cellentani- I have yet to set my spinel. I am pretty sure that I am going to bezel set them into post earrings. I bought them in Tucson last year and am hoping to go back again in 2011. I cannot believe it has been almost an entire year! I want to be absolutely sure I love the idea before I set them so I am in no rush, plus I have a few other expenditures up my sleeve.

I am getting over a horrible stomach flu-which brought on a migraine. You know what that is like! Feeling way better today.
I recycled some diamonds! -those old princess cut studs are now kite-set dangles which connect to a large marquise shaped hammered drop with pave center. (Inspired by Gurhan-set in silver)

Other expenditures up your sleeve? Spill!
I still love the idea of your spinel set with a rose cut surround-or even a simple heavy-ish bezel, or rose cut stud with the spinel (bezel set) dangling underneath, but...I digress.

I have only two words for your new earrings - only marquise...

As for the "other expenditures," I bought a Cartier LOVE bracelet in yellow gold and am holding out for a fancy colored diamond (blue or green). I do want to wait for Tucson (YES, let's go!) before I make a big purchase in case that is where I want to lay down the big bucks for 2011.

I am leaning towards the bezel set studs for the spinels. Nummers......

Hi Coati! We've never talked before, but I'm curious: did you really join in 2009? I came out of lurkdom in '08 and I seem to remember you were around well before then. Am I making this up? Sorry for intruding in your thread, but I had to ask!
