I think I remember that you once ordered this sapphire from Gemrite, but returned it. Any chance you could give your comments on it? I think its lovely, but have no idea how it will look be once the dichroism of sapphire is on 6mm by 6mm scale and not blown up.

Indy,

There''s no picture, but do you mean the cushion purplish sapphire? If so, I''d be glad to share my opinion. The sapphire was almost black, with beautiful flashes of copper. Perfectly cut. Very interesting, but not worth the money IMHO. It also looked tiny, being so dark. The beautiful purple picture was very misleading in my opinion, the sapphire did not look like that in any light as far as I could tell.

Check the other pictures of it, those are more representative. If you decide to order it, I''d love some pictures.

This was what it looked like to my eye, except maybe a bit darker still. I made the picture tiny, so you'd be able to visualize it. I loved the thought of this sapphire and was disappointed when I received it, but then I found another purple sapphire that also has wonderful colorplay. It is being set right now.

Maybe you will love this one, though? It is a special one, that is for sure, it just wasn't my sort of special at the time

Oh goodness, I thought I had attached the picture! I am so silly!

Yes, that was the one. Oh darn. I thought it was such a gorgeous, and interesting stone from the initial picture. The second one does make it seem much darker, almost wine colored; I'm so glad I had a chance to ask you about it. I really want a bright, "happy" feeling gem. Thank you Mariedtiger!

I thought so too, Indy!!! I wouldn''t want you to have the same disappointed reaction. This was not a ''happy'' gem
