Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Posted this by mistake on the TTC forum...dunno where my head is!!!!!!!

****

Hi!!!

All you ladies look great!! . NYC I can''t believe you have TWINKS in there!!!!!!! You looks GREAT!!!

I''m still getting over my cold and coming back home I had some ear problems again...oh well, not as bad as the first time though!. This weekend I''ve been relaxing home alone (DH is visiting family in Spain!).

Yesterday I had a tough day . I had a huge fight/fall out with my best friend. For those of you around in the LIW days, this is the same friend I had a huge fall out a long time ago!. Well, history repeats itself and I guess I just didn''t learn my lesson.

I had only shared the news with 3 of my friends because that''s what DH and I agreed to as we wanted to wait after the u/s at week 11 (next week!). Anyway, turns out my "friend" decided it was ok to share. I found out she told her cousin, who told a friend, who then went out with a group of friends (that are my friends too) and he blurted out "Guess what??? Mandarine is KNOCKED UP with TWINS!". Nice. I found out because another friend told me and needless to say I was hurt/furious. Not only does it make me mad that she opened her mouth, but she denied it and told me I was crazy and she had "had it with me"...and who knows what other non-sense. I''m also mad at how the news are being shared, as if I''m a 15 year old girl that got knocked up and this is actually bad news.

So yesterday I finally blurted out how I knew so she at least could shut it and stop trying to deny it. Anyway, it was bad...I was so mad/sad/upset I was shaking. I know it''s not good for the babes to bes so upset so I decided to write her a LONG email and let all my feelings out and put it to rest. I felt better..still upset at this whole thing, but I have to let it go and I have to take her out of my life (we''ve been friends since we were like 11 years old). It saddens me, but this is just too much. This is not a GOSSIP, or "my" secret...this is a blessing, a miracle and a secret that I share with DH and with those that I love and thought were close to us. It sucks...

Anyway, sorry for the vent......

I''m trying to cheer up so I''m meeting up with a friend that I met on the knot while planning the wedding and she''s pregnant now too. So we''re off to get ourselves bella bands

I hope you all have a great Saturday and a Happy Easter!!!

M~

Mandarine- thanks for the compliment :)

Ugh I so feel for u bc its so hard to find out who are ur true friends! That''s y I limit myself and have very few...I have "acquaintances" but my family and 1 bff are my true ppl....I was taught early on not to trust everyone u know so I hope u just take this as a lesson and move on from "friends" like that...there''s that sayin with friends like that who needs enemies...corny but sooo true. Don''t get stressed over it...they are children and u really don''t need that...u are an adult with very adult things going on. feel better!

Sabine, I have INCREDIBLY bad asthma, enough that I needed to be hospitalized. At the moment I use Advair and have a rescue inhaler, either ventolin or albuterol. When the second line appeared on the test I cut back from the two puffs of advair a day to ONE puff. That one less puff made me use my rescue inhaler more and more, even though I hadn't used it for at least a few months because the advair is so great. Imagine my happiness when my OB told me to keep using it. She said no real tests have been done, and it's not worth making me breathe worse, because when you breathe badly, the baby gets even less oxygen.

In short: my doc said it's way more important to have my asthma treated than whatever the slight risks are. The thing is with asthma in pregnancy, there's a 50% chance it'll stay the same severity, 25% it will get better, and 25% it'll get worse. If you're truly having a harder time, call your doc, it's really important you get enough oxygen right now.

Wow, I'm finally knowledgeable at something pregnancy wise!

ETA: Sabine: the OTC bronchial inhaler is the worst you could use for asthma. That's why you need to keep using it throughout your visit, it's really not that effective for long term satisfaction. I think you need to get a prescription ASAP. I used those when I didn't have insurance and my asthma doc was PISSED, it does more harm than good, the heart racing thing is because it's a total quick fix.

Thanks Sha and Sabine! I''m hoping to get some more good shots tomorrow to complete the project.

NYC, I agree, I think you look small for how far along you are, especially considering it''s twins! You look great!

