Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Lovelylulu, report back after the wax. Maybe you''ll inspire me to do the same!

So, I have my doctor''s appointment tonight. I''m afraid that when I mention all of my contractions, they might want to check my cervix and I''m not *prepared* for that, KWIM? When they check your cervix, they''re not LOOKING, right?

Allie, I had the same question as you, and it is OK to use depilatories. However, I used Veet when I was 38 weeks, and had such a horrible rash, I had to treat it with hydrocortisone cream - I recommend avoiding those creams. I did shave the day before I went in for my induction, and my OB said, Wow, I can''t believe you shaved! I was surprised that she commented on it, but maybe because it''s so tricky to shave when you can''t see what you''re doing ...

It will come down to either having DH give me a shave or using some Nair. I don''t want to go into delivery with a bushy chucky.

Honestly, that was the least of my worries. But if you want to do something, I do stay away from Nair. You don''t want a horrible rash down there.

So Excited, yay for 4cm! Anytime now! Good luck!

puppmom, cute bump! You look great!

Diva, welcome back! Congrats again!

At 13+4, I think I''ve finally been shamed into posting more on the "big girl" preggo thread

pupp- You look absolutely fabulous. Such a cute preggo belly. And NO, they generally are not looking when they check your cervix. Just with their uncomfortable hands ha.

HH- Hahaha, love your latest super classy belly photo. You definitely have popped. There''s no denying Aidan in there anymore.

Diva- Congratulations!! I''m sure your docs will be keeping an extra close eye on you.

Soexcited- Lucky girl! You body is doing fabulous work without you having to feel a darn thing. I think the most I''ve seen someone was 5 cm dilated and not actually be in active labor.

tao- Well, returning to this wonderful thread is certainly in your power..
11.gif
We would love to have you!

allie- I am with the other ladies on avoiding the Nair down there. I''d go for a wax if it is important to you.

snlee- You look fabulous in both photos
9.gif
And what a cute dress! I need a summery maternity dress like that.

Welcome, icekid!

Alright - I''m letting it all hang out tonight. No *prepping* - wish me luck!

Hahahaha, someone''s been watching RHONJ!!!!!

BTW, I can''t believe Theresa dressed her baby like that to bring her home from the hospital. That hat was bigger than the baby!

IceK, welcome to the big girl thread!!

That pic was klassy, wasn''t it???

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I think I''m having RLP already. I''ve been having a pulling feeling in my lower abdomen and sometimes on either side. It''s not constant and it doesn''t hurt but it is uncomfortable. Makes me worry even though I''m not bleeding. Oh the joys....

Welcome Icekid and Diva!!

I had another great appt today. Baby''s heart is still getting along perfectly. She did drop the other day but the dr says not to worry. The early drop doesn''t happen often in second pregnancies but she looks so good if she was born tomorrow she''d be fine. (I''ll be 34 weeks fri). I''m 2 lbs over my pre-preggo weight now, which is a gain of 17 lbs for the pregnancy. I was hoping to keep my gain at under 15lbs, but I''m not complaining considering how much weight I lost to begin with. I had a two hour wait at the office today. When a baby is born they play a lullaby over the sound system. You just can''t be upset when the dr is late and they''re playing Brahm''s in celebration.

pupp~ I have those same pants! I just wore them today, they are super-comfy.

Re: DH shaving.......DH actually waxes me even if I''m not preggo. I can''t get a good hold on that and he likes to be the artiste anyway. I have no idea what look I''m sporting these days!

We got the crib and dresser today. We''re pretty prepared (I think) but I can''t set anything up for another couple weeks because the nursery will be housing 3 little relatives starting this Sat for 2 weeks.

Sorry for not catching up. I''m trying to finish some projects before the houseguests arrive. Hope you''re all feeling well!

Shiny - that is excellent news that Lily''s heart is working perfectly. Interesting info about the early drop! And kuddos on such little weight gain.

Icekid - welcome

Pupp - hope that your appointment went well. I was actually surprised by how uncomfortable checking my cervix is. ouch

got me thinking about actual labor

and since PS 2.0 still hasn''t taken effect, I will continue to share info about my personal grooming
5.gif
- I''ve been getting waxed pretty regularly through this pregnancy and just had my most recent appointment yesterday. At this point in my pregnancy, I can''t see what I''m doing to shave and I personally just prefer waxing. I haven''t noticed that it hurts any more or less due to being pregnant. So, I would recommend fully to anyone considering it.

I would even more fully recommend getting a pedicure. ahhhhh.

GUILTY! I can''t imagine how awesome she looked right after giving birth. Holy Smokes. I am sure she had the RH team glam her up!

Gender Predicitions!

Blushing-I''m going with my standard twin girls since we need another set of twin girls here

Allie-I''m also voting girl for you!

Charger-I vote boy!

