Hey, what did you end up doing with your color change spinel? I think I missed it.

oh- goodness, I went to local B&M to check out what I liked, and they have a solitaire mount (wider band) but it was $599 - and I wasn''t sure if I wanted to spend that amount-on it, but it was very beautiful and the head rotated at an angle. However, I just sent Sally and email about the lotus ring, since the prongs are N/E/W/S and wondered if it will work with my square clipped corner spinel- I really really want to set it at an angle. so we shall see, I''m going to pick up my Tourmaline ring today - it is set...finally.

That is a problem that can easily be fixed

I have a new pink spinel too. I kind of traded it for the ruby I guess. I am pretty happy with it. It has a thread, but here are pics for the catch all.

Not the best pictures, especially this one - everything looks so dark, but better than no pictures at all I hope. Only problem with this beautiful new gem case is that Mr Gailey now knows exactly how many I have. Actually, there''s one missing. My malaya garnet from Gemrite is being set. Nothing fancy. The setting came from another ring, just enough to get it on my finger. It will be ready soon.

D&T - Thanks. I am ok with how things worked out. I was looking for a bright pink stone, so I feel like I got what I really wanted. I hope the ruby works out for someone else, it is just not what I was looking for.

Yes, "no rest for the wicked" as my Mum used to say. Just heading out the door again this morning, but hope to be back around lunchtime as it''s going to be 30° C (86° F), which is maybe not as some of you are going to get today, but too damn hot for weeding!

Stones and stats later - promise. I''m going to build myself a little spreadsheet, how obsessed is that!

Not too much trouble Kribbie. My problem is that my Nikon 5700 DSLR is very bad at auto focus inside, and as for macro shots - well let''s just say furgetaboutit!

I''ll have a bit of a practice in a while - just got in!
