Or something similar? Do they even exist?

If you go to brides.com and then click on planning it is the image the comes up. They are blue-striped lifesavers with a little woven tag that says save-the-date. I think they would be so cute and whimsical for my beach/cruise wedding. I emailed the site but haven''t heard anything. For all I know it''s just some design they made up to look cute on their page because nothing similar turned up in my searches on Google.

(I''ll try to post a pic at home, I''m at work now).

TIA!

I did a search on "lifering ornament" and"life ring ornament" and came up with some Christmas decorations that you could use to do it yourself. Here''s one: http://www.islandchristmasshop.com/page/I/PROD/x1845.
Just get some twine, print out the cards and tie them to the ring. I think that''s a really cute idea. Although, I''m not sure what size the ones I found are, and they''d have to be pretty small to mail, so they might make good favors or place card holders instead.

Also, depending on how ambitious you are feeling, you could probably buy plain, unpainted wooden rings in various sizes from a craft shop and paint them with the colors you want. Here''s one possibility (under toss rings, halfway down the page):

What a cute idea!

Thank you Selkie for the links. I really like the blue best I think. I''m not much of a crafty person, but one of my bridesmaids is. It might be a fun project to work on the save the dates together, and much cheaper, I''m sure. Hmm, that is a real option.... the only downside I see is that these would be easier to get lost/discarded. It seems most people are going the magnet route for save the dates which is very helpful I think. But these are just so neat.

Thanks, BrightSpot, for posting the pic for others to see!

Sure thing. Maybe you could attach a magnet to the lifesavers so they don''t get lost...

Sarita, do you live near the coast (either one)? If so, I bet if you went to some nearby beach/touristy town you''d find gift shops carrying little trinkets like that. They might not be something you''d commonly find online, but I KNOW I''ve seen things like this in stores (I call them nautical tchotke shops). And like Bright Spot suggested you could easily glue magnets to them.

Selkie,

I do. We are in Maryland, not very far from Annapolis/Bay Bridge coast area. Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! I will definitely explore the options you mentioned.
