Hi,
My husband and i have been looking for the perfect stone for months and in the process we learned alot. One thing that we both agree is that if you want a really good stone stay away from anything that is not GIA or AGS. Its better to sacrifice a little bit of the size for a better quality stone.

The cut could be nice (perhaps pictures would help eliminating uncertainty there), but M would probably not look stark white - a more "antique" version. And chances are EGLs' VS2 is not very conservative. If that's "bad" remains to be seen: if this looks clean perhaps the matter of whether is closer to SI than EGL would recognize is not that bad. The price seems to take these expected grading bias into account. I would probablt not expect to see the GIA M/VS there, but the stone might be nice and the price fair...

Have you asked DCD for more detailed info about this ?

About size...
well, that's rather deep cut. One 0.9cts piece with more reasonable depth is just as big (5.4mm square):

5.4 mm, 0.89cts, K/VS2 GIA... same price.

K is at least a better bet. And this is GIA grades too. "Excellent" symmetry is not very common on fancy cuts... and this one has it.

Perhaps DCD could give an opinion of these two options, if not some side-by-side photo. Color would not show in a picture though - just the shape and light return (assuming those are IdealScope pictures) would appear reasonably well.

To get into the "safe bet" color range (H-I, say), that should get to be a 5mm stone (.6 -.7 cts). It would be worth seeing these ones. The choice of color grades is not very "standard" but this does not mean they are ugly or "yellow" as these grades are sometimes referred to.

If a 3 carat M color got such rave reviews ( this one ), a smaller stone of the same color grade will just look allot less tinted. All for the better

Noting the odd match between the title of your thread, and the name of the category the diamond you've asked for feedback on, falls into, I thought I'd take another stab, reference another option.

Best,