I reserve the right to change my votes if E_B agrees with anything I voted

SS, what fantastic news! It must be such a relief to know your little girl is healthy after all of that worry! Oh, and you are a BRAVE woman to let your DH wax you. My DH is not so handy so I wouldn''t let him near that area with anything hot or sharp.

Lovelylulu, thanks for sharing your experience. I think I might give waxing a try. Even if it''s painful at the time, it''s got to be better than the post-shave itch!

Diva, welcome! I''m glad to hear your docs are going to keep a close eye on you. It''s always nice to have that bit of extra attention to ease any concerns you may have.

So I had my appointment last night. There was an emergency yesterday and they were backed up an hour! The wait was absolutely horrendous. They apologized a million times but I had lost my sense of humor by the time they saw me. Anyway, all is well. My doc was able to give me clear instructions regarding my BH contrax. She said more than 4 per hour for 2 hours that I can''t stop with changing positions, water etc. that I need to go to triage. Once I''m 36 weeks, I don''t need to go unless I''m having regular contractions that get closer and worsen - i.e. REAL LABOR. I gained 3 pounds this month which I was happy about since baby gained almost half of that. I seriously could have KILLED DH. The doc said my weight gain since last month was "perfect" and I was sort of proud because I had gained so much early on. I worked REALLY hard this month at getting more exercise and cutting down on the junk. Anywho, when the doctor stepped out, DH says to me, "3 pounds is good and all but it''s definitely not reason to go out and get a Big Mac or anything." Seriously? During our 10 year relationship I have weighed as little as 110 and as much as 145. DH never notices one way or the other and has NEVER commented on my weight other than to say I look great. Ever since the doc mentioned the 25-35 pound weight gain guideline at our first appointment, he has said a few things. He is taking that freaking GUIDELINE as SCRIPTURE and it''s on my nerves! This morning, I politely said "You and I will not be discussing my weight or what I eat for the rest of this pregnancy." He just said ok but really thinks that his comment was fine and I was being overly sensitive.
38.gif

pupp - my husband has said a few things that cause me to go
20.gif
. for instance, I''ll have no problem losing the baby weight if I just breastfeed. Or something about labor being easy because I''m not opposed to an epidural. I ignore those kinds of comments, but only after I tell him that 1) as a non-pregnant male his insight is incredible
3.gif
and 2) stop making those kinds of comments!!

Congrats on your *perfect* gain!!

I just had to brag on my DH for a moment. (I don''t get to very often!) Every time that I''ve said "I''m fat!" DH immediately counters with "No, you''re pregnant. And you''re beautiful." He keeps track of my meals but only to make sure I''m eating enough. He makes me lunch nearly everyday because he knows I''m so tired I''ll just end up with some crackers or something. I cannot imagine living with someone who was on me about my weight.

gender predictions: The only one I have is for Charger. I''ve thought BOY from the beginning. In fact, I''ve thought boy so much I really thought it was posted somewhere!

Oh hell no!

29.gif

DH would be on the couch for the next 4 months if he said something like that to me...

Thanks, ladies! I totally had to get that off my chest. I know DH''s comments are not about the way I *look* and more about taking the doc''s advice so seriously but damn that was annoying! His sister commented that I was *huge* and he said that I took it the wrong way - how else can you take it? He said he thinks during pregnancy is the one time people can say things like that to a woman. What? Again, like lovelylulu said, the logic of people who''ve never been pregnant!

SS, what a nice hubby! I didn''t mean to make mine sound like a total dunce/jerk but that was a dumb thing to say!

PS - lovelylulu, you mean we won''t lose the weight easily by just breastfeeding? Uh-oh!
9.gif

HH, "Oh no you didn''t" were probably my exact words. I did cut him a little slack because he can be clueless AND it was kind of funny (in hindsight of course) but he sure does deserve some couch time! The fact that he''s not *getting any* for the next few months should be punishment enough.

Hi All!
35.gif

Well, we had our anatomy scan this morning and we''re having a BOY and a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
36.gif
9.gif
36.gif
9.gif

This is was the outcome we were hoping for (besides having two healthy babies) so, we''re very excited!

Both babies seem to be doing well. They only found one thing which raised a flag which was that our girl has a two-vessel umbilical cord instead of three. However, they examined all her images in great detail and said that everything looked fantastic and not to worry. That coupled with our down syndrome result which were 1 in 4,300 means that we can proceed feeling optomistic that everything is just fine (I''ve been told by two doctors that my genetic testing results came back like that of a 20-year old!
3.gif
).

Anyway, I had never heard of this condition with the umbilical cord, but apparently it''s pretty common and most babies have no issues whatsoever. I guess sometimes it can cause a slower growth rate or heart problems, but she''s right on track and the doctor said her heart looks excellent. They''ll both get an anatomy scan once a month going forward just to monitor everything and we have to go back next week so they can get a better look at our boy''s heart and kidnies (he wasn''t in a good position for viewing).

All in all, a great report overall!
36.gif
Obviously, we all want absolutely perfect pregnancies, but I guess there will always be something to worry about!
