lulu...you cannot be 37 weeks, wow!!! go you. time is just flying (i know it doesn''t when you are preggo though)...!

FWIW i have never filled both pump bottles with milk. they hold about 4.5oz each and the most i have ever pumped at one session is 8oz (with tons of breast compression!). some gals can get crazy milk from pumping, my friend pumpls like 12-15oz a session but everyone else i know pumps way less. if you EBF also sometimes pumping will not get you very much-it''s weird but it happens. since i am EP''ing for a while now, my bb''s are used to the pump but i still can''t prob get ''every drop'' out like J could. my friend who EBF''s can only pump like 2-3oz at a time but her baby is getting at least like 5-6oz from eating directly. babies are so much more effective than the mechanical!

did you get the ameda? i can''t remember. if so you can also order 2 extra bottles online, and they come with caps. i got these so that i can pump at work and cap them off for the fridge and still have 2 clean ones at home. i also got extra little white seal things and the translucent cap thingies that go in the flange. you will have to change those out at some point, i do like once every month because it does affect suction.

!
I would just wait and see how much milk you produce. I am a crazy producer and have on a few occasions pumped almost 8 oz from one side. I just borrowed some 8oz Dr. Brown''s bottles from a friend of mine and they work with the pump so you could just buy bigger bottles if you end up needing them.

Mara - your tips are so extremely helpful! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Keep ''em coming!

Lovely - I can''t believe you are FULL TERM!!!! We were dreaming of this day for one another back in our TTC days!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My memorial day weekend was wonderful! DH and I spent the whole weekend in Chatham (Cape Cod) and it was so nice and relaxing!! Another couple we are friends with joined us for the last leg of the trip which was fun. There were a few times when I was feeling a little lightheaded and breathless, but I think it was because I wasn''t drinkiing enough water (which I might add is hard to do when you aren''t sure where you''ll be able to find a bathroom). I''m going to talk to my Dr. about it this week.

I have my 20 week appt. w/ my OB tomorrow and then my gender/anatomy scan on Thurs!!!
36.gif

Is it weird that I''m nervous for the scan? I''m really anxious about finding out the sexes - I can''t believe it''s this week!!

Apologies in advance for the "me" centric post. I need all the help I can get right now- dust, good vibes, etc...

Just got back from my weekly OB appt where an ultrasound was done to confirm bebe''s position. (S)he is NOT head down as thought last week, but is breech. So doc discussed options- I can either go for an external cephalic version now (since I''m in my 37th week) or leave things alone and go into labor naturally but deliver via c-section.

We decided to try ECV- it''s scheduled for this Friday morning. One of 3 things could happen:
1) bebe will be successfully turned and hopefully stay that way until i go into labor
2) bebe will not be able to be turned, I wait and go into labor naturally but definitely have a c-section
3) bebe is able to be turned, but goes into fetal distress and I have an emergency c-section stat

My mind is spinning. I understand that ECV is very painful, but I''m willing to try it in hopes that it works (chances are 50/50). I''m just worried that the worse case-scenario (#3) may happen.

Has anyone ever had this done? know someone who has? I''m trying not to look it up online and freak myself out. DH is handing the "research" on this one.

I''m going to do everything I can between now and Friday to get bebe to turn on her own- looks like I''ll be spending LOTS of time on my hands and knees!

Please, please, please shoot PS dust my way...

Charger, my friends had a successful version done at 42 weeks on an 11 lb infant!!! Unfortunately, said baby did not come out the normal way despite being properly reoriented. They did not mention anything about the turning procedure being painful (the multiday labor prior to eventual c-section? yes, painful.) Anyway good luck! Like most things, they mentioned that it is best to have someone super-experienced do the procedure. I think their usual care provider had initially tried to turn the baby but not succeeded. Then they recruited the ''version expert'' and it was done fairly quickly.

Charger, I am so sorry. I''m sure this is very stressful. I haven''t had and don''t know anyone who has had ECV but I wanted to send you LOTS of baby turning dust! ....and a big *HUG*.

Charger, I have no insight to give, I just want you to know I''m thinking of you....

CG yay for 37 weeks...!

I am not sure what an ECV is but many years ago my Mom had a nurse externally turn my youngest sister during labor, she was breech and this one large guy was able to turn her so that Mom could have a VB. This was 18 years ago.

I also thought my OB told me that the baby can basically turn back and forth til almost the very end, and that if a babe was head down OR breech almost up to the end (I guess also depending on room in there?) they can still move around if they are really determined.

Is there an option to turn the babe while in labor like my Mom had them do?

Anyway, lots of dust for the ECV and hope that babe is able to be turned with no distress and stays that way!

charger, sending tons of dust your way! I hope the ECV is successful and not too painful.

lulu, can''t believe you''re 37 weeks! You''re so close!

Blushing, can you believe you''re 20 weeks already?? More than halfway there! Can''t wait to hear your gender news! I am going to guess one boy and girl!

Allie, I''m thinking girl for you!

With the PS 2.0 change, I cut down my PS time. I''m not going to have much PS time anyways when baby arrives. Not sure how I''m going to handle 2 kids. I''m getting nervous!

I''m 21 weeks now and feeling lots of baby movements. Love feeling movements! It''s my absolute favorite part of being pregnant. I can''t believe it''s June already! That means probably in less than 4 months we''ll have another baby! I can''t wait to meet her!

I had some horrible back/belly pain on my right side for the last 3 weeks. It was a burning pain in my back and an achiness on my belly that wouldn''t go away. I finally went in to see a chiro and after 4 visits I''m finally feeling better!

