EL1''s post got me excited to share my venue with all the lovely ladies here!

Here are a few photos of our venue - if it seems a little odd at first keep in mind we will be having a Halloween wedding:

First, the exterior of the museum:

Second - the ceremony location:

Third - The Great Hall (reception site):

Fourth - Another view of the reception area:

And finally a photo taken off the hallway of the area where our cocktail hour will take place. FI and I are really looking forward to taking some artistic shots in this area!

Thanks for peeking

Awesome....looks cool!!!!

i think that it all looks really great. i bet you will have a good time there

oh its soo pretty! how cool a halloween wedding!!!! I bet its going to be fun, what are your colors going to be? flowers? cake? hahaha I watched a show on maybe style on time that they would pay for your wedding or something, but it was always mixed up, in this case, the guy planned the wedding, and planned a halloween themed wedding, it was awesome, how fun would that be, a costume party, omg Id love it (can you tell I love halloween?!?!?)

Hey Keeping

What kind of dress are you considering?

What a *beautiful* location. I love that its all in one place and so unique.

That venue is gorgeous and just perfect for your theme!

Ooo a costume part wedding reception would be fun! (too bad my family would never play along with that one)

I''m already married but have always loved the idea of a Halloween wedding especially since my husband and I met on Halloween. I love the idea of a Halloween masquerade party. (although the mask thing is a little problematic). Maybe for an anniversary party.....

I love your venue

Your weddings sounds like a LOT of fun- very memorable for those who are lucky enough to be invited!

Thanks everyone! We are VERY excited about it. We are, in fact, allowing costumes at the reception but we are going to be pretty specific about the fact that it is a wedding and as much as I love a well done zombie, we''d prefer it if our guests did not have skin peeling from their faces

As far as colors go, we have been doing a little research into the colors of nobility and royalty in medieval times. Although we are not thinking medieval themed wedding by any strech, we thought it might be a nice touch if our colors held some symbolism other than "blue is my favorite color".

The cake...oh the cake! We have yet to begin the process of pricing and finding a baker - that will come in the next few months. We really want to go wild with the cake. I really want our cake to be a piece of art in the room. I am actually thinking of contacting Mike''s Amazing Cakes and seeing if we can work out a cake through them.

I haven''t really thought about the dress yet. I''ve been working very hard at losing weight and toning up so I won''t be dress hunting until January at the earliest. I want to give myself a few more months of hard work at the gym so I can get a good idea of what looks good on me as opposed to what I oogle in magazines. All I know is the dress has to have color in it and since I will be trashing it after, I would prefer it be inexpensive.

LOL! Funny you should say that...I am actually learning the Thriller dance. I hope I can get a group of my crazier friends together to actually bust out the dance at some point during the evening!

My FI isn''t much of a dancer and I don''t want to make him do anything he is uncomfortable with. We had decided our first dance song a long time ago so we''re going to stick with that.

We ARE indeed doing a candy buffet. We are probably going to do the chinese take away containers as our "favors" and let guests fill them up throughout the night. At least...that''s the idea right now.

Trashing my dress...I am very excited for that! We actually live near an old abandoned State Hospital. I love the Kirkbride buildings and it certainly jives with the Halloween aspect of our big day. So, we''ll be heading over there to do a session amongst the crumbling historical buildings.

KTF! That place looks incredible!!!

Hey, Mike''s Amazing Cakes is right by me, if you need a taste-tester...

Yay! This will be awesome. The best wedding I have ever been to was a masquerade wedding on Halloween. People went over the top with costumes (and not in a bloody zombie way, KtF

) and everyone was there to have a good time! I am so jealous!
