I know that the picture isn''t going to be very large -- but the flower seems kind of substantial, with cream colored petals and a yellow center. any ideas?

It kind of looks like a tree peony:

I know nothing about flowers.... But it kinda reminds me of an oversized poppy... I know that''s not it, but that''s all I can think of... plus, poppies are white...

those are peonys...

they actually look kind of fake in that first picture!

thanks. fake or not i think that they look gorgeous...

could be a large an Anemone coronaria appropriately also called ''The Bride''

the 'double' petalled flowers are more consistent with the tree peony but that anemone (which is a bulb) is verra purty too! i think those leaves in the first shot are lemon leaves...which are common for bridal bouquets apparently, i love them personally, there are some other leaves that are kind of similar too with that wide easily arrangeable shape.

thanks ladies! i knew that someone on this board has a green thumb --

mara: that''s a great idea/info about the lemon leaves. i''d like some green to my bouqet and those leaves are really nice.

i''m a little sad to learn that bridal bouqet is likely made up of tree peonies. i''m getting married in july, so i don''t think that peonies would be an option -- even if i only restricted them to my bouqet...hmmm

maybe there is a look-a-like much like Faerievert posted!

i love the yellow/green/cream combo.

lulu, the anemone is very similar...i think anemone''s are typically a spring flower but depending on where you are, they can bloom in summer too...aka here in CA i can get a bunch of spring flowers to bloom for me in summer just by planting the bulbs later and in a semi-shaded area.

plus i wouldn''t rule anything out just yet, sometimes florists can get flowers from various foreign locales and you can find things you wouldn''t necessarily have blooming in the yard just yet...but it may be more pricey!!

good luck!

Maybe you could use silk ones if you can't get ahold of the real thing?

Lulu--I just read the meanings of some greenery for wedding bouquets and jotted down a couple that meant something to me:

Ivy=good fortune

Herbs=fertility

I''m putting both of these in my bouquet and in my FI''s bout!