Since I promised, here''s my latest belly pic. I think I see a difference from last week and I have a feeling I''ll see a difference next week as well. I''m STARVING lately. We had a normal breakfast lunch and dinner today, but when coming back from birthing class I made DH stop at McDonald''s and get me a McDouble, a small nuggets and a small fry. I then proceeded to come home and eat a kiwi, a spoonful of nutella and a fiber one bar. I''d eat more, but DH glared at me when I ate the fiber one bar. He keeps saying we can eat more tomorrow. He doesn''t seem to understand that I''m hungry NOW.

Our birthing instructor announced to class today that she''s expecting #4! I''m so excited for her. She''s due mid-December.

Robbie- u look fab...but u always do!
U keep eating whenever u feel the need...don''t listen to anyone ;)...I also crave fast food when we are on the road. But at home its very light homemade stuff.

Robbie - you look SO cute!
41.gif

I remember I went through that insatiable time too. I would wake up in the middle of the night STARVING and eat plain yogurt with the fridge open. haha. It will pass, somewhat.
5.gif

My DH was the same. He was like, "what? AGAIN?" lol

Now I have to eat small portions spread out, or else I get heartburn. fun.

HAPPY EASTER (for those of you who celebrate); and Happy Passover for those who celebrate!
17.gif

You girls look great!

Happy Easter mommies-to-be!! I''ve been in my puppy pjs (that my mom got me because she thinks I''m still 10 but they''re also really, really comfy) all day today. I''m about to say hello to my other boyfriend, Marc Anthony. Mr. Fiery just left to his friend''s house for a bbq (I didn''t want to go) so Marc and I are going to clean the house.

35.gif

Peony- Looking good!

Robbie- You look so cute pregnant. You just must be meant to carry babies- it looks so natural on you.
30.gif

Fiery- Ah, your Marc crush? obsession? love? still cracks me up.

Happy Easter girls! It started out scary here, weather-wise- storming, tornado watches, the whole business. Then it suddenly passed and it is beyond gorgeous outside, sunny and warm. Just got back from Easter dinner with family, yum. About to nap on the couch with the Masters as background soundtrack. Nothing is better to fall asleep to than the sound of golf!

Here is a pic- 23 weeks today.

ETA: Robbie, your pics are fantastic!!!! Very impressed.

Ok, trying to upload pics again...

One more... How do I makes these pics smaller???? Hate how big they always are. Sorry!

chinacat23weeks2.jpg

WHAT THE WHAT?
China - you''re BLOND??????????

Wow. I had no idea what you looked like, but I did not picture you blond!
3.gif
Well hello there foxy! Oh yah - nice belly too
31.gif
28.gif

Mela- Blondish-brown. Natural is light brown, but I highlight it to "help" it.
31.gif
I wouldn''t call it blonde necessarily- more like Jennifer Aniston maybe???? It''s darker blonde now. I dyed it dark brown a year or so ago which was a total nightmare. The guy that did it didn''t lowlight it first, and it had this weird green tinge. Then the girl that tried to "fix" it added some red- which was NOT a good look for me and my skin tone. Ugh. So it''s slowly but surely getting back to normal. What color did you imagine???? So funny what we picture. I totally thought Fiery was Irish- pale with red hair. Though Robbie and Sabine somehow look just like I would expect.

With your PS name, I thought you would be Chinese!
9.gif
Which wouldn''t stop blond hair, but probably not natural...

Dreamer- I often wonder how many people think that!
3.gif
LIke maybe I am Chinese and love cats???? It''s actually from a Grateful Dead song, "China Cat Sunflower". I couldn''t think of a screen name, and I was trying to think of something that wouldn''t give me away to close friends and FI at the time. I love the Dead, but you wouldn''t necessarily associate them with me. Actually, one of my best friends used to use it as her password, and it always reminds me of her so I "stole" it.

But funnily enough, I thought Mela might be Asian for some reason the first few posts I read of hers. NO idea why. I think maybe I didn''t "know" her well at the time and confused her with another poster that I knew was Asian.

I thought Mela was Asian too! haha... I think it is because her whole name "Mela Lu" sounds like an asian surname...

All of you ladies just look great! And NYC, I love your twin belly!

Robbie - that amount of food seems completely reasonable to me.
2.gif

China - I was picturing you with dark brown hair, so that latest pic shocked me too!
3.gif

What I do with pictures is to open them in Paint, and then select "resize/skew", and then play with the percentage until it looks about right. With my camera, that usually comes out to 10-15% for posting on here.

