right, so I''ll take your advice on recommendations since whatever you''re doing seems to be working!

CG, she is JUST so darling!!! I remember seeing her pic here when she was born...she''s growing up fast. What a doll.

Curly, Lily is so pretty! She seems like a very happy baby. Thanks for all your advice. I got a bumbo at my shower and am excited to use it. Have you seen those little trays that attach to the top? I have a boppy too just need to decide on a cover. Both my friends with babies said this was there MUST have. We have the FP Papasan swing and the bouncer. I guess we just have to wait and see what our baby likes and doesn''t.

Curly: Awwwwwww, what a sweet bebe! How awesome she is right downstairs, and that is too cute about the blue paint. Sounds like a great facility. So glad you are at work & have time for us now. Hee hee....

I 2nd everything Curly said about baby stuff....I''m going to have to check out a few of the items she listed..haven''t heard of Miracle Blankets, where did you find them?

Showers: Wow! njc & ellaila! Kind of late eh? I''ve thrown like....4 in the last 2 years & I always do it 2 months before the momma is due, so she has time to finish shopping (and not have to spend a bunch of $$ in one trip) for things she didn''t get yet still needs, and in case she goes early or gets put on bedrest. Mine isn''t until 8-11 and that''s pushing it! It was supposed to be last weekend, but it was more about coordinating the schedule of the 5 girls who are throwing it for me instead of my schedule...lol....one was out of town the last few weekends in a row.

Stephens Bride: Quack quack. JUST KIDDING! I love your belly shots! very cute....still purty tiny my friend! How are you feeling?

Gotta scoot...later alligators

Here''s a preview of some of my friend''s shots....just a teaser...my doggie...so pretty...my friend the photographer keeps threatening to kidnap her. LOL

diver...I LOVE the pics...you son is soooo adorable and I just love that doggie too. I''d glady take them both. You are your hubby make such a striking couple, you all look sexy even with your preggo belly!!!

Hey all. We are home from a busy day :-) had my dr appt at 2 this afternoon, we took the kids with us so they could see. Our Dr did one of those 4d scans so we know without a doubt that we are having a GIRL!!! I was wrong but thats ok. From the measurements she is a little smaller then normal but everything is well formed and she smiled at one point. Our kids are excited I know my oldest wanted a brother but was happy to see a sister. Now just to narrow down the names and get her room going.

Diver, great pics!

Secondchance, congrats on finding out.

Secondchance, congrats on the girl!!!

Diver, gorgeous photos! You really don''t look big to me at all, especially since you are near full term. I have hope!

TGuy asked me last night if I have to get maternity underwear. Damn, didn''t think about that! Do I? I am picky about underwear...wear meshy g-strings (sorry if that''s TMI) from Victoria''s. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also tough trying to keep this thing hush hush. Thank goodness I have you ladies here. I did tell my brother, but he guessed right away when we showed up in the new wagon. So now we''re trying to keep the baby AND the car a secret. It''s very hard to hide an entire car!!
40.gif

TravelingGal: Undies...well, I like 2 styles this pregnancy...my meshy Cosabella thongs from Nordy''s...(I wear those all the time when not preggers & they are my fave anyway--the low rise "Soiree" style, my meshy VSecret boyshort/tanga style (again lowrise). But I did buy some all cotton bikinis from Old Navy & Mimi Maternity. OMIGOSH..the Mimi ones are heavenly comfortable. These maternity bikinis are low rise & not huge at all...don''t feel like granny panties in the least. Some days I just can''t take the thought of a thong on my prego arse. Pretty much, if you are comfortable & feel good in it, then go for it! I am a freak and like matching my bras & panties, & they have to be pretty even if I''m wearing sweats...I don''t know why, I just don''t feel "properly" dressed otherwise. Its an expensive habit no doubt.

MrsS: Thanks for the compliments! I think my doggie is the prettiest german shepherd girl to ever hit the universe quite frankly. I am sooooo biased too.
20.gif
She''s my luv bug & a big part of our family. (sleeps with me, very protective/territorial of me & Jake--but in the good way, not the psycho-bad way) She''s always "smiling" and even gives the cat (who hates her) kisses. I was so excited to see that pic of her, I am ordering a large one of that & having it matted & framed to hang in my dining room. LOL. Can''t forget the furbabies when the other ones come!

Second Chance: Welcome to TEAM PINK!
36.gif
congratulations!

Well, my aunt had a heart attack & her bp is through the roof, so I''m off to the hospital to visit her...we have to wait until 7pm because they are forcing her to lie stick still for 4 hours to see if it comes down. Wish us luck, she''s been gravely ill since february & is down to 100lbs now. She''s only 68 & my FAVORITE aunt in the whole world....and the last of my dad''s family besides my brother & I...so I''m fearful for him too. He loves her so much.

