I''ve been thinking about this lately but don''t know if it''s allowed. FDH wants a plain band because he thinks being simple is better and I do agree with him. My ER is absolutely beautiful and a plain band complements it... BUT... I ALSO want an eternity band! One wherein I could wear alone by itself if I don''t feel like wearing my ER. Are there ladies here who have 2 wedding bands that they "interchange" based on their moods?

There''s also one more dilemma... if you DO have 2 wedding bands... what did you do for the wedding ceremony? You see... I''m having a church ceremony and I want BOTH rings to be blessed by the minister BUT doesn''t it look weird if you see 3 rings tied in the ring pillow instead of 2?!? I''m thinking of putting a "secret" compartment and put one of the rings so that it gets blessed as well!

Any ideas ladies????

My cousin did this. She got both rings blessed.
She has same idea as you are looking for. One simple plain white gold band. And then an eternity one.
I have to say, her set looks GORGEOUS!

If you want to put both on on your wedding day, I say GO for it!

I have 2!!

I have a mokume band that matches his, and a blingier half-eternity prong set diamond band. I''m only getting married with the mokume one though.

Also, many people (like myself) tie fake rings to the pillow since ring bearers can be a little unpredictable. Usually the best man/MOH holds the real rings at the altar. You can just have your hubby slide both on during the exchanging of rings.

I say get as many bands as you''d like--I have 4 wedding bands, though I only had 2 when we were married. I know several people who have a diamond band and a plain band--some used both at the ceremony (just put them both on at the same time). One of my good friends used her plain band because she bought it to match her husbands and she wanted to use the matching bands for the ceremony. I used my diamond band at the wedding because i thought I''d be wearing it more. However you''d like to do it will be fine!

I have two pave eternity bands, but they match. I got them because I preferred the symmetry with my ering and the pair was within my budget. We used them both in the ceremony, but DH put them on as one "ring" instead of one at a time. My ering was on my right hand for the ceremony and then I changed everything around after. I had a few friends who were peeved about me having two rings because they felt the second ring should come at the 5-year mark. They waited that long and thought I should too. Clearly they were just jealous!

hehehe. I also bought my ring knowing that I wanted to eventually just have stacking bands on my left hand and wear my ering on my right.

Yeah, I''m only using the mokume band for the wedding since it matches his (they were cut from the same billet in fact). I''ll probably end up wearing my diamond one more while I''m still in class, but once rotations start in the hospital, I''ll probably switch to just wearing the mokume band since I don''t want to risk losing my diamonds by taking them on and off for procedures/OR stuff.

oooh, i want two wedding bands as well. it''s nice to have the flexibility of wearing the set in different combinations but still each ring having significant meaning, oh and of course not having to wait for an anniversary for more bling

Yep I have 2! I got both blessed, but wore the one I''d be wearing more often in the ceremony. For me that was clearly the diamond band. But then I wore the simple engraved band on the honeymoon and I wear it when I''m cleaning things like that.

We had a separate ring blessing ceremony as well as a blessing during the actual ceremony. Is this an option?

I have 2! But I didn''t know I was getting the second one. I used a plain wedding band for the ceremony and then DH surprised me with a 7-stone diamond wedding band right after the ceremony! I love both my rings. I always wear all 3 every day, but I switch off between which one I wear with my engagement ring and which one I wear as a RHR depending on my mood in the morning

I will also have two wedding bands! I have my great-grandmother's diamond eternity band (there is a thread in Show Me the Ring but I'm not sure how to link it - I'm new at this!), but I also wanted a plain band so that I could have something with our initials and wedding date engraved inside. I'm not sure how I'll end up wearing them - my engagement ring is also a band so I'm not sure yet if I'll stack them all or move one or two to my right hand - but during the ceremony my fiance will just put them both on at the same time as though it's one ring.

I don''t think of it as "wedding band" as much as I think of them as "Ering accessories".
Hehe, I''ll probably getting even more in the future since I love the look of a little color in my rings!

