Does anyone have a suggestion for a heartburn remedy other than tums?
35.gif
Sit upright, eat something absorbant like bread, drink less fluids with food, or drink a little milk, and moving up the scale of heartburn meds. I think prevacid is next, then prilosec? Obv. talk with your doc about those. Apparently tums can cause rebound heartburn where it gets better temporarily and then comes back just as bad or worse later so just go easy on them.

Congratulations Swimmer! Hope you''re both recovering well!!

Congratulations, Swimmer!! So happy for you!! Can''t wait to hear your story!!

HH - Thanks for letting us know!! I have been waiting and wondering!!!

Yoghurt or ice cream in addition to the Tums usually works for me.

Re: Heartburn:

my OB told me it was OK to take OTC Zantac 75, but it wasn''t as effective for me as Tums.

I love Tums, they''ve seriously saved me on numerous occasions. Milk and dairy give me heartburn more than anything else, but I think that''s a touch of lactose intolerance. I have heard that too many tums can lead to a higher risk of kidney stones though which scare me so I don''t pop them quite as often as I did during the first trimester.

It''s Friday and I seriously don''t even have the motivation to get dressed for work. How sad is that

No wonder I don''t have any heartburn. I eat ice cream everyday.

How exciting! That''s a new thing for us too. It drives me CRAZY when "Gary" is kicking like crazy and I can see and feel it from the outside and I tell DH to hurry and he walks over to me like a sloth.
38.gif

**sigh** I just had to lecture my know-it-all pregnant friend about what an anterior placenta was....she responds with "wow, so many things going on with your pregnancy that I''ve never heard of..."

You mean, you DON''T know everything about the pregnant female experience?? Wait, has hell frozen over? Maybe you should hold back with the lectures on lame s*it until you get your MD in obstetrics. Seriously, she''s on her second pregnancy. I would totally take advice from Mrs. Duggar on pregnancy, but someone who''s only birthed one child thus far? I think not...

She has been all up on me with lectures about EVERYTHING since getting pregnant. I feel so...satisfied!

thanks so much for the suggestions about heartburn. Mine seems to come and go and right now it is flaring up with gusto. I think that I will have to try ice cream as remedy before taking this up with my dr

kicks are the greatest.

my husband is still totally in awe when he sees my belly bouncing all around

AFM - all is well! We are researching pediatricians in the area and have it narrowed down to two practices. One is the front runner due to recommendations and hours, but it doesn''t have well/sick patient waiting rooms. I guess I should go post in the new moms thread to see how important this is . . . Also, my work is re-taking all of our photos for our website and I am trying my hardest to get out of it. At nearly 35 weeks pregnant, I''m not feeling much like taking glamour shots, plus my current photo isn''t outdated. Hopefully, someone will understand my late-pregnancy vanity

. This afternoon is the babe''s 4th and final shower

. Lots of love for this kid. It should be a nice, laid back lunch so I''m looking forward to it.

and here''s my BPF

Lulu you look great!!

Congrats Swimmer!!!

Lulu--you look splendid!
ugh, incontinence in the 3rd tri would not be cool (well, at any point really).
After my son was born i had zero bladder control. For about 4-5 days PP my bladder would just give out in a gush and i would pee my pants. It was kinda scary and awful b/c i was afraid to go anywhere. At first i thought it was excess amniotic fluid draining but the nurse quickly corrected me and was like "um, no, sorry honey, you can''t control your bladder"
15.gif
. I was so frightened things would stay that way and i''d be in diapers along with my kid. But she explained that since my pushing stage was really fast and furious for a first birth, my son was a good size and possibly i pushed too hard or at the wrong times, i had traumatized the PC muscles and they were temp. damaged. She was right, things improved steadily, but i warn friends about this now!

Congratulations Swimmer. I can't wait to hear your story!
Lulu- You look awesome!!

I haven't been on and I feel horrible for not posting, but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments and wishes. This has been the most incredible experience for me, and I wish the exact same for each and every one of you ladies!

Deb, thank you so much for your lovely post. I teared up reading it. Christopher has been as much of an angel after birth, as he was teh 9 months of pregnancy. I sure hope this is something I can be looking forward to for the next few years as well.

Great shot Lulu!
I always love seeing your belly pictures.

Just a brief update, Swimmer had her little one this morning and is doing well. I'm sure she'll check in once she's got her feet under her. I just didn't want anyone to worry, cause well, we preggos worry a lot!

Swimmer, so happy for you and the hubs. Can't wait to hear your story and meet your little man!