TGal, I love old navy''s maternity bikinis. They are reasonable too. I still wear my regular ones but they aren''t as comfortable.

Diver, so sorry to hear about your aunt.

Thanks Diver and Tacori, I will look for those. I especially like the sound of the meshy ones, as that is the type of undies I wear now.

So I had dinner tonight with a business associate. She wanted to share the Caprese salad, so I did, but then realized after the fact that it''s a soft cheese. So now I read about listeria or whatever and feel concerned - I suppose I could call the restaurant and see if it was pasterized mozzarella, but I am trying not to be paranoid.

So I took a deep breath, and I''m OK now!

I have a question for all of you - did you have any early signs of pregnancy symptoms? I''ve been feeling really tired lately, my body is achy, I''m sometimes queasy, and my boobs have been sore for about the last week. I doubt I''m pregnant. I just started taking prenatal vitamins last week and I read that the iron and folic acid can make you tired and queasy. What I don''t get is my sore boobs. AF isn''t due till another 1.5 weeks so it''s still very early. Sorry if any of this is TMI. I keep wondering if I''m feeling this way because of the prenatals or because I''m pregnant and waiting another 1.5 weeks to find out seems like forever!

Sore boobs were my first sign snlee. But everyone is different. Mine got huge pretty quick too. One thing that I loved!! Hehe.

Diver,
Those pics are sooo beautiful!!! You look fantastic girl!!!

My boobs are really sore in the mornings. I have all the symptoms you have snlee...achy, tired, queasy (although not to the point I can''t eat) and sore boobs.

I have noticed that my "morning sickness" happens in the afternoon and evening. I take my prenatal at lunch time, so I am starting to think that is why. It would make sense that a prenatal could cause some queasiness, from what I read.

But I don''t think it could cause sore boobs....

That's what I'm thinking. How early did you feel this way? Is week 3 too soon?

Secondchance, congrats on the girl!

Ella, congrats on a healthy baby boy and girl!

curly, Lily is adorable!

diver, gorgeous family photos. You look great!

Snlee, if I am correct and we conceived on July 4, then I am 6 weeks pregnant (counting those weird two weeks when you''re not really pregnant). I caught it early...basically 2 weeks after July 4th. So in my 4th week of pregnancy, I was already feeling very tired. But I would say the majority of the symptoms, especially the queasiness and cramps did not happen until last week (week 5) and the aching boobs is within the last few days.

I can''t wait until I have my first prenatal. I sometimes feel that this isn''t real, so therefore these symptoms must be psychosomatic.

Curly, Lily is a love bug!

Diver, Jake is beautiful, I think a little boy can be called that! And your dog, well, I am a GS lover from way back so I might be biased! You look great too, what great shots!

Diver, LOVE the photos!! Must talk hubby into doing some type of sweet shots like those. And Jake is just adorable! I wonder if we could get our kitty to sit still long enough for a glamour shot like your pup? Hee hee. Oh, and I saw the photo of your Clooneyesque hubby in some other thread too -- hubba hubba! You guys make one beautiful family!

Speaking of wearing pre-preg clothes (as you did in your photos), I got a babybeminematernity band (same as bella band basically), and today I''m wearing my pre-preg Michael Kors denim skirt with it (completely unbuttoned and unzipped), and it rocks. I feel like I just gained back so much of my wardrobe!
36.gif

snlee, the boobs were the first sign for me -- waaaay more sore than any PMS sore-boobs I''d ever had. And also tiredness ... no, make that fatigue! I was absolutely exhausted pretty much nonstop.

TGal, haha on the undies question! I got some g-strings (thongs? never know what to call them. g-string sounds so stripperish to me) at Motherhood Maternity, and they are super-comfy. Thankfully my butt hasn''t expanded (yet?), so I still feel comfy in them, but talk to me in another month and I may have made the move to granny panties, who knows. But I definitely don''t think it''s something you''ll have to worry about for quite some time! And by the time you do have to worry about it, vanity won''t be your concern -- comfort will be! It''s amazing some of the horribly-ugly-yet-comfy "outfits" I''ve put together because I just want to be comfy. I more or less live in my bikini bathing suit top at home -- it''s way more comfy than a bra and feels better than going with just a tanktop with no bra b/c the bathing suit still gives some support (and my boobs feel so heavy so I need the support). So I basically wear that with everything when I''m home. Hahha, it''s quite a sight!

Sara, congrats on the baby girl!!!

Oh and Diver, sorry to hear about your aunt. I hope for the best ...

Thank you all so much for the compliments!! Lily is truly the best thing that I''ve ever done! And yes, I feel like she''s my little doll that I can play dress up with! Her dress was a gift from a family friend. It''s by Marimekko and it''s just adorable. It has an attached pink gingham panty thing that snaps underneath. Too cute. We got soooo many clothes as gifts and I''m excited that she''s starting to fit into them.

