Maybe some of you remember my very frustrated post last week...I couldn''t find centerpieces to save my life! Well, we have decided on at least the bottom part and I LOVE it!

Thanks to sunnyd, we found eiffel tower vases for only $4.98. The next day, I stumbled across the following picture...for months I have been so torn on centerpieces but after seeing this pic, I instantly said "Yup that''s it!" The vase with the blue LEDs is not only affordable, but exactly what I envisioned. The only thing is, I don''t want greenery flowing out of the vase - and I don''t want real flowers due to the cost (we need to have 20 centerpieces.) My mom suggested eucalyptus branches. We could also do artificial flowers...or strings of gemstones...or...???

We are half-way there and that''s totally okay with me!

Side note - our color/"theme" is cobalt blue... we are using blue wherever possible which is why I love this centerpiece picture. And the blue glowing at each table - I think its totally amazing!

Any thoughts on fun and non-expensive ideas to put in the vase?! Thanks everyone!

That looks awesome!

Before you rule out flowers, maybe go to a local Sam''s club or grocery store and see what their bulk rates are. Depending on the flower, it could be cheaper than fakes (I was going to use fakes, but turned out using real orchids were cheaper than getting quality fakes).

I don''t know the rest of your wedding aesthetic, but maybe a lush feather arrangement?

THose vases are AWESOME!!!!! Great find!

i definitely think you need something on top to make a statement. i like the idea of the feathers, have you thought about japanese lanterns? i think that might look really neat on top, plus they would sort of "glow" with the LED!

they aren''t too expensive if you keep looking

You could also use baby''s breath. It''s pretty inexpensive and you wouldn''t need much.

very pretty! i don''t know what to tell you about the top. but i like what you have so far!!

Yay I helped!

I second whoever said feathers. I think those would look awesome! Also ditto MTG, check out a bulk flower place or a farmer''s market or something. Quality fakes are usually more expensive than the real thing.

Ooh what about a clump of hydrangea? Either white or the blue/white? It''s a big flower so you wouldn''t need a lot per centerpiece.

Oh wow!!!!!! They look GREAT!!!! I may need to borrow the idea for our pool blue themed wedding!

That picture got me thinking... it wouldn''t be the fastest DIY, but it would likely be easy. What about a spray of curled ribbon coming out of the top. There are two ribbons I see coming from the vase in your pictures. Take a dowel cut to length, foam block to hold it upright in the vase, wired ribbon curled by you and attached at the top of the dowel. Voila, you have a "bouquet" of curly ribbon streaming out over your vase which will be illuminated by the LEDs. I also really like the feather idea!

I seriously need to consider this ribbon idea of yours! I actually did not even notice the two strands of ribbon until you said something - and satin ribbon is an element we are having a LOT of in the wedding so it would be perfect! I need to practice with a few things...thanks for the great idea!

I love those! What a statement!

I think it would be really cool to have branches on top draped with strands of bling - crystals or whatever! What a statement! Plus the jewels would really pick up the light!

Love the ostrich feathers. Something white coming out of the top would be my vote...baby''s breath, white branches
or the ostrich feathers would all look great! Or maybe baby''s breath and white branches coming out of that.

Glad I could help! The key to this idea is wired ribbon! And I also love those ostrich feather pictures!