I didn't see this until today. Wonderful news. Congratulations, swimmer! I, also, want to hear your story in detail!
Hugs,
Deb/AGBF

Congratulations Swimmer!

YAHOO for Swimmer and family! Can''t wait to see pics and hear the story

sbde- CONGRATS! My GYN had me come in to confirm my home preg test as I had just begun to embark on fertility tests (bloodwork) the month before. My number was super-high at 19DPO, so that was a good sign.

Oh Lulu, sorry to hear about your heartburn. I too am experiencing it again, and am sticking with the tums. Great pic, as usual- you look FABULOUS!

Mama Mere- glad to see you here!

I had a busy week. our industry''s big show/convention was held here, so I trekked downtown each day to do the "convention" thing- loooong days of meetings/meals/parties. I managed to rest as much as possible but it still did a number on me. Today i''m headed south to San Diego for a weekend with the girls, which I''m really looking forward to.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Congratulations Swimmer! I''m SO happy for you!!

I caught a profile shot of myself in a mirror today at Homegoods and said "Sh*t, I''m really pregnant, aren''t I." TJ almost peed himself laughing. Apparently wearing jersey gauchos makes me want to let it all hang out. Pics coming on Tuesday when the site is back up. It''s funny.

HH, where''s the "Holy crap, I''m really pregnant!" belly shot??

Not much going on here...almost 29 weeks.
36.gif
I passed the glucose tolerance screening and my iron levels are still in the good range even though I haven''t been taking any. Yay! I also got my Rhogam shot on Monday. They let me get it in my arm instead of my bootie which I was happy about. It was unpleasant and a bit sore afterwards but definitely not awful.

These days I''m really enjoying my time with our unborn child. Sometimes, I just lay in bed or on the couch and hang out with him. His movements are way more pronounced when I''m laying down and he''s on a pretty consisent schedule so I usually set aside like half an hour every day for just *us*. I think I''ll miss that part of being pregnant when he''s here.

Lindsey, i''m thinking of you! I know that you''re not due for another month, but I thought you were planning to deliver early. Hope all is going well.

pupp, this made me tear up! I''ve started doing something similar, and even mentioned to DH the other day that although I can''t wait to meet Bebe, i''m somewhat sad that (s)he won''t be "mine" once (s)he arrives.

I hear ya! We have to *share* OUR babies when they come. I''ve grown quite attached to my little guy so I''m going to treasure our *just us* time.

HH--lol i do that all the time! Sometimes just passing by a store window or a car or something i do a double take and think " Whoa, that''s me!"

Hope everyone else is swell.
Closing in on 37 weeks here and reality is scarily setting in that i am close to term. How did that happen?!

I know, I know. DH has the camera and has been traveling. I promise I''ll upload it tonight.

I''m just about 32 weeks and I''m FINALLY enjoying being pregnant a bit. I''ve also begun lying down for a while everyday just to be with Baby Lily. All the movements are so pronounced and I love when I can see a foot. I''ve been feeling pretty good and loving the way my belly looks. I don''t remember liking my belly at all when I was preggo with JT so it''s new for me.

Yesterday a kid at the park (probably 2.5) came up and whacked me in the belly with a baseball bat. His mother (who was visibly preggo) didn''t say a word.
29.gif
He was little but it still hurt and made me nervous for a while.

We got most of the nursery furniture on order and everything should be in in time for Baby''s arrival. I still can''t believe we had to replace everything.

Looks like everyone is having a good week! Yay!

shiny - you got hit with a baseball bat
6.gif
oh my goodness. so sorry. glad to hear that you and lily are having such a nice third trimester. I think that I've moved beyond the pregnancy sweet spot at this point

HH - still waiting for that pic ha! I'm sure that your bump looks amazing!!

pupp - hurray for 29 wks. hurray for an arm and not bootie shot. hurray for bonding
30.gif

jas - are you having any inklings as to whether your full term babe (hurray) is a boy or a girl? how exciting!!

So, I think that I've been largely able to avoid the ole pregnancy brain. except this morning. when I went into work. and forgot to wear a bra. holy mortification. I realized it as I was going up to my office in the elevator and was absolutely horrified. thankfully, I get to work really early so I didn't run into any of my co-workers and I had a sports bra in my drawer from the days (a long, long time ago) when I used to exercise. Unfortunately, the bra is hot pink. oh dear. thank goodness it's almost friday

ETA - so glad that pricescope is back. ahhhh
