Hey zipzapgirl! I know you got married in Italy a little while ago, and I was wondering whereabouts?

Also, I am wondering how you found your photographer and whether you can recommend him? I''m researching photographers right now and I''m not finding too many great ones in Italy. Most wedding photography in Europe is staged and not very good.

Thanks for your help!

We got married in Recco, which is half an hour north of Genoa.

Our photographer was AWESOME! I really cannot say enough about how wonderful he and his partner were!
He specializes in Reportage, which is more about capturing the moment, especially in an artistic way, than about staged portraits. We did do some formal family pics after the ceremony, but their best work was really the in-the-moment shots and the photo shoot shots. Those were where we walked along the promenade to the waterfront, through the old city, down to the harbor and to the point overlooking the ocean. They''re so amazing they could definitely be in a magazine or in an enormous picture on the wall. One amazing photo after another.

Alberto is very professional, but also very relaxed. He''s been great about flexible times and his price included two photographers for the entire time from dressing prep to the final dance (1pm-1am). We are getting an album and all of the rights to the 1350 photos. I believe this was 1800 EUR, but we got a discount because we were married on a Monday.

If you are not getting married in that area, he does travel. I know he went to photograph a wedding in Japan recently and I believe he would be willing to travel within Italy as well for some travel fees.

Here is his website. The photos on there are good, but ours are a lot better.

If you use him, please tell him Mark and his wife recommended him.

If for some reason that doesn''t work out, here are a couple of other I found during my search. I have not talked to them, but their websites do look promising:

Let me know if you have any questions! So happy to help a fellow Italy bride!

Yay! You replied!

Thanks so much for the recommendations -- I''ll go check them out right away! It''s great to get an endorsement from another PS''er. Maybe you''ll share some of your pics some time?

The pics are in a bulky proof format right now, but they are coming!!

Can''t wait to see them!

By the way -- not only do we seem to share some wedding stuff in common, but our rings look similar, too! (I checked to see if you have a ring thread -- sadly, you don''t...

) It looks like a very elongated cushion on fishtail pave? Anyway, I love it!