I''m thinking of getting 2 wedding bands as well. An eternity for fancy pants times, and a plain band for when I need to be practical. I will probably have both for the ceremony so that they both feel like legitimate wedding bands.

Choosing a wedding band has been a nightmare for me. I have mine here ready for my weding in August and I am still having doubts over whether I REALLY love it enough to wear forever. It is a 5mm white gold band with 3 rows of tiny channel set diamonds (half eternity). While I love it, I worry that it is too chunky for me. I have pudgy fingers and with my e.ring too, I feel it makes my finger look really fat.

I have ordered a 3 and a 4 mm plain white gold band to try and see if I want it for everyday wear. If I like either of them, I will keep the to wear as an everyday ring then keep my diamond set one for going out etc.

I''m wearing the diamond one at the moment to see if I can get used to it before the wedding.

I say if you really feel the need o have 2 bands, then go for it!!

I am torn over this, but I don''t think we can afford two right now or by the wedding time either. My dilemma comes because by Jewish law I cannot have stones in the wedding band, it has to be plain. But my ering has 2 matching bands to go with it. So I have informed FI that I would REALLY like to have the matching bands for our 1 year anniversary.

My mother wants two bands, bling for her every day wedding band, and a plain band for travel and camping.

Uh...Clearly! How rude!

I am only using one, a plain platinum band, but that is because we had a wedding budget and I could get shoes for my wedding ($1000) and a plain band ($220) or a diamond band ($1350) and no designer shoes. That just tells you where my priorities are!

But also, FI and I have talked about getting anniversary bands and I am okay with waiting. I love my engagement ring and that is more than enough bling for me.

How dare anyone be peeved because YOU did what YOU and YOUR FI wanted to do for your wedding? HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont see any problems with this...

i have two bands, one is a plain band i can knock around abit and the other a delicate diamond band.

I''ve never heard of this! But hey... you can always have that blingy band for your anniversary! ;)

I have two bands, both blessed. And I am hoping for a 3rd one for an anniversary gift in a few years (aka 5 or 10).

thanks everyone! *whew* at least i'm not the only one who wants 2 wedding bands.

thanks for all the great ideas ladies! i think on the day of the wedding, i'm gonna ask FH to put both rings in my hand as if it's one wedding band.

hmmm.... this thought just popped into my head... since i'm getting 2 wedding bands (and already have a beautiful PR & ER)... i'm still entitled for anniversary bands/rings... right?!?!? (or am i pushing my luck here?!? haha)

I had two bands at my ceremony 10 days ago. We had a wedding band that matched my engagement ring with channel set stones, and I also got a plain flat band. I originally wanted the plain band because I sometimes cannot wear anything with stones or engraving at work, but I''ve found that I really like it! The plain band was what I wore during the day during the honeymoon - it felt safer than wearing my diamond rings and getting them lost in the ocean or in the pool.

I''ve found it also looks kinda cool to have the plain and the diamond band stacked together with no e-ring. At the ceremony, all rings were blessed, and hubby said, "I give you THESE rings..." instead of "I give you THIS ring..."

Go for it!

cleokizzy, if your FI is the type to buy you a PR, seems like anniversary bands are fair play

I was going to go with 2 but one can''t be sized right, so I''m just going wth the one. I think its PERFECTLY acceptable to have 2 rings. Get them both blessed! People will never even notice. Think about it- how often do you notice rings on the pillow? And if you do what most wedding forums say anyways, get decoy rings and have the BM hold them so that nothing happens on the way down the aisle.

seems like other than Hudson_Hawk, everyone had a diamond and a plain band, is it not common to have two diamond bands? that''s what i want to do

I''d also like to have 2 matching diamond bands. I like the symmetry. However I also want 2 rose gold pave bands - one for each side of ering.
You never know what your mood may be that day!

ooh, rose gold, i like the way you think, sassyb

uhmmm.... 2 diamond bands sounds reaaalllyyy tempting... and rose gold bands are unique...

I had the same dilemna. I chose a plain 3mm w/g band as my ''everyday''wedding ring for while I''m doing the housework etc. and a diamond set ring as my ''going out'' one.
