My boss told me to order a digital camera to use for work purposes. I''m so confused by all the choices that my head is spinning! I''m hoping there are some camera buffs out there who can help me out.

Here are the key factors:

-Budget is $500
-At least 10MP (pictures will be used in industry publications and may need to be blown up to be used on posters at expos)
-Good zoom capabilities (I''ll need to be shooting pictures of some of our machines while they''re in operation and I''m not sure how close I''ll be able to get)
-Wide angle lens (Our machines are big)

Any suggestions? People keep telling me to go with a Canon, but there are so many choices even within Canon!

Ok, this is probably a dumb question, but the little thing above where it says "Canon" is a flash right? It kind of looks like you can attach an additional flash on top which is why I''m asking.

yes you can and may need too.
Which is why the g9 is the way too go.
The s5 is another option but the g9 is slighly better for what you want to do.

The canon 430 flash is around $250 if you end up needing it.