Can''t remember if I posted this but I decided to get the weekly progesterone shots. My husband is giving them to me. I''m 3 shots into it and it''s not as bad as I thought it would be. I am also over my fear of needles because I''ve been filling the syringe myself. The needle is huge, 1.5 inches, and before I wouldn''t dare look at it! The first shot with the nurse training DH was great. The first at home shot was horribly painful! I think the shot was too low and inserted too slowly. Thankfully the third shot went smoothly. I just need to remind DH to put the needle in fast like a dartboard! I think he''s getting more comfortable doing it so that''s good.

Hope everyone else is well!

Here''s a late belly picture too.

Snlee, glad the shots are going well now. Let's hope this baby bakes for at least another 18 weeks!

Cute belly shot! I like that you caught them in the same dress!

I can't believe I forgot to tell you all on my morning post but we decided on a name! Our little guy will be named Nolan! I'll remind you guys when PS 2.0 eats my post.

ETA - lovelylulu - here's to hoping this painless progress means an easy labor for you! Full term - wow, what an accomplishment!!

Love Nolan!

Charger - Unfortunately, I don't have any advice to offer you, but hope that you are able to get good advice/info from your dr!!!

thanks for all the congratulations on reaching 37 weeks

blushing - i can't believe you are at 20 weeks!!! do you have any gender preferences? can't wait to find out with you!!

snlee - love the pregnancy comparison photos. you look smashing!!

pupp - nice choice with the name!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the kind words. I was really down this morning upon hearing the news, and have slowly but surely taken the bull by the horns and am now thinking positively!

DH has been fantastic, finding all sorts of maneuvers and positions that we'll be trying tonite. He also reached out to the doula that taught our 6-week birthing class and she recommended I check out some chiropractors/acupuncturists that specialize in prenatal and postpartum care. I'm lucky I live in L.A with lots of resources at my disposal! I was able to get an appointment tomorrow for this practice and will give it a shot. Their website is fascinating. I'd like to think that a miracle could happen and that bebe will turn as a result of all this, but at least it may help Friday's EVC go more smoothly.

Well, still ITCHING, !!! but the good news is I''m dialated to 4 and bebe is almost done baking!!!

YAY Baby soon!!!!!!

SoExcited, what fantastic news! I never knew you could be a whole 4cm dilated and NOT in labor? I''m learning new pregnancy things every day.

I''m totally a taker not a giver when it comes to belly pics so I figured I would post one. Here I am on Sunday - 30 weeks. Sorry for the dumpy pants. They''re so comfy!

Sorry it''s so big!

Awww, cute bump Pupp!

Pupp your bump is so perfect and round! :) adorable!

Pupp, what''s scarier DH with a razor or a brazilian???

Cute bumps everyone! So glad to see an abundance of BPF contributions.

Dipping my toe in even though this post will disappear with PS 2.0.

I''m pregnant! I''ve been feeling out of sorts for a few weeks and my period hadn''t shown so I decided to take a hpt. I was shocked to see two lines appear! I took another one the next day just to be sure I wasn''t fooling myself
41.gif

My cycles are way out of wack from not being able to take bc so I haven''t been keeping track but we''re estimating that I''m in my 6th week with an EDD of January 26. We are really excited and it''s still so unreal to me.

I am feeling pretty good so far - mild headache, majorly tender boobs, back ache, fatigue and sensitivity to smells. So far no puking! I am asking for a zofran prescription though because my ms was pretty bad with my first pregnancy.

Since I have a previous history of DVT and GD my pregnancy is considered high risk so I will be seeing my regular OB and also a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialist. I go to my first OB appointment next Thursday and see the MFM spec. on June 21. I will be continuing my aspirin therapy and the MFM is going to start me on Lovenox, which is an injectable heparin to prevent clots from forming.

So nice to join this thread once again!

It''s close - but at least I wouldn''t have to look the esthetician in the eye the next day!

Welcome Diva! Congrats! The high risk stuff is scary but hopefully they will be watching you closely and all will be well!

HH, hmm, neither? I''d probably try to razor myself without visibility over the DH. And some kind of bikini rather than a brazillian if forced to undergo the wax, but waxing doesn''t work out all that well for me.
40.gif
I think wazing is supposed to be more painful (if that is possible) while preggo so be warned!

Soexciting you must be close! And lulu too, soon we will lose you to the mommy thread. Ah, pregnancy is finite but motherhood is for much longer.

Diva: I''ve already congratulated you....but wanted to wish you the very best. Glad to see you and your doctor''s are being proactive with your high risks needs.

Gah, I can''t wait until I''m back on this thread also!

Diva - so many happy congratulations!!!! sounds like this pregnancy will be well managed from the beginning - so hopefully it''ll be nice and smooth!

tao - you are welcome back any time
31.gif

HH - I''m just sticking to a bikini wax. Can''t do it myself and there is NO WAY I would get my DH involved. maybe to paint my toes, but even that is perhaps best left to the professionals.

Soexcited - I''m sooo excited that you are so close. Thinking of you!!!!!

I was wondering what I would do with the vajayjay before delivery time. Are we allowed to use Nair?

Hey everyone! I know that I''ve been MIA since Connor was born 5 weeks ago, but I just wanted to check in & say hi even though I haven''t had time to read through past pages & catch up.

Swimmer & Lindsey, CONGRATS!!!

Snlee, congrats on team pink!

Diva, congrats & welcome!

SoExcited, Jas, Lulu & Charger - I can''t believe that you''re all due this month - SoExcited, you are due any day now!!!

Allie, I had the same question as you, and it is OK to use depilatories. However, I used Veet when I was 38 weeks, and had such a horrible rash, I had to treat it with hydrocortisone cream - I recommend avoiding those creams. I did shave the day before I went in for my induction, and my OB said, Wow, I can''t believe you shaved! I was surprised that she commented on it, but maybe because it''s so tricky to shave when you can''t see what you''re doing ...