Diver, your pictures are gorgeous!! You look fantastic. Jake is a little cutie pie. I have a younger woman for him if he''s interested!!!! Regarding the Miracle Blanket--it''s AWESOME! I got mine as a gift but I think you can check out their website (I think it''s just miracleblanket.com) or ebay has new ones as well. And I don''t know if they have BuyBuyBaby on the west coast but they sell them there too. They are about $30 but really work great. The Swaddle Me is easier to use but the MB is a bit more of a serious swaddle. BTW, sorry to hear about your aunt. Hope she''s doing ok...

TGal, mozzarella is fine. And honestly, most cheeses in the US are pasteurized. I was kind of a laid back preggo and I didn''t pay much attention to the "what not to eat" lists. I mean, some of it is kind of common sense like sushi and raw meat. But in terms of cheese, I ate feta, brie and even a little bit of blue cheese (it was cooked inside a burger)! I knew that they were pasteurized so it was fine. I ate deli meats without heating them up. Towards the end, I indulged in tuna sandwiches and a glass of wine here and there. I think tuna is ok in small doses but I think they don''t want you to eat it every day because of the mercury content. I''m not a coffee drinker but I think it''s ok to have a cup of coffee every day if you need it. They''ll give you all the info at your first appointment. I just wasn''t militant about the things I ate or didn''t eat. I didn''t ignore the doctor''s advice but I just didn''t obsess over it. But that''s just me. Everyone handles pregnancy differently and it''s all about what you''re comfortable with. And speaking of comfort, I was able to wear my regular thong underwear throughout the pregnancy!!! But I did buy some cheapie granny panties for the hospital! That will be a whole other list of what to pack for the hospital!!!
2.gif

Tacori, I think I am going to get one of those trays for the Bumbo. They''re so cute!! Once she starts eating and playing with things it will be nice to have a place to put them right in front of her.

second chance, CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to team pink! Having a little girl is so much fun. You''re going to love shopping for her!!

snlee, my boobs hurt a lot in the beginning but sadly they didn''t grow! The only thing that made me take a pregnancy test was the fact that I felt like I had a hangover for 3 days!!! The first day, it really was a hangover but when it continued I thought something might be going on! Good luck!

ellaila, good job on the band!! I''m telling you, that thing saved me from a whole new wardrobe. It was great to be able to wear my regular stuff, even though it was always unzipped or unbuttoned! I was in my regular jeans until almost the end. Can''t wait to see an updated belly shot of you. Hope your little ones are having fun in there!

Thanks all.. It is just hitting me I am having another girl and more pinks and purples here. We have to come up with a name for her now. My other childrens names are Nathan(12), Addison(9), and Alyssa(6). We are thinking Hadley Grace(my pick), Audrey Grace(his pick), Holly(Addi''s pick), Emmerson(Lyssa''s pick that is a little girl that was in her K class last year). What does everyone think?

Thanks guys for the well wishes for my aunt. We went to see her last night & she seems to be doing better.

I''m uber conscious of what I eat while preggo...and here''s the 411 on soft cheeses, deli meats & the like in regards to listeria.

http://www.babycenter.com/plus/safe/quest.jhtml?iisQuestId=1136792

On soft cheese itself:

http://www.babycenter.com/expert/pregnancy/pregnancynutrition/3175.html

Listeria is really harmful...tuna on the other hand, is not as long as you keep your consumption under a certain # of ounces a week. Just an example. So I refuse to eat ANY cheese that does not say "pastuerized milk" on its label. For the most part (and in restaurants you have to ask) mozzerella is made with pastuerized milk.

Now I have eaten a burger stuffed with blue cheese & ravioli stuffed with goat cheese, but the cheese got cooked, so it was fine.

brb.....

Congratulations, 2ndChance and welcome.

Diver, you have a great looking family, and I have to add that your hubby looks pretty hot. Lucky gal! Your german shepherd looks really adorable with that cock of the head.

To all,
I wore regular unmentionables throughout my pregnancy. I wore VC''s low rise bikinis up to my delivery in the hospital. I made sure that is 100% cotton though. It''s better for the skin to be able to "breathe".

Curly: You sound so dang chipper its killin'' me! LOL. But I''m glad you are having fun with the new baby, I''m getting anxious to get my hands on mine. I look at my little boy & can''t imagine what it will be like to have another one! I love him so much my heart hurts when I look at him, and I get to have another? Talk about luck.

Ugh.....I got the pregnancy sickies. My heartburn is ATROCIOUS and my OB has me on 300mg of Zantac a day. Plus I take Mylanta for the breakthrough, and I''ve had the runs for over a week now & add Immodium to the list. I had to go see my OB y''day to have my cervix checked to make sure I wasn''t going into preterm labor & make sure baby was ok. We''re fine in that respect. But I''m having a hard time finding things to eat that don''t upset my stomach.