Sabine - hope your breathing gets better.

Mandarine- I''m so sorry about your "friend". That does suck.

DD- Oh, that is probably why I thought Mela was Asian too!!!

Blen- How are you feeling? Thanks for the info on the picture resizing!

Robbie- I think that amount of food sounds just about right for a preggo! Your description of your DH made me laugh. I don't know if I already posted this so forgive me if I have but I had a strong craving for Domino's Pizza a few weeks ago. Not just pizza, it HAD to be Domino's. Don't know when the last time I even had Domino's, but it was not to be ignored. DH was out for the night, so I ordered a medium and ate the whole thing. He came home and was HORRIFIED that I had eaten an entire pizza. Now, it's a lot, but come on, have you seen those slices lately? Puny. So about a week later I had the same craving, DH was working late or something so I ordered it again. I told DH and he rather worriedly said, you aren't going to eat the whole thing again, are you? So I ordered a Large this time, so it looked like I had some left over.
11.gif
Don't get between me and pizza!!!!!

Oh, and update on kicks- I definitely feel movement now. Once I found out I had an anterior placenta, I wasn't really worried, but it's cool to feel them. For me, they feel like tiny earthquakes or sometimes like an extra heart beating but erratically. DH can feel it when he puts his hand on my stomach, but they aren't really strong enough to notice unless I have my hands on my belly.

ETA: Mandarine, sorry to hear about your friend.
7.gif
That was absolutely in excusable on her part, it was not her news to share. I can't even imagine. But I am sorry that it seems to be the end, or at least a break in your friendship. That's really hard, especially during such an emotional time was pregnancy.

Add me to those lists! Another reason is that there is really a huge proportion of people on PS who *are* Asian...so honestly I almost always assume someone is Asian until I hear otherwise!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

I was able to take one of my sil''s Allegre''s, which surprisingly helped immensely, so I was able to enjoy the rest of our visit, although I have to say, we had one really funny episode. This was the first time my brother was hosting Easter, and he was soooo excited to make a ham. He brought it home, and our mom was like, that doesn''t really look like a ham, but he ignored her. When it was done, he went to carve it, and it was indeed a pork shank and not a ham! He was so disappointed! The rest of us just found it really funny.

After this trip I am definitely second guessing whether I want my mother to come stay with us for the birth. I''ve definitely had as much of her as I can take, and she soooo knows how to push my buttons, especially when I''m dealing with "disciplining" my dog. I think a hotel will be more than close enough for us.

As for the ethnicity thing, I didn''t think of Mela as Asian, and I didn''t picture China as Chinese, but definitely didn''t think she was a blond!

China, you look really cute.

Well, I don''t think I''m ever having this baby. No signs of anything. Not even having Braxton Hicks lately. I hope I''m one of those women who just starts having contractions the day of delivery! And I just hope it''s sooner than later.

I can''t sleep through the night and I''m crazy emotional/hormonal.

HAHAHA This is hilarious!!!!

Asian!? So funny. I can be your Italo-Asian. Why not?! But for real though, I did think ChinaCat was Asian at first...the blond really surprised me. Oh, and I LOVE Jennifer Aniston's hair. MAN. Talk about a great feature. That hair...

ETA: Courtney - so sorry that you're getting to that point. I feel like everyone hits that "omg please end" wall. I have no advice. Hang in there sister.

This is my last week of work before I start Mat leave. WAHOO! I'm thankful, because I'm starting to get really uncomfortable sitting in a chair. I find the most comfy place is my giant excersize ball. For some reason, chairs give me heartburn (unless I arch my back) and I'm finding that the baby is most comfy 'hanging' in between my spread legs. yoinks. I still have 5.5 weeks left!!!!!

In terms of prep...What did some of the Mommies wear while in active labour? I'm hoping to have a natural labour and delivery, so something that affords me mobility and comfort. Anyone? I may have to post this in the Mommies thread.

Oh and a little Monday morning wake up survey: any features/characteristics you are hoping your LO gets from either you or your partner?

I was thinking about this last night as I was looking at FI's hair. The man has great hair. I'm really hoping she'll get his hair. Oh and also his eyelashes. He has really long eyelashes that are kind of girly (shhh don't tell him I said that).

