Casey Anthony trial...

I just saw on a news site that it is set to be read at 2:15 -- can anyone confirm?

That is still 20 minutes away! (assuming EST)

I saw that too, only 12 min to go....

yes 2:15!!! I'm watching now!

I hate being stuck at work! Got no tv to watch and can't even stream on the computer because it is completely silent in here right now ;(

For all of you watching, please post the verdicts!

I don't even know what to say...

Not guilty, I can't believe it :nono:

I'm beyond shocked

Unbelievable :nono:

The things people can get away with these days...unbelievable.

HOW?!??!!!!!

What sort of backwards planet do they live on?

Did they find her guilty of ANYTHING???

Am I dreaming?????

Not guilty of murder in the first degree, aggravated child abuse, and manslaughter. Guilty of providing false information to a law enforcement officer.

That's exactly how I feel, I seriously just can't believe it. It's cases like these that make me lose all faith in our judicial system.

NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!

Wow. Just wow. She had better get herself a new identity and signed up for witness protection asap if she expects to make it in the united states very long...

:angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

I hope she spends the rest of her life with the police watching every.last.move she makes until they catch her on something else. I also hope that this trial has been public enough that everywhere she goes until the day she dies, all she is met with is disgust and anger.

That poor little girl was murdered by her own mother and the jury just let her get away with it :nono:

state will appeal. that said, casey wins b/c that body decomposed for so long and the one guy who found it was a not-credible creep.

Wow. That is insane. I am very angry. What is wrong with the jurors!?

Un-f**king believable!! :angryfire:

Makes me lose all faith in our criminal justice system, and in the intelligence of the majority of citizens of this country. :nono:

Ugh...disgusted and sad. And mad for that baby girl.

IF her 'mother' didn't do it, then WHO did?!? Who else had motive, opportunity?

A guilty woman was set free today. And did you notice her FIRST REAL TEARS, were of RELIEF for HERSELF. What a horrible pig she is.

I want to puke.

monstrous

Really?! Do we have the rule of law in this country or not? She was found not guilty. Like it or not, it's over--I hope you aren't insinuating that someone in this country should go outside of the law to administer some vigilante "justice" in this case.

Ditto. Wow, unreal. I didn't follow the case closely but it is so obvious that she's guilty.

The only chance for justice would be if Cindy kills Casey tonight with chloroform made from her bamboo plants and duct tape.

eta:
By which I mean to say that if I were writing this story as a book I would have that as a plot twist, not that I think that is what should really happen, I mean really... Really?

What mother parties while her child is missing or dead? What mother waits 31 days to tell the police her daughter is missing? A GUILTY ONE! I cannot believe it! It makes me so mad that the justice system allows guilty murderers to walk freely. I can't get over it.

WWWWTTTTTTFFFFFFFFF

Exactly what I think. IMO, she isn't long for this earth whether she goes to jail for her MISDEAMONERS or is let free. I could be wrong of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if something happens to her.

I don't think that someone should KILL her, but I do think she will have a hard time living her life in the U.S. I wouldn't want to hire her, if I was an employer. I would not want to work for or with her. As a customer, I would not want to be waited on by her at a restaurant, retail store, anywhere! I think, for a while at least, she will have a rough life. Everyone knows who she is and what she has done (or not done, if you agree with the verdict!)

ETA: If I saw her on the street, I would have a hard time controlling my mouth to not scream - MURDERER! I think that she will cause a scene whenever she goes out in the public for years to come.

I was not aware the state could appeal a verdict.

Can they do that?

I thought that you could only be tried the one time for a crime and if you were found "not guilty" there was no going back to do it again?

I really don't think they can. You can't be tried twice for the same crime. They could charge her with something new - but what?

The State cannot appeal. Once someone is acquitted, it's over forever because of our constitutional right preventing a person from being placed in double jeopardy. This is why the prosecution has the ability to make an interlocutory appeal (an appeal in the middle of the proceedings to decide an issue of law). Once the not guilty has come down, that's it for the State's case.
