Hi

I was wondering if you could recommend a jeweler in Calgary that would reset my diamond into a new mounting. I will already have the mounting, so I wouldn''t be purchasing anything from them. That seems to be the problem, I called to a few places and they said that I had to buy either the diamond or the mounting from them to set it

In my small town, the jewellers ship all their work to Toronto! So I''m trying to find a relatively local jeweller that is willing to set and maintain my ring.

The setting will be a well-known designer setting, if that makes any difference. The purchase is just pending so I don''t want to give too much away! I''m so tired of shipping my little diamond away for maintenance!!!!

I use a local guy - Jeff Nechka of Premier Gems. He is a one man show, comes to my office to show the diamonds, custom designs settings, etc. I imagine he can help you.

Thanks LitigatorChick! Do you think he would be comfortable with intricate designs, halo, pave...etc? I''ll try googling him.

I do feel bad not purchasing anything, is this asking too much? I would be open to purchasing future projects

I remember that! Silly me, I never thought I would need a local jeweller

so I didn't save it either.

I had him do a very simple design. He would be a good resource, in any event. When I was working on my project, I told him I may buy the diamonds elsewhere and do the setting through him, and he was fine with that.