Fiery - you red hot latina!

I gots 5 weeks left and I have almost NOTHING DONE!!!!! HAHAHAHA.
I do have some cute Etsy stuff though....lalalalalala.

I found that the best way to sit too! A website I found called it making a hammock for the baby when you sit--arching the back, spread the knees, and really let the stomach and pelvic floor muscles REEEELAAAAX. It supposedly encourages baby to get in a good position and I did it all the time in the last week and I think it helped.

As for what to wear, I wore two hosptial gowns, one put on front ways and one put on pack ways. Nice a loose and comfy.

PS: That corporate picture is hilar! You look like a motivational speaker

Hammock. EXACTLY! That is exactly what I do on my ball. Thx DD. Also, hospital gown is good times. What about the labouring I''ll be doing at home? Middie says we labour at home until 8 cm. What would a good ''home labour'' ''fit be?

Check out my other Corporate pic if you want a REAL character shot!

I was planning to wear a loose PJ top that was basically a big T-shirt that went down to my knees! And you will probably want to be nekkid when pushing.

Mela- You are mighty pretty. Those pictures are so funny though, especially the last one. I don''t think of you as very "corporate"!!! Oh, and I most definitely do NOT have Jennifer Aniston''s luscious hair! Hers is way thicker and prettier than mine- I was just trying to think of someone similar color-wise. It''s not as blonde as hers is now, just same tone. That''s so funny that everyone is surprised I am blonde-ish. I wonder what it is about us that gives us these impressions????

Courtney- Sorry, girl, hang in there. I think I distinctly remember Blen feeling this way too. Must just be part of it, getting you ready to be done.

Fiery- 3rd trimester???? Slow down! If you are 3rd, I am right behind you. So NOT ready for anything. I''ve done NOTHING. No nursery, no classes. Half registered. Sheez. How are you feeling? How was your date with Marc?
31.gif

Speaking of 3rd tri ladies, where''s Ebree? Hi Ebree!
35.gif
Hope you''re doing well.

Sabine- Well, at least you figured this out about your mom BEFORE you invited her to stay with you, right? Now you have me thinking.

Fiery''s survey: Hmmm. This is going to sound really weird, but I haven''t really done much of the picking out parts of our kid yet. It''s just so hard for me to imagine a combo. The weird part is that with an ex-BF, I totally knew exactly how it would look, and which parts of me and him I wanted. The ex and I looked so different, I think it was easier to think of a blend. My DH and I don''t look alike, but we''re both light-haired, light-eyed. My DH did say that he wants the kid to have my "eyeballs"- not my eye color, mind you, but my vision. And his teeth.

I guess I would say my skin color and tone, his eye color and my hair color. His teeth for sure. My eyelashes. His smarts, but my creative sensibilities. His organizational skills and neatness. I think I imagine it will look more like him cause it''s a boy????

Hi ladies! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. This is going to be a short one (I have some catching up to do) because I have a ton to do around the house this morning, but I wanted to brag about my amazing husband a little.

Last Thursday night, he surprised me by having one of my best friends fly in for a 'baby weekend.' We watched tons of movies, went shopping, got pedicures, and had a mini baby shower. It was so much fun. All of my good friends live in different states (most in my home state) so I've had no one to hang out with this entire pregnancy. I desperately needed a girls weekend, and he made it happen- and kept it a complete surprise. It had been in the works for two months and I had no clue!

Anyway, I'll catch up sometime today, but I wanted to check in and say hello!

ETA: Hey there, China! I must have read your mind- I didn't see your post before updating!

Hi Ebree! That was really sweet of DH to do!

China-Funny story about my Marc date. We have the subwoofer of our surround sound on the ground. We hadn’t had down stairs neighbors in a while so I forget that when we watch something we have to lift it from the ground. Our condo didn’t come with the sound proof barrier they put on the floor (so they can hear every step we take, when the washing machine starts/stops, etc.)
Anyway, I’m watching the DVD and my neighbor knocks on the door. I thought oh crap! But instead she came by to drop off some food. She said she’s Puerto Rican and also from NY so she loves the music and thought I’d appreciate some food. HAHAHA So I invited her in and we chatted for a little while.
