Hello, I just bought a beautiful champagne and white diamond cross from Zales outlest store in Vermont this weekend.. The cross and chain (Both white gold ) cost $329.00 after the discout.. The woman told me this cross retailed for around $550.00 (that was the tag inside the box. ) Now being curious, I wanted to see if there were any of these on the internet to compare to see if I got a great deal.. i also went into some other local jewelers and they didnt have any champagne diamond jewelry at all...
Now i have posted a picture with this for all to see.. I was told that the white diamonds alone are 1/2 carat. (she didnt say what the champagne ones were, although they are obviously bigger..)

Any thought on the value???? im just curious..

Thanks
Michele g

Very Pretty. I''m in Australia so I am unsure of the US prices but I think here it would probably go for around $500AU in a typical Chain jewller store. NOt sure if that''s any help though

Not to be a poop, but "champagne diamonds" are the Industry''s way of offloading "less desirable" brown diamonds. I personally like them and think they make lovely pieces, but they usually sell for much less than colorless stones, or even slightly yellowish stones...

When you are talking about a piece that have such small stones, valuing them out is tough. You need to find the carat weight, clarity and color range for each of the melee (smaller than 20pts or so) stones and then attach a price to those stones. There isn''t a very accurate pricing list for brown (to my knowledge), so in smaller weights it''s even harder. Put it this way, that cross is lovely and the cost of the stones, the cutting of them, the godl chain, the setting and the marketing, salaries of the stores and all that should make that pendant at least $400, so you did good, and don''t worry about value, it''s just a lovely piece with more value on than off!

I was just going to ask the same thing - whether "champagne" was a beautified word for diamonds on the low color range.

I wouldn''t worry too much abouth whether or not you got deal. It''s a pretty necklace!

Thats ok, i do take the not so nice comments as well :) i do understand that the champagne diamonds are regarded as the lesser priced than the clear ones... And your right as long as i like it, thats all that matters.

Thanks to all for your suggestions and comments@!!! have a nice holiday
